Watch Out! Your Brain May Grow Bigger (if you meditate)
freenrg replied to freenrg's topic in Health & Fitness
Here it is: Meditation experience is associated with increased cortical thickness Sara W. Lazar et al http://scholar.harvard.edu/sara_lazar Also related to this same research, news release from the Society for Neuroscience: TAKE A DEEP BREATH; MEDITATION MAY BOOST BRAIN SIZE AND INCREASE MENTAL PERFORMANCE, ACCORDING TO NEW RESEARCH http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The Society for Neuroscience is a the world's largest organization dedicated to the scientific study of the brain. -

I think it does not turn you into a genius. It does open the doors for whatever genius there is in you already. And no, I do not think it is dangerous! I just think it is funny that the brain actually grows bigger. I have a headache now. I wonder if it is related. -

I have an uncle who has a huge brain, but he does not think much. What's very interesting about Einstein brain is that they found that the increase was in the white matter, not so much in the grey matter. The grey matter is where the neuron bodies are. The white matter is mostly made of axons, which are the "cables" that connect the neurons. So, it seems that the neurons in Einstein's brain were very highly interconnected, so he could see the connections between seemingly unrelated ideas in a flash. I think Einstein did not think more than other people. He thought better. -

Exactly, I find the same. I use meditation every evening now and I sort of clean up my mind and then sleep comes very easily. I find it more difficult to meditate in the morning. My mind wants to jump into the action and I often give up. -

Hey, but look, these guys at Harvard, Yale and MIT did some research and found that it does grow...http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2002/04/meditation-dramatically-changes-body-temperatures/ Did you know that schizoprenics' brain shrink? OK, I really do not care if the brain shrinks or grows. I do meditate to re-connect to the big-picture part of my mind and, as you say, to tap the "unknown" part of the brain. By unknown I understand the part of my mind that I am not generally conscious of. About humans using only a small percentage of their brains, sorry, that is not correct. I studied neuroscience at the University of California and that is not true. I think the confusion must come from the fact that at any given time only a part of the brain is active. Each cubic centimeter of the brain is used for something. It is just not used all at the same time. It is the same as a toolbox. Just because we do not use all the tools at the same time it does not mean that the toolbox is only 10% used. Do you see what I mean? The brain is very costly to maintain. It consumes a disproportionate proportion of the body's resources. Natural selection would not permitted such a waste as using only a small percentage of the brain. -
I think if Ash-Bash is interested in giving hosting business a try a reseller account is a good way to start. He would learn a lot of the things he needs to learn with a modest investment. He could then graduate and move to a dedicated server, but that requires solid knowledge of server administration. In any case, I would recommend anybody interested in going into the hosting business to learn as much as possible about linux and control panels before going "live", or you will have a bunch of unhappy customers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Just wanted to add to my previous posts about freeware reseller control panels that the Xisto/Xisto - Web Hosting VPS offer comes with the option of VHCS preinstalled free of charge. That's not bad to host unlimited* domains: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ * careful with unlimited

Sorry, this I wrote earlier was misleading: Webmin is not a good choice for webhosting. These can work for webhosting: - ispCP - SysCP - ISPConfig But a normal shared hosting account does not give you the tools you need to manage your customers. How are you going to give your customers a CPanel to control their accounts for example? Notice from jlhaslip: Merged posts

Another option is to go for VPS. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Right now there is an offer with VPSmini @ $20 with 128MB burstable to 512MB RAM 11 GB SPACE (including Operating System, CPanel etc. files) 300 GB BANDWIDTH 192 MB Guaranteed RAM 256 MB Burstable RAM 1 IP Addresses allocation But, you do need to know Linux, and you have to use Webmin Cpanel, not the CPANEL Cpanel, or you will have to pay more. The question I have about this is SSL. You need an SSL certificate to capture your customer's details in a secure web connection. With a reseller account, this SSL certificate may be provided by Xisto, am I right? How does this work?

Adding Xisto Host Shared Ip To Dns Records
freenrg replied to frozen.fish's topic in Web Hosting Support
Great! We know how to do it now. I thought it would be very difficult or impossible for the server to stop you from managing DNS externally after you have added the domain. It is a one time check. Pass it, and you are in. -
Adding Xisto Host Shared Ip To Dns Records
freenrg replied to frozen.fish's topic in Web Hosting Support
Yes, exactly. That is what I meant... If you enter the xisto nameservers in your account on http://www.co.cc/ then the Xisto - Web Hosting cpanel will allow you to add the domain. If you do not enter xisto nameservers in your account on http://www.co.cc/, and instead you use co.cc nameservers and manage the DNS on http://www.co.cc/ then the Xisto - Web Hosting cpanel will not allow you to add the domain. ---- Now. You have already added the domain. Have you tried using co.cc nameservers and managing DNS on http://www.co.cc/ AFTER adding the domain on Xisto - Web Hosting cpanel? I suspect you will be able to do it. -

Adding Xisto Host Shared Ip To Dns Records
freenrg replied to frozen.fish's topic in Web Hosting Support
Hi I am getting the same errors for a .com domain and a co.cc domain. I have pointed the nameservers to GAMMA but I cannot create the addon domains. cooldomain1.com Error from park wrapper: Using nameservers with the following IPs: 208.109.255.9,216.69.185.9 Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver. Those are godaddy nameservers 208.109.255.9, ns18.domaincontrol.com. [Glue: 208.109.255.9] [TTL: 172800]216.69.185.9 ns17.domaincontrol.com. [Glue: 216.69.185.9] [TTL: 172800] cooldomain2.co.cc Error from park wrapper: Using nameservers with the following IPs: 222.122.6.21,222.122.6.20,118.219.232.169 Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver. Those are co.cc nameservers 222.122.6.21, ns2.co.cc222.122.6.20, ns1.co.cc118.219.232.169 ns3.co.cc. [IP: 118.219.232.169] [TTL: 86400] This error message is not easy to understand. I think it means that the host server (GAMMA in this case) should - host the DNS zone ("Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers") or - have information about which nameservers are serving the DNS zone ("have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns"). I do not understand why Xisto - Web Hosting introduces this restriction. The error has nothing to do with the co.cc domain being a subdomain. -

Adding Xisto Host Shared Ip To Dns Records

Hi frozen.fish You cannot add addon domains or parked domains to a DNS zone. Each domain has its own DNS zone. Let me help you...Please post your zone records here. Something like this: Domain laidomain.es ; <<>> DiG 9.3.4-P1.1 <<>> axfr laidomain.es @ns1.xname.org.; (1 server found);; global options: printcmdlaidomain.es. 14400 IN SOA ns.computinghost.com. support.unixbsd.info. 2009051800 14400 7200 3600000 86400laidomain.es. 14400 IN A 208.87.xxx.xxxlaidomain.es. 14400 IN NS ns.computinghost.com.laidomain.es. 14400 IN NS ns0.xname.org.laidomain.es. 14400 IN NS ns1.xname.org.laidomain.es. 14400 IN NS ns2.computinghost.com.laidomain.es. 14400 IN MX 10 aspmx.l.google.com.laidomain.es. 14400 IN MX 20 alt1.aspmx.l.google.com.laidomain.es. 14400 IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ptr include:aspmx.googlemail.com ~all"cpanel.laidomain.es. 14400 IN A 208.87.xxx.xxxftp.laidomain.es. 14400 IN A 208.87.xxx.xxxgoogleffffffffb157c268.laidomain.es. 14400 IN CNAME google.com.localhost.laidomain.es. 14400 IN A 127.0.0.1mail.laidomain.es. 14400 IN CNAME laidomain.es.webdisk.laidomain.es. 14400 IN A 208.87.xxx.xxxwebmail.laidomain.es. 14400 IN A 208.87.xxx.xxxwhm.laidomain.es. 14400 IN A 208.87.xxx.xxx http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. 14400 IN CNAME laidomain.es.laidomain.es. 14400 IN SOA ns.computinghost.com. support.unixbsd.info. 2009051800 14400 7200 3600000 86400;; Query time: 52 msec;; SERVER: 87.98.164.164#53(87.98.164.164);; WHEN: Tue May 19 13:05:20 2009;; XFR size: 21 records (messages 1)I have removed the final part of the IP addresses because you are doing it, although I am now aware of any security risk if I post the whole IP. I have also changed the domain, just in case. What is the danger of posting the actual IP and domain? --------------------------------------------------- I have not tried godaddy.com's DNS service. Have you considered using other DNS services? I have used these free DNS services: - http://www.xname.org/ - http://dyn.com/managed-dns-express/ - https://www.zoneedit.com/ A couple more services that I have found, but not tried: - http://dyn.com/managed-dns-express/ - http://freedns.afraid.org/ Also, if you send me your domain names by PM I can analyze them and tell you what you can do. -

As a Liverpool and Real Madrid fan, I am supporting the referee. I hope the game ends in a goal-less draw and they keep shooting penalties for three days and nights until the UEFA declares no winner.I think Barcelona will win. Darn!
