Hi There Am New As Well I am new

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Joachim and I am new to this forum. I will try to get enough credits to get the websites for two projects hosted. So my first question. Is that possible? I ve two domain names, how do I host those two? Just getting all the credits together? O.k.

My websites will be for a community base art centre in rural Northumberland the North East of England and a community arts association.

I run a website using mambo, which is here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and a website which is in php which is here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ the two sites I am planning to host are here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

My brother wrote the code for the http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ site - I cannot do php, although, if I see code, I can make sense to, I can copy and get it incorporated into my site...

I am reasonably able at photoshopping as well.

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is my current job, a community website for diverse arts in the North East of England. It is my first attempt at Mambo and is going fairly well, although it is still in beta.

the other two pages were done in dreamweaver. I use both Mac and PC but I am rebel at heart, so I would always go for the Apple. I am using an eMac for most of the design and the PC only for testing - well it is the work one as well.

A general statement about me: I have a problem with CAPITALISING. My mothertounge is not english and we always capitalise, so apologies in advance.

Interests? Apart from Computers? reading, music (mostly classical), religion, cycling, dancing, what ever tickles my fancy....

I look foward to being active in this community, hope for some good discusions and wish you all a good day

Joachim

well welcome aboard, but to answer your questiong you can get the free hosting for your.uk site and then at computerhosting.com you can get your paid service.we have many many topics to choose from so your free hosting account will not be a problem, it is possible to move your .com website to a Xisto.com server and enjoy the many benefits we have here as well.

Hi there. Glad to have you onboard. I think you will find trap 17 a great hosting option for your sites. As mike said, get your credits. I would highly recommend the 30 credit one. Because in order to upgrade to the 30 credit you have to have to get 30 more credits. This means that you have to get a total of 40 credits. It is easier to be patient. Well, again welcome aboard.-Wild20

Thanks for all the kind words and well wishes and suggestions, I think I will wait for the 30 credits, does that mean - if I want to host both sites I need to get 70, or 80 credits?

Hopefully I can answer your question in telling you no you can not have two sub domains off of Xisto, you are only allowed one, and this goes for Xisto too, if you are hosted at Xisto you can not be hosted at Xisto as well. So this means if you are going for plan 2 you will only need to gain 30 credits, then you can apply for your one sub domain site. Further, if you wish to have two, you can surely get a domain name at Xisto - Web Hosting which offers extremely cheap hosting (10 bucks for a whole year) and also be hosted here at Xisto as well.Anyways, welcome to the forums :P. Lots of interesting topics and subjects to keep you interested. There are many knowledgeable people here that can assist you with your every need. The community is great, and posting for credits is easy to gain and maintain, just read over our TOS to become familiar with regards to proper posting.Welcome, and enjoy your stay :Pelevenmil

Thanks for the clarification. and I will look at Xisto - Web Hosting for the hosting of the other site. Is there a difference, since one is a org.uk and the other one is a co.uk?

Hi Joachim,As the other poster members said..there's only 1 subdomain per registered user. That's the rules...Hummmm... go figure. Anyway ..the webhosting here is really great & 99.9% uptime is super..no bull !!! The forums are filled with tons of bright, helpful folks. If you have any questions just post ∧ someone will be sure to get back to you..usually faster than you can imagine. PM the moderators if you have any trouble configuring or setting up your website.Enjoy your stay & make new friends :P RGPHNX
