Free Dns Hosting! experience sharing
whistle replied to whistle's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Finally, I found the best DNS hosting provider I've ever found. The mydomain.com provides all functionalies of DNS except the dynamic dns. Many DNS hosting can provide you to create a subdomain. The subdomain can be pointed to an IP address, a domain, a mail server or a URL. But most of the DNS hosting rarely let you DNS hosting your subdomain. That is, mydomain.com can let you create many domains. Each of them can be dns hosted on mydomain.com or other dns hosting provider. Therefore, if you have many webhosting account, you can give each a subdomain. As mentioned above, mydomain.com does not provide the ddns (dynamic dns). That's Ok. Just create a subdomain and host it on another dns hosting provider with ddns, like dnspark.com or ZoneEdit.com. This problem can be easily resolved. With the ability to share your subdomain, your domain will be more worthy. -

With your help, I found the absolute path both on Lycos.com and t35.com and then put updated. Lycos.com works, but t35.com fails. I wonder what's difference between them but I am very interested in that.Anyway, you help me a lot. I feel so lucky to get your help.

Do you know how many DNS queries your domain has? Most people never notice it, because it's hard to evaluate the queries if you don't own your domain server. Even you have one, you may not know how to count it.The question should not be mentioned often, because it usually affects nothing. Many DNS queries do not mean that the domain is popular, but it do cost a heavy load to a DNS server. So some free DNS hosting provider provide services with limited usage of dns queries, otherwise extra charge is needed.I bought a .to domain recently, and fortunately I found a free dns hosting provider "dnspark.com", which provides DNS hosting with maximum 200,000 usage per month. I and surprised that my domain got over 10,000 DNS queries every day. It means my domain can work properly only each 2/3 month, and the rest 1/3 month it goes down.Besides, I set a catch all email once. Guess what, over 50 spam e-mail arrived in 10 minutes. That's why the query rate is so high. I just start to use my domain, and I do still not to publish to anybody. Could you image that you have to suffer 99% spam queries every day? Thanks for these spam e-mail, my catch all e-mail is shuted down in 10 minutes. Besides, it forces me to find another DNS hosting for my domain. It's too bad. Could anybody suggest me a good free DNS hosting? Well, how can I forbit these spam? Or just let go?

Thanks for your help! I do get the absolute path by the way you teach me.I have another problem. As decribed above, I use the function "mkdir("$credir/$username", 0777);", but there is nothing happened. How can I know what's wrong with it? Or how can I debug it?I put the same scripts on lycos.com and t35.com. The one on lycos.com works, but the other on t35.com does nothing. That is, no error message showed and the page is just refreshed. Of course, the page refreshing could be resulted from some scripts within the page. Is there any reason or solusion for this problem? Please advise me again. Thank you!

Can anyone share other good dns hosting? I hope to know more.Another good dns hosting I found is ZoneEdit.com. The provides all functionalities of your first level domain. It is like the dnspark.com.First 5 domains added with under 200MB usage are free. They say that 200MB usage could be 1 million DNS queries. It should be enough to match the need of the most people. -
I forgetted for metion one more information. The registerfly.com provides a cheapest price on .info. A new .info domain only costs 2.99 us dollar. If you apply it at the right time and try to Enter the code "INFOSPECIAL", you may get the on sale price $1.99.Strongly suggest you buy your domain for many year at once. The renew price is $9.99. I buy my .info domain for 10 years and it only cost me $19.9.

The netfirms.com sells a domain only USD $4.95 per year. But I do not find the renew fees. Anyway if your are a starter to join the net world, it could be a nice attempt. You can transferr the domain to your disired register after 6 monthes. Of course, the register must have a cheaper renew and transfer fees.So it's better to get your own name.

The very first time I bought my first domain from register.com, I was so excited. With the poor funtionalites, I had to built my own domain server at home. After a painful study, finally I could add A name or C name of my domain. What's the next? Because I used cable model, my ip changed very often. I had to update my ip very often, too. I couldn't update it anywhere and anytime, and I had no idea about the dynamic DNS. Finally, I gave up.Then I understood the service from who sells you the domain is very important. But it changes after I find the DNS hosting provided by dnspark.com. Of course, it provides all basic DNS functionalities with A name, C name, ..., and so forth. Moreover, url forwarding, email forwarding, and dynamic DNS are included also. The limitation of this service is 200,000 query and 2 domain only. If anyone has the same problem like me, you can enjoy it.

I just buy a domain and hope to share it for url forwarding. Of course, I try to use the free sources as possible. Now all I have is a domain and I am trying to get an account from Xisto.I hope to get PHP scripts that can automatically accept people to request for creating a subdomain or subdirectory for url forwarding or url framing. May anyone give me some advices about where to get the PHP scripts or how to proceed it?

I have operated a web hosting reseller programe before. When I used WHM to create an account, I had to give the account a domain first in the account creation. Then I found no way to change the domain after that. That is, it may be impossible. The possible way is to delete it first and then to recreate an account with your new domain.

Dns Servers How do they work?
whistle replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
You can assign the dns server of your domain to a dns hosting site and then try to configure it. There must be some useful information to help you. Besides you can pratice on your own, because to built up a domain name server is much harder to use it. -
Best Way To Promote A Website?
whistle replied to rhodesian.dragon's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Free service can increase your traffic a bit. But free webhosting and free email will cost a lot. How about the short url or called url redirection or url forwarding. Of course, you should have a short and good domain name. ADs of your site can be applied to the free service, then the free service can also help your tranffic. -
A better way is to redirect your subdomain to your old domain, or you can add on your subdomain on your hosting site if it support the add-on funtionality. Of course, a A record of the subdomain must be made into the dns of your new domain.

Service is the most important option for me. I don't know what services 1and1.com can provide, but I still have to give an advice here. A domain needs dns hosting which is often provided by the sellers. But I think a good dns hosting should have subdomain creation, url forwarding, email forwarding and so forth. Moreover, if your subdomain can be dns hosted also, it is the best.

The registerfly.com is very good. They support a full controll of your domain and the price is not expensive. You can add subdomains for a A name, C name and so on. Besides, the subdomain can be used for forwarding (cloaking or non-cloaking). You can also make e-mail forwarding as many as you want. Anyway, they provide a lot functionalities that godday.com doesn't support. Consider it!!! Afterwards, they provide sale promotion very often, you can wait for a good price.

Well, 1 post a day is not too hard. But may I collect 20 credits or more and then let it deducte to 0? Moreover, does my credits be deducted ever day even if I don't have a web hosting to keep? If so, that's much over what I expect.
