  1. Any Mets fans here?I'm getting chills and blasts of memories from last year, now that the Phillies are just 1 game behind us. Sunday's game was just brutal, it was like a good movie with a really bad ending(No Country For Old Men). The good news is that we'd be winning the wild card if the Phillies passed us, but after last year, I'm not content with settling with the wild card. We need to tell the Phillies that we are the better team, you guys got lucky last year and it's not happening again. I mean, we even went out and got Johan Santana, and he was supposed to be the difference maker. Of course, this year we have some bad injuries(Maine and Wagner) that might cost us. We need a real closer to pitch for us, instead of this Luis Ayala guy, it's really unfortunate that Billy Wagner had to get hurt down the stretch. And during the off season we might need to sign a FA, maybe Brian Fuentes or K-Rod. I don't think we'll get K-Rod though because we still have to pay Billy Wagner's salary.Let's hope for the best, because I don't know what I'm going to do in October if the Mets don't get in.

  2. I don't think movies and video games desensitize people. Yes, they are seeing blood. Yes, they are killing people in games. But it all comes down to this question: do they know that they're not in real life? I've played tons of bloody games, and seen countless movies with death and destruction. I watch it knowing that this is just a movie, it's not real. When I saw a pool of blood for the first time in real life, it was completely different from a being immersed in a made up world. I remember thinking, "Wow. So this is what blood looks like". Violence in games and movies are not the same as violence in real life. It's much more real(for lack of a better word) in real life.

  3. Maybe these societal morals are embedded into our minds by genetics. Let's say that love comes naturally. Human beings can love without society telling them that they can love. Let's also say that when a loved one dies, or is hurt, humans feel grief naturally as well. Perhaps morality stems from these two conjectures: morality stems from emotions. Murder is wrong because you don't want you or your loved ones to die. Stealing is wrong because it's not fair for someone to take away something you worked hard on. So in all, no one decided these things, it came about naturally. For some of the other things like drugs and smoking, they kill you, so it's wrong. Green lights mean go and red lights mean stop is arbitrary and is just there to prevent people from dying from car accidents.

  4. It seems the younger generation seem to be more tech savvy. For example, students at school whilst I was attending Primary school in the mid 90s tend to be more smarter on tech-savvy products and learning products. Computers are a blatantly obvious example, with most students tend to know more about computers than "most" teachers, especially the older teachers. But when it comes to the programming side of things, yes, obviously younger people and those in their 20s or even early 30s tend to know a lot about code, the backend and how the programs/applications (especially on the internet side of things), work.

But the thing is, younger people grew up with this stuff, so it's a lot easier to pick up, so the younger generation is not really smarter, just accustomed to new things.

Anyways, yes I think the younger generation is smarter. They learn from the mistakes the last generation made, like polluting, wars, violence, smoking, alcohol, disobeying laws, murder, suicide, racism, etc. Also, because we grow up seeing the bad things and learning to make it better. That's what the younger generation is taught to do.

That seems unlikely, because by your logic, problems would be eliminated quickly if each generation learned from the mistakes of the previous generation. War still occurs, violence is still everywhere, and genocides are still happening.

  5. I've only been snowboarding once and skiing once, and I can tell you I have a lot more respect for snowboarders. Skiing was really easy to learn compared to snowboarding, and a lot less painful. After my first day of snowboarding, I was sore, everywhere, from falling.I haven't done any of the other things though.

  6. Well, I want to use an outside program to do this, so Sessions wouldn't really work right? And I don't want a login thing, I only want my program to be able to add to this database, rather than certain people.I guess I could use Post, but that would only be slightly more secure since you can just look at the headers.Sorry about the confusion.

  7. Pros:Very LightweightChrome's new Javascript engine is very fastIncognito Mode(aka porn mode)Each tab is a separate process which means when one tab crashes, not all of them do like in FirefoxCons:No add-onsI don't think I could notice a difference in speed, so the add-ons make me stick with Firefox. And Firefox doesn't crash enough for me to switch over for the tab process thing.

  8. I really really disagree with homosexuality. The most evident reasons are that gay people make me feel sick, make me puke! dunno, I can't stand the way they talk, the way they walk... They have born males, why should they act like females? Anyway, let's pass on the real arguments.Almost in any kind of science, to prove something, you assume that it is the opposite of what you want to prove, and then, judging by the opposite, you get a totally wrong or absurd conclusion. Now, let's apply this technique in here. Let's assume that being gay is natural, and all people are gay (:)). What will happen, is that they won't be able to make kids, and the whole humanity life would end in one generation. This means that people aren't supposed to be gay , so I totally think that being homosexual is wrong. This is my strong and solid belief about being gay.

Being gay is not a choice, it's based on genetics. The reason why homosexuality is not weeded out by natural selection, is that the homosexuality gene benefits females, something like that.

That being said, something defined by your genetics should never be defined as right or wrong. It's akin to saying having black skin is wrong. Or that blond hair is right. It's not something you can control.

Even if it wasn't genetic, what are they doing that is so wrong? How does loving someone become immoral because they are both the same gender? Whose right is it to prevent them from loving each other because they are homosexual?

Homosexuality is wrong people individuals are not made to be with the same GENDER why cant people get that threw there head its ****ing distgusting so for all you guys and girls out there who are gay or lesbian I'm glad you feel the need you need the same gender to feel some love from someone !!

Again, genetics. They were actually made to love people with the same gender.

  9. I absolutely love StarCraft. I love it to the point that I still play with my friends even though I have quit like 5 or 6 times. Playing online almost never gets boring with the variety of options.Your first option is a regular melee game. Blizzard has made this game as balanced as a game can get between the three races(Except for tanks. Screw tanks). With each race you have your advantages and disadvantages. Zerg can build mass amounts of cheap units, Protoss has strong, expensive units. Terran has tanks. Individual units of each race can countered, some are easier, others are harder(tanks), dragoons are owned by zerglings, mutalisks are raped by corsairs. And what makes StarCraft so great is that it's so hard to get good. You have to think fast, react fast, micro your units well, out flank your opponent, scout to see what he's making so you can counter in time, all at the same time as keeping up unit production, making peons, and expanding. In short, micromanagement and macromanament at the same time is hard. And watching NaDa or Boxer do all of this is just great. Then, if you're not feeling hardcore enough to play melee, you can just chill and play some UMS. Play some Weed D, or some classic Evolves. Maybe if you're feeling it, some Nuke the Whales. And of course, you have to try Strip Hermione. :)Oh yeah there's also a Campaign, but I didn't really like that(single player isn't my thing). All in all, Starcraft is awesome. Go play it.

  10. The last movie I saw on TV was just a few hours ago - V For Vendetta, which was amazing. Last new movie I saw was Iron Man, which was also really good. I was expecting a generic hero type story where the guy saves people from robbers and stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised.Last movie I saw in theaters was The Dark Knight. I don't really have to say anything about this one. :)

  11. I'm going to make a PHP called add.php?item=example&price=999, that will an item and price to a database. I plan to access this page via an external program, but I don't want users to be able to add things into the database.I've thought about using cookies to restrict access, but they can just look at the headers being sent and imitate that cookie. I've also thought about encrypting, which will make it a little harder. Is there an even better way to solve this?

  12. I don't like watching soccer very much, it's too slow for me. I really tried to like it, but all I see is the ball getting kicked back and forth, with attempts to score dispersed between the 90 minutes. I do like watching highlights of Cristiano Ronaldo though. It's pretty fun to watch him own people.Playing soccer is better than watching, but I like using my hands and arms. :)
