I only had 2 virii in my entire life since I started working with computers... the first one was some random virus which came with a floppy (Don't borrow floppy games from eachother!). The second one occured in 2000, the bubble virus. Which happened when I was cleaning out my harddisk and found my "virus folder". Please note I was quite,erm...hungry for information

It just depends on the websites you visit. If you are a mainstream internet users, you will hardly get viruses. If you visit reptuable websites such as Dell.com, CNN.com, ABC.com, WB.Com, etc., most likely you will never get a virus. However if you have gone astray, and visited random websites, you may be at risk. When I am using my Windows XP laptop, I only visit reptuable wbesites. When I am using my iMAC, I feel confident enough to visit any website I please...On average, I have had 10 viruses throughout my Window's XP career. This is not a lot, but I prefer if I had none.

paypal.login, videos and images cannot infect your computer. You must be running programs that you think are porno.

And Noonster, your analysis may be true for XP users running Internet Explorer, but for those of us who use Firefox, we're generally safe wherever we browse. Also, you're only focusing on Internet-borne viruses, completely neglecting viruses spread through other means (email, instant message, etcetera).

You don't actually get a virus on your CPU, you get it on your hard drive, and in very rare cases on your BIOS. I've had the blaster worm on my hard drive when I was doing a lab assignment at my old college, so I had to get something to delete it. I also had a small virus on my old computer that caused all the windows on my desktop to close any time I typed the word "virus", or tried to do a search on the Internet called "virus". It was more annoying than anything. Recently I got an e-mail with a .zip file attached. Inside the file was an .exe file. As most geeks know, .exe files can easily contain a virus. This one was scanned, and it contained a trojan. lol Gotta love viruses and the people trying to make your life difficult.

Four viruses are found in my system. It comes with attachment file. But anti-virus software thrwat the attack at once and deleted the virus. The last time I encountered was last week and it was wicked trojan again. As long as one updates his virus definition of the anti-virus software 90 percent attacks can be easily blocked, in the rare of the rarest case 10% it may be vulnerable - destroying the hard disk, crashing it.
