Should Gay Marriage Be Allowed Should gay marriage be allowed
Takeshi replied to kahat's topic in General Discussion
I'm going to say "No". That is not because i'm homophobic or anything.Marriage is a religeous ceremony, which has been taught by the bible. The bible also states that homosexuality is a god-declared sin. Isn't going against the whole concept of marriage totally contriversial?I do not disagree with homosexuality, since it has been proven many times by science that homosexuallity is not just a wild choice, its a choice made subconciously, which nobody can help. What I DO disagree with is going against the concept and marriage, and then blasphomously calling it "marriage".I'm quite sure that there's other ways and ceremonies of declaring loyalty and bonding of people of the same sex. There's no need, in this day in age, to go against religeous teachings. -
Php Sockets Introduction to an underused function of PHP
Takeshi replied to HmmZ's topic in General Discussion
Nice tutorial. I agree that it is an underused feature. An even more underused feature is "command-line php" which can be used to create server and other applications under *nix console.PHP isn't just a web scripting language. Its a full-blown programming language. -
Google's "the Summer Of Code" The Deadline is June 14th
Takeshi replied to serverph's topic in Search Engines
Very cool! I might actually give this a shot? Is there a certain age you need to be to participate, I'm only 14 (dispite being fluent in VB6, VB.NET, PHP, ASP, J# and C# programming).Seems google really do have an interest in other people.Anyway, screw the 4 grand... i'm in it for the t-shirt****wonders how many people have actually got an authentic google t-shirt**** -
Hi.I'm on 2mbit cable and I usually get a good connection speed to almost everything, but i've found ftp on rhino to be slow to the extreme that it's nearly timing out when doing something as simple as changing directory. Is this normal? Thanks for reading, I anticipate an educated reply :PTakeshi

It wouldn't really make a difference to me. Whenever I use a portal i've used Post-Nuke... it's been superior by far for a long while. http://www.postnuke.com/ It's a fork of PHP-Nuke, so it's pretty much the same, but the extensions are better, and its less vulnerable.

Infact I don't think it takes as long as it should. With this post i've got the 30 posts required for a package 2 hosting account. But maybe it's because I don't make one word posts... I dunno.

Game Maker 6.1 A program to make 2D games.
Takeshi replied to MarCrush's topic in Science and Technology
Yipster... Mars said that its MORE than an RPG maker.I used to hate this program a few years ago, with no programming experience, since I couldn't figure out how to work it. Now I develop on a professional level, maybe I can work this.I'm too lazy to give it a shot though.By the way, do you have to pay for this program now? If you do it's a cheat, cause in the first place all he was doing was demonstrating what he uses to teach his students game design.I think the score was that you weren't allowed to sell your finished products.I'll take a look later maybe, when I get home... -
Once you reformat, remember to run Windows Update straight away. Some viruses stick in your boot sector and copy themselves even after you format.Windows Update usually neutralises such virii.Dispite some bad things people say about it, it may be a good idea to get SP2 aswell. SP2 fixes a lot of security holes, and you can bet on Microsoft to halt any further updates on older versions of Windows XP.

There are many programs on the internet which formulate such maths while you're not using the computer, to help find a cancer cure. These are free to download, take 5 minutes of your time, and take up hardly and space on your hard disk.Everyone can do their part to cure cancer. What i'ld love to do is slap every single person who runs that stupid SETI@Home crap. Run the cancer programs, they're exactly the same, and you're protecting people from your own world, rather than searching for people from others.

Guild Wars Recruitment recruitment for my new guild
Takeshi replied to l!nk's topic in Computer Gaming
"friends who also own the game"... what do you mean by that? Do you mean people who are good at it (i.e. ownage), or developers? I always thought game owners and developers stayed neutral without a guild... -
I like nokias, but unless they make a counterpart of my Nokia 6820 (http://www.nokia.com/en_int) with the flip-out qwerty keyboard, I won't be buying any of their new high-tech models.I love the way my Nokia can be used to write text messages in seconds which usually take people up to 5 mins :rolleyes:But another feature i'ld like to see on a Nokia is Windows Mobile Edition. I know Nokia has a pretty stable OS already, but it lacks some functionalities that Windows boasts. It'll probably never happen, but i'ld like to see windows on a mobile that has the versitility of a Nokia.

Pretty cool. Makes me wish I had one Anyway, 4GB RAM seems pretty miniscule in comparasion to 500GB HDD... Its unbelievable that progress has leaped for HDD, but just took a few steps for RAM.I'm currently on a 2GB RAM/100GB HDD, and I know it just doesn't quite work like this... but shouldn't the RAM be 10GB in comparasion? :rolleyes:Well, maybe you can get 10GB RAM... if not I can see it as 100% possible for the future.
