Hi Baniboy,I play drums too. It's cool that u're also learning the piano; I heard that at the music school they preffer for their drum-students to choose piano as their second instrument. Something to do with the notation being the same. I have never went to music school, which by the way doesn't mean i disapprove. I gathered my 'knowledge' from books, the net, mags, other players and of course: playing! As much as possible! If you're looking for some 'fundamentics', I suggest the book 'snare drum rudiments' by Buddy Rich. He's a jazz giant, and don't be fooled: modern music wouldn't be what it's today without him, and a lot of others from the 'golden oldies' I am a believer in that every musisian should be aware of it's rich history, and not just be stuck to one 'form' or 'discipline'. Example: the double-bass drum, nowadays so widely used in metal 'n such, was first used by Louis Belson in... Jazz. Anyway. this is not meant as a lecture, but more as an encourigement! Hi, I'm new here, actually this is my first reaction, so yeee to me :PI saw that somebody has 'the brotherhood of the Wolf' on it's list, saying that it's not in english. I do have an english version, however. Dubbed, of course, but non the less :PI quite liked it, although I wouldn't put it on my list, but of course, who can argue with taste, and I'm not about to!
