Well it is possible. Since PHP and C has similarities. C# in the other hand is very different. I suggest you start learning PHP or C or both first before jumping into C#. I agree with seba. If you learn C you'll have an edge in learning other language since C is a very powerful yet simple language. There's a lot of similarity between C and other languages. So C could be your stepping stone.

they're using flash to do it. i don't think it is possible with only javascripts.

May its an issue of how IE 7 handles javascripts.

firefox is really great if you really want a very customize browser.
