Mineral Foundation Has anyone used mineral foundation before? is it good?
kitto replied to keego's topic in Health & Fitness
I haven't used mineral foundation before, but I think that if you have acne prone skin and you want to wear a foundation, mineral is probably the best bet for you. There are many different brands of mineral foundations, you should have a look and see which one is best. Some even offer samples for cheap so you can try out the foundations and colouring. I like to use http://www.makeupalley.com/ to search for product reviews, this should help you if you want to look up some of the brands you find out. ;)Just keep in mind that mineral foundation is like normal foundation, it may be slightly better for your skin than other foundations, but it's still better to not have anything on (in my opinion) if you can. I'm sure you can build up the coverage heavier to cover up any blemishes, but again, I haven't tried it before. If you have blemishes, you may need to invest in a concealerGood luck and I hope you like them if you do end up trying mineral foundations. -
It really depends on you. Although, I must say... One of the reasons people badmouth Apple products so much is because they can't stand people trying to convert them, haha. I've used Apple products, but I do tend to prefer Windows for my computers.Anyway. I think that if you're unsure... Wait until it's released and see what the new version has to offer you. Maybe go instore (once the buzz has died down) and try it out in person. There's always a difference when you actually see the thing. Oh, and see what plan they may or may not force you to sign, haha.I tend to prefer keeping my technology relatively updated, so... If the iPhone is not locked to one carrier, I would probably go ahead and get it. However, I would be really hesitant to buy it if it wasn't unlocked (or able to be unlocked) because I travel overseas a fair bit and I'm really not going to waste money on roaming.

I had a cellphone at around... 13? I didn't really start using it until a few years later, though. I think it's fine (while they're younger, around 14 years of age) if you start them off as using it for emergency situations (like having to be picked up) as opposed to letting them waste their whole day (and ruin their thumbs) by texting on them all the time, haha. ;)If they don't seem to have a need, I'd hold it off as long as I could, really.

The Great Gatsby And The American Dream Warning, Long Read and Essay
kitto replied to hasaki's topic in General Discussion
I studied this book just last year. It's honestly such a great book (in my humble opinion). I love the imagery, and the way the story unfolds. I don't know, I think having studied it, I found that I loved the novel even more. I liked the recurring themes (corruptions, the green light) and the central theme of it. ;)I really want to reread this book. Nick was an amazing character. I loved how even though Gatsby was flawed, we still like him as a character because of his ability to dream. -
I think that to an extent, yes we are 'equal'. I don't know the background of the person who I'm talking to, they could be lying for all I knew. However, I think that human nature applies, and we're not truely equal, even on the internet. You will always have people you dislike on the internet (even if you don't know them, just judging them from what/how they type), and there's no way to avoid 'groups' on the internet. Even if they aren't, uh... Admins or such, there'll always be people who think that people who have been there longer/posted more, or their friends rank higher than someone you just meet online.I feel like, yes, you can get some semblance of racial equality on the internet, but once anonymity goes out the window, we're no longer equal. Uh... Did I make any sense, or was I just missing the point? :/

Haha. ;)Uh, nice to 'meet' you all! I'm currently in China studying Chinese, but I'm actually from New Zealand!Hope all of you are well, and now to go brush up on the rules more.
