Recommended Posts

So I'm at school in computer class, and I said, to myself, "Hey Chris, why don't you log into Xisto.com and do some posting?" then I said back to myself "Chris, what a great freakin Idea." So I boot up the computer nearest me, and log in. I open IE, (yeah i don't have priveleges to install firefox :o ) so once I open IE and type Xisto.com/forums, and press 'go', the computer immediately displays:

Sorry, Xisto.com (http://forums.xisto.com/) is not permitted and classified as Bullitten Boards."WHAT?" Says I, "Well, let me try some of my other favorite sites...Sorry, Diabloii.net (diablo.incgamers.com/) is not permitted and classified as Bullitten Boards/Gaming.Sorry, Diablorealm.net ( diablorealm.net/index.php?/page/index.html) is not permitted, and is classified as Bulliten Boards/Gaming.Sorry, Xnxx.com ( xnxx.com/) is not permitted and is classified as Porn :D LOL, but reallyDoes anyone know how to get around this? Mabye I could setup a fake domain name to link to Xisto, so I could get to these banned sites... Or more info would be helpful...Realest Atlanta Black Fluffy Gangsta Balla Pimpin Panda

Well, not really so much that it's too strict... It allows MBUSA (Mercedes-Benz) and other sites, ALOT more that I think they would've banned. But you're right, it's too strict.. lol, thanks bro for the link, check ur rep.. and if it works, check ur rep again.. lol

They block everything.. yeah everything..Except the school's intranet...and their printing system sux too..You will need to purchase credits in few blocks away.. then come back to your workstation to print...It's *BLEEP* especially you need to print immediately and you are out of time...and their mice...worst case top hits in school..they can't work.. most has the dirt stuck in the mouse ball that made it not work...They just don't wanna change them to optical mice... to save cost..its terrible...

School computer system have issued a new REQUIRMENT for all USA schools in 2004. It states that all computers must have a logger of everything the student does. Every site, application, every single word typed. Recently, upgrades were made so that the PC would be slow BUT fast enough. Basically, it's your every day Keylogger and random students are checked periodically to make sure no improper sites or applications are used. So you see, it's the new age of spying on our children. Sort of ruins the whole "freedom" of speech when every word a kid writes and everything he looks at is being watched.. Funny thing is, they are told this but no one listens

I hope you realise that if you get caught browsing a banned site through a proxy, there could be serious reprecussions. Just be careful when you do it. And make sure no one who could rat on you is around. I've been through it and I know that it can kill your career further if such a thing goes on your permanent record.

I don't recommend trying to try and mess with your schools computers just so you can go to some websites. If it's anything like my school, they monitor the computers. They just sit at they're computer and press a button on their keyboard and it goes to the next screen. I've seen teachers doing this. They do tell you about this a lot at my school. Atmy school if you go to websites that they don't approve of or do anything illegal or anything your screen goes red and an alarm goes off. One person was trying to do something like hack into someones bank account or something at our school and got arrested, although you're not doing anyhting that bad. Our school I don't think is as strict as your school when it comes to websites. I've only been blocked from one website. I think it was a chat room.

Damn you lot have hard policys over there!anyways, any setting that can be adjusted (local at the workstation) is not illegal (i think), so maybe you are able to just deselect the option for using a proxysript. (tools - internet options - connections - lan settings - use automatic configuration script). If not, then another pc / server is keeping a list of blocked sites and you will not be able to connect to your favorite sites...
