The sites looks well done, especially the first. I think you should stick with either the tan or the dark blue color for both the home page and the content pages on the second one, though. Just my opinion, but I think it would look better if it didn't change the most prominent color when changing pages. I haven't the faintest idea what it's abotu though, so it may fit with the content.
