So, what would be the difference about this that would make it so that only package 2 and up are allowed to do this? There both subdomians. I can see if it was something like the dot.tk thing that gives away free .tk domains (ie. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/), or a payed domian with a .com, .org, exc. , but why give almost the same thing to package 2 and up? what's too good to be true about that? a lot of members here are hosted,and it is not our loss if you don't believe it. if you can find a better freehost with professional hosting features as what Xisto offers, then goodfor you. and as for the packages, that's how it is right now, so live with it. ifyou really want higher packages, it is not that hard to obtain it if youare really serious about getting it from Xisto. just follow Xisto rules.

I really don't get the whole .unc.cc and .trap17 thing, thats why I stick with .trap17. I had a .tk but dumped it cuz I thought it was pointless.

UNI.CC 'domains' are still considered domain names (even if it isn't technically correct), as they provide DNS services and act as a top-level domain name. You could use their redirection services with package 1, but not as an add-on or parked domain.

However, uni.cc domains can be clumsy, and well, quite unreliable. I believe .tk are not free, whereas uni.cc are. Although, Xisto.com subdomains are the most reliable, as generally as long as they are up, your hosted pages are too.

Well, that one isn't a real domain name. It's just a redirection url really, it's pratically free to host also.

Well, the only thing that makes the difference in both parites is the features they are providing. As in the .trap17 gives a 50-250 mc space, that features the best one to differentiate both of them. The only condition to gain that feature for free is just to be active to their community.. Although the they have in common goals or whatever it is.. They are different in feaures. so be it!!! Xisto!!

As me, im still a newbie here in Xisto but as I search the forum, i find it very excellent community and it'll help me a lot in my studies.. Im a college working student.. i work as internet Cafe attendant at morning and student in evening .. Xisto maybe the best community i've ever search in the internet.. i hope so!

No, only from the uni.cc.* (If it works..)

I believe you can use something like asdf.uni.cc would redirect to asdf.trap17.com, not too sure on this one.

Well all I can say is that when I had a subdomain at a different web hosting community, my subdomain worked fine. When I changed to my TLD (Top Level Domain) I had to change where my FTP logged into to log into my TLD addresss.

Your mistaking a little, Uni.cc is quite reliable. Its just something slower since it is not directly on the server and free is still free, but Xisto is free as well so...Basicly package 2,3,4 give you the option to have your own .com .org etc linked to your Xisto site. Meaning you can access your site trough the .com (or the rest) and give out ftp, email etc trough it.
