  1. Actually, as Forte somewhat stumbled upon, the "winner" of each console generation has NEVER been the most technologically advanced (i.e. better graphics). The NES sold less than the Master System (which was like the PS3 of its day), the SNES outsold the Genesis by far, Playstation outsold the N64 and Saturn, PS2 outsold the Cube and Xbox, and now the Wiis owning up the Seventh Generation. :DI think the best thing about the Wii is that it's brining Video Games much more into the mainstream. They're not longer the "toys" of teen boys locked away in a basement for days on end in the dark, they're for everyone. Just like movies and music can be enjoyed by anyone of any shape, size, or age, so can videogames.Although the Wii will always be a Revolution at heart, I'm glad they changed the name because it made it more accessible and less threatening to the non-gamer market. Nintendo may just save the entire industry from a crash similar to that of 1983.
  2. Fahrenheit 451 a high-level book? No offence, but I read it as a Freshmen for school and it was probably our easiest book that year... And, at least at my school, you might be able to pass using Sparknotes (meaning a low D on the test) but really, why sacrifice your grade for something so easy? Of Mice and Men is really good (not to mention fairly short) and it makes you take a different look at people, who they really are inside. You've gotta love Lenny and sympathsize with George and even though the ending was so blatently foreshadowed, it's still really shocking... BTW, networker, The Grapes of Wrath was written by Steinbeck as well... maybe that's why you saw so many similarities? I read it this year for school and it was a LOT longer. It contained a lot more... ideas and things to think about and although I did enjoy it, I think I liked the simpleness of OMAM better.
  3. I have mixed feelings about the DSi and although I do want one, I don't think I"ll get one until my pocketbook can afford it (i.e. used). I really don't know how well it'll sell... it seems to be the complete opposite direction that the DS was going. The one thing I dislike about it the most is the lack of GBA. No, I don't really use it much because the only GBA games I have are Zelda (well and one Avatar game I got for my birthday but... like I really ever play that ). What I'm most concerned about that are DS games that actually USE that slot, like the GH On Tour plug in, or the rumble pack. Also, I don't know if the other features, like the dual cameras, are going to be worth it, unless of course they design a game that uses them effectively, which I'm sure Nintendo is capable of. Oh, and I'd like to point out that there IS an internet browser for the current DS (both phat and lite), it's just a separate thing that you have to buy, it's even in a game case. However, that brings up the one thing I am excited in about the DSi: connecting to the Wii and dowloading it's own Virtual Console and WiiWare (well I guess it wouldn't be called that... DSiWare? ). I'm not sure if that'll work with the Phat or Lite, as well, but I really hope it does.
  4. What level are you? 116 P2P / 108 F2P What are your stats? I don't really want to list all of them, but my favorite is 80 construction. My total level is 1815. Where did you train? Lately I've been really busy so if I get a chance to train (combat) I go to Bandits, and I might start afking the apes on Ape Atoll. If you wanna train construction, oak logs all the way. Whats your favorite/least favorite skill? Favorite skill is Construction, least favorite is probably Summoning. I think I'd like it more if I'd started out the game with it, but starting Summoning with fairly high melee stats isn't very fun. What do you like to do for fun The most fun I have on Runescape (and really the only reason I still play) is with the clan I'm in, Instinct. We have all kinds of events, in fact, we just got done with a war.
  5. Yes, that's right, Lakster37 has joined the forums! I knew you'd be waiting for me. Anyways, I'm currently a Junior in High School (from the United States). I don't know if anyone else has even heard about it, but I play an MMORPG called Runescape (my username is the same as this forum account) and a more strategy based game called Tribal Wars. Both can be played in your internet browser without any download, and as far as I've seen, pretty much any computer connected to the internet can play them. For both games, I'm part of a community type organization known as a "clan." We started it almost three years ago now, and I really like it because I get to know people from around the world that I'd never even be able to meet regularly. I've also found that our community surpasses the limits of the games we play, people quit and new people join, but they usually stick around on our forums nonetheless. Currently, we have a forum hosted for free by Zetaboards (http://claninstinct.net/site/), a podcast hosted by MyPodcast.com, we recently set up an online radio with Listen2myradio.com, and we've had a regularly website hosted by HostGator in the past, but it never really worked out which is why I came here. Hope it works out, and I look forward to meeting the rest of you on these forums.
