I've had issues with Craigslist as of lately too. Actually they were both about web-design jobs. Two places were hiring a web designer so I created a professional site based on their requirements (they both seem to be website design companies, so it's not for them, it's for clients)... Both companies kept in contact with me for 24 hours and then dropped all contact after. I'm to the point of giving up with Craigslist altogether in terms of job searching.
I've sent in multiple resumes to places nearby as well with absolutely no response. Some of them even keep re-posting that they're hiring, and still won't respond.

Wow I just had a quick look at your website and damn it looks good..I don't even know how to achieve half the stuff you did there :S..

Nameless, The problem with your mycents not updating is because there are many posts of yours which have been un-approved or deleted. Secondly, I will reassure everyone that the mycent system is stable and crediting members. The only problem is the number of members have increased and the system is not able to cope up with the increasing number.
Previously mycent updates were only delayed by 1 day, but now its gone more than a week. The mycent system puts a good load on the server and hence I am not pushing the throttle setting as the present hosting cluster requires an upgrade.

I have scheduled the update to be done next month. And I m sure, the system will be fast again. Please bear with us till the next month.

I also assure everyone that your all your posts will be accounted and credited. Just wait for the myCENT update mail :-)

I really think you should make a News,announcement that clarifies the current mycent situation, instead of leaving people in the dark..

Because you need to pay for the books(which are expensive btw) and also for your living(food, the rent...). The education itself is free. I know this because all nordic countries follow this standard except Iceland I think. I live in Finland(next to sweden) where education itself is also free, and books are also free until you are done with the 9th grade. After that you have two choises, a school where you learn about everything in general(length is about 3-4 years depending on the amount of courses your take), and then there is another option, a school where you learn the occupation you want to(for example, nursery, merchant, laborant...). The second one's length depends on what are you studying. You can also do these both at the same time, this gives you some kind of advantage when you're applying for a job. There also is an option to work and study at the same time, it's kind of like "learn while you're working"-thing, out of 4 weeks, you spend 1 week in school. Amazingly, there is also an option to do all these 3 at the same time.Anyway, after all this, you have to options, (again), continue with learning an occupation(possibly a higher status occupation than the one you studied earlier that requires for you the have passed the lower one's classes), or you can continue to university, now it won't be general education, but the subjects you choose. (some classes like English and Swedish + some other foreign language is required tho).

how come I heard from my friend in sweden..he said that pretty much everyone who goes to college NEEDS to get student loan otherwise you're pretty much screwed and no way you can pay for the tuition..

These companies only offer limited time hosting for spcified files size. Humyo.com is best wesite to host files. You can share files and you can do colaborated work free of cost. Moreover there is no time limitation and file size limitation as you can host files upto 5GB. I search for many free file sharing and found this best. They offer very good downloading uploading speed. You can even do you work online thorugh JAVA interface. You can even just through your files on the interface and files will start uploading like you do in your Operating system. You may get alot of space from microsoft but they have size limitation upto 20 MB. similarly google has file size limitation. But Humyo.com is best!

I only hope people realize obama didn't nominate himself and also that this demonstrates how highly people in other countries think of him. Until recently, the US was hated by other countries. We had become so unpopular under the Bush Administration for a variety of reasons. When Obama was elected, other countries saw the US as an open-minded country able to elect a black president. They see him as an agent of change and are more willing to open up to the US and listen to what we suggest. Then we get back to the US where the people who didn't vote for him don't just disagree with his policies, they downright HATE the man. I've never in my life seen people with their undies in such a wad over a presidential election...and it wasn't even that close. It's not like he won by 3 votes and the ballots had hanging chads or anything. But those people will take this and use it against the Obama and the people who like him as if anyone in the US had anything to do with him winning the Nobel Peace Prize. I don't know if he deserves to win, as Americans we're too clouded by the home front and are unable to see the world view of Obama...but the Nobel committee thinks he deserves to win. This isn't a prize for how Americans feel about him, but how the world feels about him. If what the committee says is true, if he's really transformed how people think of America to the point that we can start making the world better, then maybe he does deserve it and I don't think anyone in the US is qualified to make that call because right now we can't see the forest for the trees.

Heh, I applied at Best Buy and got an interview... I showed I know my stuff in both sales and about PC's but I've never worked retail before. Never got a call back afterwards so I asked if they could give pointers as to what I did wrong in the interview to not get a position. Their reason was "When I said I wasn't interested in the computer right now, you didn't try to market me a store credit card. Maybe I couldn't buy it yet because I didn't have the money and the credit card would have given 0% interest so I could purchase it." (paraphrased but that's the gist of it). According to the manager that's *all* I did wrong.
Sadly even when I go to Best Buy I've never been asked about a credit card, so I didn't know anything about that.

Learned from that interview though, I guess, .

Are you applying to places that are actually LOOKING to hire people?
I've responded to Craigslist listings and hit up as many places as I could, and I have yet to receive ONE call or response for an interview. I am currently a full-time engineer with 3 years of experience there, plus 6 years of military service (3 active), plus a few years in retail and experience with POS, plus clerical and administrative experience, PLUS computer skills... and no one has given me as much as the time of day.

But don't give up. Things might just be circumstantial. You will have to follow up with companies to see if they actually reviewed your resume and application and weed out those that aren't interested in hiring you. It's slightly discouraging, but there will be that one gem that will make it all worth the effort. Applying isn't the only step. It helps to present yourself and make yourself stand out from the rest of the pack in order to score that position.

YES, Bestbuy listed that they're hiring on oct 2nd and I applied as soon as I saw it on the very same day
and that was my third time applying too!! it's *BLEEP*ng ridiculous. they wouldn't hire me and instead they hire a bunch of goons who doesn't know *BLEEP* about technology. you ask them a question they'd just read the frigging lable to you

and another thing..craiglist I've e-mailed so many ppl who were looking for web designers..granted I'm not an expert but I can definitely code WELL in html and CSS ..I may not know php but at least I could design and code a simple website for anyone who doesn't need a super complex website ..
oh yeah photography too! sometimes I email them and I even tell them I could do it for free but for some odd reason they NEVER reply!!

I have the same problem! That's why I searched it up on Google. Then I found your question! I want to compress the file by at least 5 MBs(megabytes). The file size is 42.4 MBs and I want to upload the video to Plunder, where I can only upload a file 37 MBs or less.

you could try compressing it using programs like divx..http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Ah, thanks for the information. Have you used any of the other programs as well or only AE? I know the Sony one and at least one other are "professional production" suites but I don't know the difference between them.

I'm pretty sure aftereffect is the only one that could do what it could do
