no9t9 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2005 I prefer making my own guestbooks. That way I can totally customize it to the way I want it to look. Also, I can add features that I think will be useful. PHP makes it very easy to do.

sunkist 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2005 Hi:I have a guestbook on my site. It is hosted by Bravenet. Overall, I am satisfied with the functions that bravenet guestbook has.You may view my guestbook here:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/I have the option of previewing the message before the message gets posted into the guestbook. I also have the option of editing entries. There is a link on the guestbook, that links back to my homepage. There are other features too.The only downside that I have seen with the Bravenet guestbook is that it has ads. Of course, these can be removed if you upgrade. (Translated, that means pay). But for a free guestbook, it has been very good.Sunkist
gotcha41 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 (edited) - i've considered Multiguestbook as the best guestbook system (so far).. 129968 I have to reconsider that: the loading speed of the guestbook is really worse..... The only downside that I have seen with the Bravenet guestbook is that it has ads. 134421 i agree. But i think http://www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=signmybook&e=com is better then Bravenet, at has no irritating ads, just a simple text link ..Thanks for responding! Dragonfly 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 If you want a very professional guestbook, you should go for the script that uses database like MySQL. For this I suggest you advance guestbook and viper's guestbook, both are nice. Just search google you will get, 'advance guestbook' and 'viper's guestbook' as search keywords. However if you want a very simple guestbook which doesn't use database I suggest you to get one from 'advance guestbok' again.. they have both database and text file guestbook... and install it in your own space..Don't go for bravenet, many pop-ups and advertisement will annoy your site visitors. If you don't want to host your guestbook at your own webspace another option is freegb.net, theirs is quite clean and customizeable too. Otherwise you can try iguest.net as well. Or still dreambook.com is also another good option. If you want to have a wider choice go to hotscripts.com and search for guestbook under asp, php or your favourite programming language... All the best.
shigajet 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2005 Hmm...I'd personally go for the Viper Guestbook that comes with the hosting package here. It has no ads and I was impressed with some of the sample layouts. Looks very nice, in my opinion.
