Personally I used http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ for awhile. They insert a small Google adsense ad in your column but I didn't mind. It was powered by Wordpress so it was the easiest choice for me.

Now that I think of it, your "friend" is probably hoping you'll eventually give up on trying to collect what is rightfully yours... LOL I've done that to someone in the past.

Ergh sorry I didn't have the page I was going to cite bookmarked. I know that the Tmo servers had been hacked at one time. Sidekick data is stored on Danger servers I believe. Anyway... hacked or not, it can happen to anyone. The lesson to be learned is to keep sensitive data out of your handset.

Snl the sidekick device itself can't be hacked. I'm sure you're referring to the Hilton pics and phonebook that made it out on to the net.. It was discovered that the only reason the information from her device was acquired was because someone figured out her desktop interface password. I'm sure her password was something simple like "thathot". I wouldn't be surprised. Anyway, I try and keep my private pics on flickr and not in my DI. That way I won't worry if someone does manage to get into my DI.

I did a quick search and noticed that this service had not yet been mentioned here. You can check the service out here: https://basecamp.com/retired/backpack Basically it's an online organizer. I just started using it on monday. I've transfered all of my todo items and reminders. I'm working on transfering my notes right now. Basically you can create personal pages to keep yourself organized. You can also setup reminders to be sent to you email or mobile device. I have my reminders text messaged to me. They just added a mobile version for quick access on your mobile handsets. The free service is limited to 5 personal pages and 10 active reminders. More then adequate for students or light users.

What Is Your Favorite Website
unfortunate replied to allabout42's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I have my homepage set to http://del.icio.us/. I love being able to browse through the latest bookmarks that people submit. I would never find half the stuff I enjoy on the net without social bookmarking services like del.icio.us. -
My ideal job would have to be in marketing/advertising. I love cooking up ideas and logo designs for companies. I'm hoping I can slowly work my way up the chain at a local firm after graduating from college.

Just found Xisto today via Google. I was looking for some reliable free hosting. I'm planning on setting up a WP blog. I considered hosting my blog on one of my computers but realized I didn't want to host something locally. Interests... well I'm always on the go so I'm into anything mobile. I'm usually online 24/7 either on my Powerbook, PC, or Sidekick II. Anything that has to do with tech is my area of expertise. Let me know if you need any help with anything.

Two kids is good for me. I already have one so I'm half way there.. I think I'll wait another 5 or six years before planning for hte second.

The second one is the best out of the three IMO. You might want to consider sharpening the image a little bit. The text also seems out of place. I'm sure there is a free font file you can find to match the content of the sig. Find a font that has to do something with video games. I'm no video game buff so I'm not even going to try and guess what character you've used in that sig.Don't take my advice the wrong way.. I'm not bashing or anything.. just sharing my thoughts.

Anyway To Link Files From Your Harddrive To A Site?
unfortunate replied to lil_chris's topic in General Discussion
Why would you want to host files on your pc? The only real route would be to turn your computer into a PC server. Keep in mind that you'll have to sacrifice performance and your connection speed when people access your site. I say just take the time to upload the files to a free host online. You might want to check out Ourmedia. They provide free storage and bandwidth for video, audio, text, photos, software... I'm sure you'll want to be careful uploading copyrighted content. -
Wiki? How come you didn't check out wikipedia? Thats one of the first places I check out when looking for answers. I make sure to cross reference whatever I find though. You can never really trust one source which is constantly being updated. Answers.com is another good reference worth bookmarking.

The whole idea of the web accelerator was to give the illusion that pages loaded faster. In reality, what was happening was the GWA was clicking links to preload content so the end user wouldn't have to wait for pages to actually load.Prefetching content for users.

Best Handset For Gprs The best handset, good for GPRS Connectivity
unfortunate replied to alan's topic in Mobile Phones
Judging by some of the other posts I've read in the forums here, I'm getting the feeling that most of you are from Europe. I can tell you from experience that internet connectivity via GPRS at its best is comparable to dialup. Slow.. gutwrenching slow to be honest. That's at its optimal service. The 6100 was one of my first phones so I speak from experience. I'm not sure what type of service options you have access to but I would recommend nothing less than a 3G connection with a bluetooth cell phone paired to your computer or laptop. -
Why are you even considering reporting this all to a teacher? Do you really think your teacher is going to resolve the situation for you? S/he won't. There is nothing the teacher can do to help you out. Your best choice is to file a police report. Friend or no friend, you were scammed.
