    DOOM 3!

Maybe in a couple years when the price has gone down and I have a better computer. Even if it would run on my computer, I don't think I'd buy it right now. Too many other games to buy. Like Thief 2. Edit: I'm lucky. I was watching my dad play Half-Life when I was around ten Besides, it provides a convenient excuse if I become a mass-murderer someday
  2. Well, it doesn't seem to recognize lee-kelly as a valid MySQL server. Use localhost.
  3. I wouldn't test them locally. Maybe if I wasn't too lazy to install Apache, but the web server could still be configured differently, as chinfo says.
  4. What systems do you own? I assume you have a PC, but I can't help you much since I don't know how powerful your computer is or what games you have...
  5. Metal Gear Solid's not bad, but the story really starts to interfere with the sneaking, especially towards the end. MGS is fun, but if I really want to be stealthy I prefer Thief.
  6. I want to have some warning before I die so I have the time to take care of what needs to be done and concentrate on what's important.

    PHP Games

PHP wouldn't be good for making games unless you wanted a turn-based online game or something similar. Flash seems to be popular if you don't need a very sophisticated game that you want to distribute on the web (also gets around the concern of virii being hidden in .exe files). You might also want to look into Java applets.
  8. Guess which one I have. :PI would like a PS2, but I'm happy with my Gamecube at the moment. Maybe if the price goes down some more.

  10. If I ever get around to it, I would like to try Linux.I'll still use Windows for playing my copy of Thief, of course
  11. I don't have Linux, but I've heard Red Hat and Mandrake are good for newbies. I believe Knoppix can be burned to a CD and run from there, so that may be convenient for you. If you don't mind shelling out a little money, you may want to buy a Red Hat or Mandrake CD (or however they're distributed. Like I said, I don't have Linux... yet ).
  12. I like the idea, but some people might not feel like there's a whole lot to talk about...
  13. I don't like thinking up user names for forums and the like.
  14. I don't think my ISP allows you to put web servers on your computer. And it's not like I could just switch to a different ISP, since I'm only 13 and I don't have the money to pay for Internet access. =P
  15. I usually don't care as long as it doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out.
  16. What's the link to the chatroom, and could you post the source code? It would be easier to figure out what's wrong if we could see what you're trying.

    PHP Games

No matter what, you'll need to know PHP.What do you want to do with PHP? Do you want to allow people to play against each other? If that's the case, you'd probably have to use sessions or cookies, but that's all the advice I can give you. I'm not an expert on PHP by any means.
  18. I just use notepad for writing Java code. For a compiler, I use the compiler Sun distributes. I've heard there are some good IDEs out there, but I've never needed one.

    Java Help

Javascript is easier and more convenient to use, but Java can be used for standalone applications and is overall much more powerful. As for the script you want, it would better to just do it serverside. If it's an order form and not just some sort of calculator, I assume it would involve serverside scripting anyway, so you might as well do the calculations serverside.
  20. I just use Notepad. It's all I need. I'm sure there are more convenient editors around but I don't care.

    Zelda

I'm probably alone in this opinion but the original Zelda's my favorite. I love OoT as well, but for completely different reasons. The remake with the different dungeons is fun, since it has some great puzzles. LttP's about tied with Ocarina of Time. Edit: Four actually. =) Both NES Zeldas and both N64 Zeldas. They didn't include any of the GB Zeldas including LttP since it came out for the GBA.
  22. I'm playing Thief and Viewtiful Joe at the moment. I also like Zelda (the first Zelda).
