  1. If you are playing a sport with us don't try to let us win all the time.

Agreed! Hey, if you're better at a sport, show it! That's the perfect way to be able to spend more time together--because the guy will almost always be competitive enough to keep trying.

I have to disagree with number 1. I know for a fact if a girl throws herself on me I cannot resist. Guys are weak to their sexual urges so if you are super hot it will be a lot easier to get guys. Dress to impress. If you are wearing cloths that make you look unsexy then you lower your chances of guys noticing you. Most times guys will be shy just like you probably are so just make the first move, Saying Hi can be enough to get the ball rolling. You will never know if you don't take a chance right? Keep the conversation simple, threes been many times where I've gotten hints from girls but I'm too slow to follow lol, After they are gone I finally click but its too late. If your interested make sure he knows.

Seriously, guys are only as weak as they lead themselves to believe. However, guys generally do have strong urges, as "sonesay" pointed out. And while I think you shouldn't dress in disgusting apparel, I also think that dressing modestly is a good idea. I think guys respect girls that respect themselves. You may not draw as much attention as the partly-dressed crowd, but you'll be attracting the "stronger" guys.

    Imm a femallee.Of course. =]

And I use to never get any guy in my bed. Than I relizedd. What am I doing wrong? I make my self looking goood. I'm bubbly. Not too clingy. Smiles.. Flirts.. D size boobs. With a slim body and bubble butt haha but I never had my breats out for guys to see or anything. So instead they always go for the girls with their nipple nearly showing and a dress so wen they bend over yuu can see their undies. I don't want to lower my slef down. But is that the only way?

    Please help.

If all you want is sex, I guess that's the easiest way. You'll get sex, but no respect, and no guy is going to really care about anything but your body if that's all you advertise. If you dress modestly and only advertise your character, your likes, your dislikes, etc., any guy that shows interest in you is probably more genuine.

I would say that any guy like the ones you described are probably not worth trying to get.

And I'm a guy, in case you don't see my avatar.

  2. First of all, do YOU like HER? You spent the entire post talking about how she might or might not like you... but there seems to be no reciprocation.Anyway, just ask her sometime about your relationship. Tell her that you feel uncomfortable with the mixed messages she's sending. It surely sounds like you're uncomfortable, unless I completely misread your post and you actually didn't say half the stuff you did. If she says she likes you, and the feeling is mutual, be sure to bring up her current boyfriend as an issue. If she doesn't, she'll probably realize what she's been doing, and will likely be a little embarrassed or uncomfortable herself, but she should get over it. And you can continue to be her friend with a little more clarity in the definition of the friendship.

  3. Hell is not a place under the earth. It is not some "alternative heaven". Rather, I believe that the Bible clearly shows that the earth will one day be burned as a cleansing act in the end. There are several names for "hell" in the Biblical languages: Gehenna was a place near the "refuse gate" of Jerusalem--literally the city's dump; Hades/Sheol is the grave. None of them is referring to a special torture chamber.I don't believe that God wishes for sinners to burn forever. When Revelation speaks of an unquenchable fire, I take it to mean that no being can put it out. However, It will stop burning when the fuel (sin) is burnt out. It has to; God plans on rebuilding the earth (the "New Jerusalem").Not all sinners will perish in "hell". Seriously, that's what Jesus died to prevent. He was our proxy.

  4. And to curtis....It's a nice theory but I'm not completely sure if it's proven. Can you really say that if we get, lets say 300 new people who all get accepted for hosting....And it costs...Assume $1.50 a month for each...Can you really say that Trap would be earning another 450 a month off advertising, minimum?

Well, I suppose it isn't exactly proportional, but Xisto IS a free part of a larger business. I would imagine that the more users that are on the forums, the more users there will be that move up to paid hosting through Xisto - Web Hosting/Xisto. Sort of like a "try-before-you-buy" deal, the larger the user base, the larger the group of actual customers. It's just a theory.

  5. What's with the Internet forums?! I can't seem to post there. I'm a member level 1, so it should work, but after I post, they don't actually show up. If they eventually do, the admins will likely be angry at me for triple-posting. I tried to post there twice, then gave up and went to another section (computers >> networks, or something like that). Are they waiting to be approved like the tutorial section does? It doesn't say that anywhere.

  6. I'm looking for a good SMB (Windows file sharing protocol) web-based file indexer and search engine for my college network. There are a couple of sites for that purpose already, but the admins will likely graduate soon, and I want to improve on their sites anyway.

These have some good things about them, but I'm wondering if anyone has a "perfect" LAN file indexer. I'm all about free/open source, too.

    http://www.zaval.org/products/file-search/
    http://beagle-project.org/
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/smbindex/

  7. The more registered users Xisto gets, the more the posts pile up. The more posts there are, the more the visitors there are. The more the visitors become, the higher the ad-click rate becomes. Thus Xisto should be able to handle the new costs. I think it would work out.

  8. I'm looking for a good SMB (Windows file sharing protocol) file/folder indexer. There are already two sites one can use at my school to access the campus-wide shares, but both have severe issues. I want something that can crawl and index shares, has a pretty web front end, and can browse hosts. Here are some I've looked at, but I'm still in search of something better:

I would really like something that is simple to get running, and I also like PHP. I hope it's not too much to ask :P

I read this on the forum's index page and decided to congratulate all of the admins/moderators that help make this site so popular. And also the community. And for agent, who made this possible. And my family.... (I suppose I probably took the awards ceremony analogy a bit far.)

    So congrats!

P.S. I really need to get back into helping raise those numbers. I haven't posted for a while.

  10. The entry-level DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera is a good one. I'm assuming you don't want the hassle of film (despite its slight advantages in image quality), and I'm also assuming you're beyond "point, click, print." I would recommend the brands Nikon and Canon. I've used room2593's camera, and it's decent, especially for a beginner. If you are one that enjoys manually setting everything, the Sony's manual focus is a pain. The image stabilization is nice, though. For the average person, I would say the Sony is a good idea. If you plan to do more in the future, I would say don't touch it. And you'll not go wrong with Canon or Nikon. From everything I've found out about DSLRs, they cannot be beaten for quality.Perhaps if price is a large factor, I would go for a point-and-shoot. Canon and Nikon are still excellent choices. I've had great experiences with both.

  11. If you still don't get it, wait for a million years. By then, your brain should have evolved enough to let you understand.

    Nice.

Anyway, yes, room2593 has a good point (and not just because he's my roommate). Natural mutation has NEVER been shown to IMPROVE anything. The definition of "mutation" as I learned it in high school biology, is pieces of chromosomes switching or getting thrown out during cell division. That means that the end product is only ever <= (less than or equal to) the the beginning amount of DNA. How many more chromosomes do we have than single-cell organisms? (Words "single-cell" may help you out.)

  12. Those stupid humans!!!!! When will we see the last of them?!Yeah, this reminds me of that time... times... every week when some idiot pulls a fire alarm or puts metal in a microwave here in my dorm. What is it with people wanting to wreak havoc with others?!

  13. See, this is a prime example of why the bible is bull, its just an instrument to give hope. How can you believe in something because of faith? Faith isn't a reason, it's an excuse because you have no reason. I don't want to go to heaven even if it does exist, i dont mind dieing either because I know with death comes nothing, no worries, no problems, no pain. Why do people ffeel sorry for the dead, its the living who suffer.

Wow. You have no faith? The Bible says (in Hebrews 11:1), "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen." Webster says

1 a: allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty b (1): fidelity to one's promises (2): sincerity of intentions2 a (1): belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2): belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1): firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2): complete trust3: something that is believed especially with strong conviction ; especially : a system of religious beliefs <the Protestant faith>

So you do not trust anything or anyone ever? I've never actually seen the structure of an atom, but I'm pretty sure it has electrons, protons, and neutrons. I've never seen air, but I'd be left wondering what lungs are for if I didn't believe in it.
On your idea of death, though, I somewhat agree. Death should not bring us fear (maybe the fear of what will lead to death should, though). I think that Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy said it well:

Consider how lucky you are that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn't been good to you so far, which given your current circumstances seems more likely, consider how lucky you are that it won't be troubling you much longer.

On yet another note, why is this topic in "health"? Perhaps it should be moved to "religion" or something. This topic is not about death, rather about the "after-death".

  14. In all versions of mac os X if you take a screenshot (Either Command+Shift+3 for entire screen or Command+Shift+4 for only a portion) it saves your image as a png on the desktop by default. No need to install any additional software.

Well, I've had the same experience. I use the Mac screenshot utility all the time, and I've never had it save to anything but PNG. However:

Different versions of Mac OS X have different formats for screenshots.
    * Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar): jpg
    * Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther): pdf
    * Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and later: png

In Mac OS X 10.4 and later, the default screenshot format can be changed, by opening Terminal (located at /Applications/Utilities/Terminal) and typing in:

    defaults write com.apple.screencapture type image_format
    killall SystemUIServer

Where image_format is one of jpg, tiff, pdf, png, bmp or pict (among others). If you omit the second line, you will need to log out and in again for the change to take effect.

I found this at macrumors. If you follow the link you can find more helpful information on the subject.

It seems to me that you probably have 10.3 if you have been the only user of your computer, and you'll need to use one of the utilities mentioned.

  15. Well evolution isn't really much a theory, it's a fact, it's been proven. When I said don't take my word for it but its been proven as the egg, i actually meant "ITS THE DAMN EGG, PROVEN"

First of all, what are you trying to say? Your sentences are a bit broken and out of order.

Secondly, if you are trying to say that evolution is a fact, I adamantly disagree. One cannot PROVE the origin of the universe. This is a fatal flaw in many a "scientist's" thinking. I mean, if evolution is proven, how come it keeps changing? I remember the days when the Big Bang was all the buzz. Now it's whatever you want it to be. If I wanted to believe that life started when two iron atoms collided (never mind where the two atoms came from), the scientific community would applaud my creative thinking and celebrate my membership to the cause. However, as soon as I even whisper the words, "Intelligent Design," I get stones thrown at me from every direction for being a religious fanatic.

    They are BOTH THEORIES!!!

I don't care how much evidence any theory has--it isn't fact. It isn't proven. You can only prove what it's not. And neither evolution nor creation has been disproved. They both have an enormous amount of evidence to back them up, but they are still theories. Evolution may be taught as fact, but let's remember that the scientific community has been wrong before.

On a slight tangent, universe origin and morality are very similarly dealt with. Anyone can have his or her own beliefs and will be accepted, unless religion is part of it. Who decided that religion makes people less credible? I would think that people should be able to see that people choose religion based on their own beliefs and do NOT choose beliefs based on their own religion. People weigh religion and find that it is believable, check it against sources, and decide what to do. People weigh beliefs, and make sure their religion is in check with what their true values are. Otherwise, the search begins again.

And by the way, I am a creationist. It makes the most sense to me, and evolution seems far-fetched. That's my own opinion. And I'm not a religious fanatic; I weigh the possibilities every time I see a conversation like this. I can see why people would believe in evolution, I just don't believe it myself.

  16. The question should be: "Which came first: the chicken or the zygote?" Just to be technical, an egg is only a half-cell. You cannot get a chicken from an egg. You can, however, get a chicken from an egg fertilized by sperm--a zygote. So I voted "chicken" because an egg could not come first.Oh, and OpaQue, the first chicken came before Noah. There was quite a family tree before Noah's chicken. Also, how do you know that Noah didn't have the chicken and rooster on the ark have a zygote together and then kill the chicken for breakfast one rainy morning and just keep the baby chick after it hatched on dry land? Well, do you?!

  17. I always build my own. Newegg.com has some great deals on parts all the time, and I know what I'm doing. If you know how to build a computer, why would you ever look in a Dell catalog? Unless you have some crazy deal, you should be able to build one for less. Also, building a computer yourself allows you to use whatever specifications you want. You don't have to upgrade your hard drive to get the package with more RAM if you don't want to.Okay, I just had to add that it's hilarious that elhadi has 9 spam stickers so far. Why would he do that? It's just kind of funny.

  18. Just use phpBB with a video mod or something. I'm sure they have a good mod out there that will allow you to accomplish what you need. Or try Wordpress or Wordpress MU. I have used all of these, and they are wonderful, as well as free. As for Wireimage, I don't know. I have always thought that having your own website is the best. You can install any open source php program you want and tweak it to your own liking.

  19. Not only is this the shortest post I've ever seen, it got a GOLD STAR from somebody! Maybe someone accidentally bumped the mouse up one and over two from the spam button. Awakashaya is lucky that there is an epileptic gold-star-giver on the loose. And Awakashaya, don't spam! Please. Yes, you're new, and we could tell--not only from your post, but from the number "1" under your name. And welcome to Xisto.

  20. If you want to say "thank you", you don't have to leave a one-liner explaining that. Just use the snazzy little green cross button on the bottom-right of a comment and that person will receive a thank-you "sticker". If you have more to say than just a simple thanks, by all means, post it. The moderators won't mind if you say a couple lines here or there if a reply doesn't require too much, they're mostly going to try and stop people from going around these forums saying stupid stuff like, "I totally agree with you on that" to the most random things. They're just trying to get a bunch of credits without putting any thought into posting.Oh, and WELCOME! This IS the best free hosting site on the planet as far as I know. I've looked at bajillions of sites and have not found anything close.

  21. Okay, you're getting advice from someone that has quad-booted a MacBook, so I should be fairly credible, if I do say so myself.

Use the "Disk Utility" after booting up with the OS disk. I believe that on the live disk, it is on one of the top menus during the beginning of the install, before the files start copying. Click on your hard drive on the left. Then click on the "Partition" tab at the top. You can create your Mac partition and leave the rest with another partition. If you only use MacOS, make it the normal "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" file system. If not (if you want to dual-boot with Windows, etc.), post back and I can help you with a list of good file system alternatives. Actually, I'll list some in a second. I also have another post here: Quad-Boot a MacBook that may help in that case.

In the Mac file system, Tiger will be able to read and write. No worries. Macs can also read and write to fat32, but there are serious stupid setbacks to using fat32 (2GB file size limit, for example). NTFS (Vista and XP) can be read, but not written to. Ext3 (popular Linux file system) is excellent, but there is only a partially-working open source driver for Macs. I would suggest going with the default Mac HFS+ (the extended, journaled one, as I suggested earlier).

I am kinda wondering why you would want to freshly install Mac every 3-4 months. That seems a bit extreme. I only reinstall Windows every year, and never reinstall any other OS. You may have some issues with a program if that's what's necessary.

Best of luck! Hopefully I'm not too confusing. Excellent idea to have two partitions, by the way.

  22. The best way to gain admin access is asking a current admin... wait....Horrible idea. If you want to override a school firewall to gain access to Xisto forums, I might help you. It looks to me like you want to access others' personal files or in some way harm your school's computers. That is unlawful, and should result in some serious consequences. Unless you have a good reason (like you just started working for the computer lab there and none of the current admins have any idea how to add you), you shouldn't do it. Actually, asking that sort of question is against the agreement you made with Xisto here. I wouldn't be surprised if a moderator took special note of that.I love you username, though. I've never read the books (I hear they're good), but the movie was insanely hilarious.

  23. Don't start school in one country and finish in another. Half your credits won't do you any good if you decide to do it that way. If you know you will finish a degree, however, it should be good anywhere. In that case, I would recommend Canada.I have lived in Canada and the U.S., and I like both countries. I think Canada is more beautiful, but the cost of living is higher. Moving from Nova Scotia to Missouri was a huge difference in scenery and price. I guess you get what you pay for, even in citizenship! As for education, though, you will get a similar program with similar results for much less in Canada. Actually, Canada is known for a better educational system (before college, granted) than the U.S.A. So is half the world, but at least they speak the same language in Canada. Just remember to "u" your favourite colours and "que" your bank cheques.
