I am trying to make a remake sort of, with flash of jetman... with my own characters and backgrounds, i know that i want to probably either do clicking for upwards propulsion on the y axis or either just simply make it follow the mouse... the problem i am having is with collision detection because i have never done that before, (basically when the character(mouse) hits the walls or other obstacles the game should end)anyone have any suggestions for me, or maybe a nice tutorial out there somewhere to help out with this a bit, I am pron00b at actionscript

proskiier23 replied to tinoymalayil's topic in Programming
i like .net because i am obsessed with master pages... they make my structure so easemy friend swear by java though, but that could be because he hates microsoft and apple -
this is the code that i have to change my style sheets, but i was wondering if it is easily ported to asp, since my pages are all .aspx <script type="text/javascript"><script type="text/javascript" ><!--var style_cookie_name = "style" ;var style_cookie_duration = 30 ;function switch_style ( css_title ){ var i, link_tag; for (i = 0, link_tag = document.getElementsByTagName("link"); i < link_tag.length ; i++ ) { if ((link_tag[i].rel.indexOf( "stylesheet" ) != -1) && link_tag[i].title) { link_tag[i].disabled = true; if (link_tag[i].title == css_title) { link_tag[i].disabled = false; } } set_cookie( style_cookie_name, css_title, style_cookie_duration ); }}function set_style_from_cookie(){ var css_title = get_cookie( style_cookie_name ); if (css_title.length) { switch_style( css_title ); }}function set_cookie ( cookie_name, cookie_value, lifespan_in_days, valid_domain ){ var domain_string = valid_domain ? ("; domain=" + valid_domain) : ''; document.cookie = cookie_name + "=" + encodeURIComponent( cookie_value ) + "; max-age=" + 60 * 60 * 24 * lifespan_in_days + "; path=/" + domain_string;}function get_cookie ( cookie_name ){ var cookie_string = document.cookie; if (cookie_string.length != 0) { var cookie_value = cookie_string.match ( '(^|[\s]*' + cookie_name + '=([^;]*)' ); return decodeURIComponent ( cookie_value[2] ); } return '';}//--></script>

So one of my friends irl told me about Xisto and i figured it would be a perfect time to join since I just finished my first website... well its ready for the net i mean, obviosuly its always getting updates and new content, but yeah This is my new apartment's roommates and my website that we have been working on for a couple of weeks now. We are all moving down to Baltimore, MD in a week or so and decided to make a website. I am trying to write (basically from now on) satire/funny articles with rediciliously awesome MS paint edited photos. So yeah if you like Maddox or any other pages like that check out our website and please click on our google ads if you would(and please leave us some comments on our articles or in our shoutboxes ) ... thanks and enjoy(hopefully) http://www.thebaltimoreblog.com/
