Google Video - Allow Upload?! not search for video but host it??

Recommended Posts

i found this while i searching for free video files host... this still in beta version but i think this is a good feature, google offer you space, so you can upload your video in to google but the sad thing is you must install a program (about 800kb) to upload video files.

We're accepting digital video files of any length and size. Simply sign up for an account and upload your videos using our Video Uploader (please be sure you own the rights to the works you upload), and, pending our approval process and the launch of this new service, we'll include your video in Google Video, where users will be able to search, preview, purchase and play it.

But what if the program contains spyware  :(

You don't have to worry about that. Considering the program is from Google and all, you can be sure that it will not contain spyware. First, I think it should have an End User License Agreement that you have to read. If a program has spyware, it has to say that it has spyware or else the program is illegal. Second, there are tons of anti-spyware applications out there that can easily get rid of the spyware if Google decides to put it in their applications.

In other words, don't worry about spyware.

????[/tab]I started this topic ( http://forums.xisto.com/topic/20774-gmail-as-your-storage-scripts-can-be-found-anywhere-free/ ), at first, thinking that Google probably dont know anything about using the mail account as a large accessible storage. But, what if Google wanted to let that happen? After reading this article found on this thread ( http://forums.xisto.com/topic/21685-google-accelerator-compromises-security-users-report-logging-into-others-cached-accounts/ ) you will find this article ( http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) to be very interesting. But now that Google may be hosting your video files that can be shared with anyone you choose, is this another way Google expanding their snap shots? I mean you wouldnt believe what kind of stuff that I found (I wasnt looking for them, lol) by going into Yahoo!, search video, and some inappropriate words or titles (again, I wasnt looking for them but it cross referenced each other, i.e.world video mov). You thought your webcam was safe? Well dont look now because someone has the video clip you sent on their hard drive ut oh

[tab]Now that Google is testing the video hosting service ( http://forums.xisto.com/topic/21419-google-video-allow-upload-not-search-for-video-but-host-it/ ) should you consider caution when uploading your video? Or support Google in their pursuit of becoming the greatest search engine? Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely Lord Acton. I would think twice about utilizing Google as your video file storage. But then again, I am more paranoid then ever before!

The important key here that I think people are going to over look is the fact that the video uploads must be approved before Google "hosts" them. It's not like people are going to be able to upload hd broadcast tv shows that they recorded with their TiVo or downloaded off of bittorrent.

Another great service from Google!! I don't have much videos to upload for now, but i guess it would be very helpful for me in the near future. and it is also nice to find out that they have their own upload manager or program.I just hope people would use this service in the legal manner. there would definitely guys who would try to upload illegal videos. I wish they could give us free webhosting accounts as well.

News Flash, as of just a few days ago Google opened the service up for viewing, so now, providing you are running windows 2000+ and have installed the viewer you can view any of the movies!!!!!

In my opinion, Google has come out with yet another good service. Keep up the good work. Also, some one should create a Xisto recruitment video or something. That would be cool!
