Demons in the catholic faith are said to be fallen angels. An angel is a being below a human. once they decide on something they can never change there mind, Lucifer was one of the ones who lead a revolt against God claiming to be stronger than God, so God banished him from heaven. I have no degree in this but these are all the things I have been told growing up so some might not be true. Daemons only can affect you if you give them attention, that is to say that you are more likely to be inhabited by one if you invite them in by rituals, or by asking them to come. Exorcisms are in place to deal with demons. High ranking clergy are called to expel the demons from the body of the possessed. I believe the clergy who performs the exorcism is specially formed in seminary to deal specifically with demons should they ever need to. A lot of what is thought of as demon possession might just be psychological disorders so you should be seen by a psychiatrists before assuming that the person is possessed. Although you can pick what disorder you have by who you see so there is a chance that they will confirm you as having some mental disorder because you came to see them.

my sister has read the whole series and says there all really good. She cant wait for the movie to come out. She generally likes books about sci-fi and romance so if you are into either of those topics then sure give it a try. Me personally my schedule doesnt permit it so I will wait for the movie and watch it then. Hopefully the movie is as good as she says the books are.

I am catholic and fairly uninformed when it comes to the elections I admit that much. I have just recently heard about this, and to this I will say a couple things... if you search hard enough you can find someone who will say what you want to hear, so yes I do imply that a very few minority of Catholics take this stance. That being said you must look at the totality of the person that you vote for, it is easier to look at a single issue and vote based on that but it does seem an obvious contradiction that the term pro-life can be used by any one candidate due to the fact that one supports war and another abortion. Since that distinction is made then it reveals that both candidates support the loss of life, abortion can never be supported because there is no just abortion. however I don't believe that the war is a valid one either, and I believe that the holy See has addressed this, although I could be wrong...has happened before . I believe the reasons that someone voted for either candidate constitutes weather they should confess anything, I do know that in my parents generation (baby boomers) the church recommended confession at least every 2 weeks, now in my generation I find less and less people are faithful to this. Why? lack of understanding. This is another issue in its entirety but I would say that it is never a bad thing to go to confession. the church will never deny anyone communion unless they are excommunicated (more on this as it pertains to the issue at hand, by a cardinal, here...), and this is a bit of a process from what I understand. It is a recommendation that you don't go to communion unless you are totally free of sin, but I know for a fact that many people fail to do this (including me) In saying this I also acknowledge that receiving communion while in a state of sin constitutes another sin...a sin is anything that keeps you from recognizing Christ or rather anything that destroys your humanity in as much as you can be you. So to sin is to commit an error against yourself, and thus confession is a beautiful thing. If you believe this then you cant believe science, they both start from the same point and religion is the thing that affirms science and everything else in life. This is a really big topic but I do believe one priest I know does it justice, if you have time there is a series of 5 clips of Albacete v. Hitchens on YouTube...num 1 is located here he is able to get a few points across on there that strike me as true if you are still interested after that I recommend God at the Ritz (by Albacete) and then search Luigi Guissani for some more interesting points on religion.

If you accidently erase files and try to get it back by installing a file recovery software, there is supposedly still a way to get them back if your using the vista system. vista makes copies of your data through a system called shadow copy, it makes copies of all the files, only you cant access this on home basic or premium....unless you install shadowExplorer then you could use this to retrieve files...granted backing up is the best way to go.

when watching .iso files (image files) I use daemon tools and VLC otherwise I sometimes use windows media player...although I dont tend to because a lot of the codex must be downloaded to watch...and I find this annoying so I just try to stay away from it. I use Itunes for any .mp4 files and powerdvd is a good one too.

So I have had a history of ear infections, generally they coincide with some other sickness but apparently thats nothing to worry about. Anyways my ear started aching 3 months ago and I figured that I was about to have another ear infection set in so I went to the store and picked up some debrox and one of those little bulbs to help clear out my ears with some water. Did that a couple times, and after I was convinced I had thouroughly cleaned the buggers I went about my day, my ear continued aching for ~ 1 month, but because my job is extremely demanding I couldnt get off to see a doctor. It did seem longer than most ear infections I have had --although there was one that lasted 1 and 1/2 months-- and I noticed that the ear affected had a decrease in hearing, I felt like a grandpa always having to say "speak into my good ear will ya". anyways about the time my work started slowing down the aching went away but I still had the decrease in hearing. yesterday I decided to try to flush the crap outa that ear to try and resolve the problem. after 30 minutes or so of pumping water and debrox into my ear something that looked like a scab fell out... It was ~ 2 inches long and really freaked me out. ever since then I have noticed an immense improvement in my hearing again actually I am back to normal. What I am wondering is should I go in to see a doctor? it seems to me to have resolved itself, but then again that scab was huge could there be some major problems that might develop in the future because of that?

I try to stay away from it myself, because I know that I have an addictive personality...aka if I start something slightly addictive I will tend to overdo it (from sodas). I can say that the best way to stop would be get a girlfriend (and if she is the right one marry her) then when you have married her enjoy the benefits of the marriage. Although I have no actual experience in this, most of the married couples will tell you there is nothing better, and that being true the problem will disapear. Hope you overcome this and I hope I never have this problem.

So I was never really invovled in any sports that required me to wear any protection growing up and now I have moved off and want to start being more active and start learning new sports (football, raquet ball, soccer maybe...) so I am seeing that I will probably want to buy some protective gear and I realize that there are a ton of options that I could go with. When I did a search I found 1. compression shorts 2. jock strap 3. cup as the main three things listed. When I started searching a bit deeper I found that there are actually several different types of cups.1. I am pretty sure I will want a cup, what are the benefits of the different styles? and which cup would be the most comfortable and allow the most use (aka I dont want to have to buy different styles of cups for different sports unless I have to) 2. when getting a cup another good thing for me to know would be...what size do I need? I assume it needs to cover everything right? so what is there some type of measurement that I should take, or is this a one size fits all thing and pray that I am not an exception. 3. when buying a jock strap what size should I look for and is there any difference between the brands, or for that matter if there are different styles which one should I go with?4. what are compression shorts for? if I buy a cup and a jock strap should I get these too? if I get compression shorts what should I be looking for? and I assume these are like regular shorts on the sizes.I think that is all but if anyone has any information for me otherwise it is appreciated. **quick note...please keep it clean.

I generally get to sleep by taking a hot shower then I turn the air on to where it brings the temp down to ~70 (Fahrenheit) and php/java books ftw...although it could be anything. If your not much into reading I sometimes think back on all the things that happened in the day or I think about things I need to do.

I would have to agree...seriously I am not going to know what I am resting on when I die so if it is a small wood box as compared to a cotton linning who cares? The coffin industry is a big scam actually if you ask me. They make up these sentimental stories about taking care of your loved ones then they go off throw em in a box and burry a hole flop em down in it and pile on the dirt and how much money do they make for this?

that is an interesting point. When I studied addiction in my psych class they did say the most effective way to quit would be to replace it with something else. The case was how to quit someking and the teacher had said that he got a girlfriend to quit, and it worked...granted it does sound like he used her a bit because he later dumped her...and consequentially started smoking again. That aside though I believe that this might work. I did a google search on stopping and got a ton of pictures and very little information...so btw never search google for info. The recomended approach I found though was to open all the windows in the room or move your computer into a more open place, they claim that most peoples sense of modesty makes them think twice if they are out in the open...additionally they said that if the activities associated with the bad habit carried over even when not watching the subject try doing other activities like cold showers or exercise. The claim behind the cold shower is that it is a shock to the body and might make the urge less intense...granted from my days camping I know that cold showers suck so if this is not something you can do they did suggest that exercise burns off extra energy. Although as your endurance builds you may actually increase your sex drive, but hopefully the period it takes to build up your endurance to physical activites allows you to break any existing addiction. One of my friends had a problem with this once and he said that none of that worked for him so he installed some software on his computer to block all the sites so no matter how much he wanted to start watching the videos and pics they just werent available to him. Someone had advised him to think of the nastiest thing he could imagine so he started watching shows like CSI and Dexter (I believe thats what it is called...the one about the serial killer) and he got netflicks and rented some of the top rated horror flicks. From what I understand he no longer suffers from any addiction. One option that is available is put yourself in a highly social situation, in front of a community who cares for you it would be harder to waste time watching the stuff...especially if the people in the community are a bit pushy, that is one of the reasons that I never really got into the stuff myself.

World Of Warcraft Addiction Your view on WoW addiction
xenador replied to Picardim's topic in Science and Technology
I used to play wow I had a 70 hunter on detheroc and belonged to a large guild. I wouldnt say wow is bad in and of itself. It is a fun way to waste time, but it is crucial to realize this before you start. The begining it seems like it will be a good way to spend an hour but it progressively gets longer due to higher lvls and harder quest, then endgame stuff...it is possible to play wow as a hobby if you have a normal social life and friends that keep up with you IRL that is, also endgame == high tendency to waste too much time. The runs at the least take 1hr but most take closer to 8 hours when you are starting with a new guild...some can be done in less than 4 hrs but regardless...lots of time to waste per a day each week gearing and grinding. The reason I quit...wow was getting in the way of my life, I had lived in a small town with not much to do but at a certain point (when I was able to drive) I found out that there was more than just my small town and started going to other towns to meet friends etc and have fun in general, wow became a burned on my life at that point and so I quit it...I would argue there is no "addiction" because I never suffered withdraws but I believe the term is being used in the sense that you establish relationships ingame and if you value those more than those IRL then your desire takes over and the game becomes the medium in which you participate, the problem with this is you need someone in front of you to have a friendship, and no virtualized representations dont count, because then the power fails and your friendship is ended. Sad situation. new slogan: Wow is not addicting friendships are, we should ban friendships (lol) -
hmm...I would actually look at the type of clothing you wear before trying other things. If you are trying to improve your sperm healthiness I would guess its problems with infertility, in that case wear looser pants and try not to keep your phone in your front pants pocket but rather find some other place for it. none of the studies has come up with conclusive data on whether or not the cell causes decreased fertility but it is looking like it increases chances of cancer. it only takes one sperm making it to the egg to produce the desired results but the problem is the uterine lining is etremely acidic so that is why the typical ejaculation produces 20 million sperm on average...if you produce less than 100,000 this is considered infertile. It is interesting because there are indications that the y chromosome is becoming smaller and smaller, and this may result in more infertile males, some theories suggest that the y chromosome may cease to exists in the next couple of decades.

supposidly sex is a total body workout, so the actions associated with watching porn can help you stay in shape I guess...although that action is a bit less invovled than sex but some studies have suggested that people who do watch porn are ~ 1/2 as likely to have a heart attack... albiet I would say that watching porn does have its negatives. It gives you an unrealistic expectation of what you want in a spouse, and it is addicting from all the studies I have seen.

so I have heard a little bit about the new neural impulse actuator by OCZ tech and was wanting to get some more info on it before going out and getting it. From what I have heard it doesnt quite make up for the keyboard mouse interface of most games, but it does help speed up game play. Supposidly you set controls via facial expressions etc...one of the people has a little bit of an anger problem though so each time he starts shouting he says it starts doing things he didnt intend it to do. guess he will have to learn how to let his anger out without letting it know. It does have a toggle on off portion from what I understand. Although it is a bit large IMO, I would like to see this integrated into car systems and phones, I think it would be cool but before they ever do that they might need to make it a bit mroe ergonomic.

New Javascript Engine For Firefox Tracemonkey
xenador replied to xenador's topic in Science and Technology
Well it is all theory for me because I am having a ton of problems due to the jump to vista...so until I resolve those issues I am not trying to create any new problem due to beta versions and unknown bugs. Having said that I can elaborate on how the engine is "supposed to operate". The new tech in Tracemonkey is a technique called "trace trees" which is a tech developed at UC Irvine by Andreas Gal. Reviews of the software claim that image processing done via JS is improved up to 6x or 7x, they said most other operations see a boost of up to 40x's...most of those being simple loops etc...it is supposed to compete with other native languages...but I see problems for it, javascript has no cross browser compatability...its nowhere near portable enough to be used alone, and granted I might use it I do realize that a ton of visitors to site still prefer using Internet Exploder (IE) to the better browsers, so this limits how much I can code in AJAX etc...I am hopeful that the updates might make JS something that is standard cross browsers, but it looks like I may be waiting, some say that it will come out in one of the next patches in a released form, but techspot is reporting it will probably be more around the 4.0 release, regardless I will give chrome a try but still use mozilla as my standard. I forget where I saw the chrome vs. tracemonkey one but here is the current FF3(spidermonkey) vs. new tracemonkey -
So I was doing a little research because a lot of the sites that I vist are starting to use AJAX in there sites to speed up the whole process and overall make the sites a lot better, only problem mozilla hangs a lot now, I am using the FF beta version granted, but I never realized that the JS engine sucked so much until I encountered this. Luckily I wasnt the only one to have noticed this, as FF has a new JS engine in the betas already, its called tracemonkey and supposidly it beats out any other JS engine on the market. Hopefully they get it out of the nightly builds and into a final realease state so I can start using it.

Google Launches G1 Cell Phone G1 running on android launched
xenador replied to shddgfgc's topic in Science and Technology
I watched a demo on the G1 and supposedly the one thing that makes it really good (the Android operating system) can actually be used on other phone models, granted its not the easiest thing to do.
