Zenchi 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2004 (edited) Freewebs Freewebs.com (sucks) http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (Index.htm is a redirection page) Freewebs is horrible, as they make you put banners on every bloody page! iGuest 3 Report post Posted September 7, 2004 ShyperShyper WebhostingElfBoys If this host could actually quit going offline, it wouldn't be half bad. But they keep deleting stuff and the MySQL database keeps disappearing and your pages disappear... It's very obnoxious. Later, J. (TS)
qingtian 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2004 Name: FreewebsURL: Freewebs.comWebsite: no longer availableComments: Wasn't that bad in my opinion, they didn't have any advertisments or banners. Though, now I think you have to link them or something. Was good for a while.
vitaitaliano 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2004 Tripod.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ no longer available}I chose them for the site-builder because at the very very beginning, I did not need much more than page parking, with infrequent updates: I am in tourism dealing with people and little technological stuff, and i figured it'd be a long while before I needed anything like e-commerce tools etc.Tripod. Pop-up ad in every singe frame. You get your choice of po-ups or banners,so I chose banners, but after a couple of months they added pop-ups too!! i tried to get them taken off but any ALLEGED support team there must have gone on an extended vacation to Antarctica or something....HTML deliberately screwed up so you could never use it elsewhere. Locked out of several pages on my site, which was embarrassing and cost my reputatuion - this was not a high-tech biz and if anything went wrong like that, my customers usually blamed me as if I was not professional or something, I did not expect much more than the basics, it was only my beginner site and done with templates and all, and I figured I'd move on up after I got the hang of doing business through a website --but I DID expect them to deliver what they'd promised. I have great expectations of Xisto for my websites.
clouds421 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2004 shyper.com They also deleted my site w/o warning (had it for less than 3 weeks). Prior to that, their uptimes weren't great either. This is a new company so I don't know where they're going to go... good thing was no ads or banners, speed was good when it's up.
