It can be unsupported hardware(!!!). I've also had this problem with knoppix. Try to make LFS (Linux From Scratch). It can be easier, than looking for another distribution. Here is the adress for LFS instructions: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/

Hello. You need to download WinRAR(if working with Windows)/rar(Linux), then just to start extracting the first file (***.part01.rar). It will extract all the parts in proper order. If you need help with burning the disk, I shall be glad to hel with this... regards, Mark.
