twentyinches631 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 What compilers/text editors do you guys use. For me, I like:C/C++ - Visual Studio .NET, sometimes gcc/g++ (linux)Java - EclipsePerl - perlIDEHTML - notepadEclipse is amazing, if you program in Java and don't have this, you should really try it. As for using notepad for HTML, I hate WYSIWYG editors because they put so much garbage into your documents that it becomes impossible to edit them directly. Tyssen 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 I use AceHTML 5 freeware for all my HTML, ASP, PHP, javascript & CSS coding. It's got a good search & replace feature and all code is numbered and colour highlighted and it's a text editor, not WYSIWYG. It also has buttons for inserting lines of code which saves having to type as much.
twentyinches631 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 Yeah, I have a lot of friends who use EditPlus, also a text editor. I've just been too lazy to check it out.
Phyre 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2005 Well, I'm not all that great at coding [still learning the various languages...] So I stick with WYSIWYG programs like Frontpage for the majority of my coding, and minor HTML editing with NotePad++
