  1. I went to an all boys school for a while, I wasn't exactly the most popular guy, and the way i portrayed myself didn't help too much either. The girls didn't know too much about us, but if one of us were known as 'nerdy', the other guys at school would make sure that was known. I ended up breaking into the more popular group for reasons i regret. Basically, the school was a strict all boys catholic school, and i started being the 'class clown', of course I soon became more popular and had a lot more attention from the girls, but because I was always misbehaving, I ended up making some unwise choices, that have basically ended up ruining my life a few years down the track. My advice to you, stick with what you got, The 'Jocks' that got the beautiful ladies and neglected his studies in high school or a 'nerd' that ends up becoming a civil engineer or doctor, earning hundreds of thousands per year. I know which one I'd rather be. There is always time after school to fall in love. But that is just my opinion, I wish almost everyday that I could turn back the clock and do things right again, although in the end, it is your choice.
  2. For me, WoW is just a cut above the rest, I couldn't see myself playing many others, mainly because a lot of friends play WoW too. The only downside is that you cant move freely in between severs, because when i find out a friend of mine has a high levelled account on a different server I get ticked off that I can't hang out with them .
  3. I fully believe in the death penalty. I believe that if you murder someone, why should mercy be spared on your life? Did you stop to see if anyone would mind before you killed someone? I doubt it, so why should we stop to see if anyone cares if you die. Everyone is cared about in one way or another, so not only are you hurting the person you kill, but their family, and I believe that you do not deserve to live after something like that. I also think it should be spread out to people who commit other sorts of crimes, such as rapists and child molesters. These crimes can ruin the lives of the victims, and shouldn't the criminal also have to pay, and I mean a little more than living for free with 3 free meals a day, and just being bored all the time.
  4. I'm considering buying a laptop soon, so these are some really helpful tips. I would really hate to have it stolen soon after buying it, considering the prices these days!
  5. I am 99 percent against abortion. Maybe because I have a baby myself, I don't know, but I always just ask, what if your mom had an abortion? How would you feel? (You wouldn't) In the case of rape/incest/etc I understand, or if you are not in the physical state to carry/deliver a baby, also understandable. However, the money or maturity issues? Get over it.If you can have sex, you can think of something better to do. There are tons of people looking for a kid to adopt, but most people will just have an abortion these days. Look up safe haven laws in your area, where I live you can take a newborn to any hospital, police department, or fire station and drop it off, no questions asked.Watch the movie Juno, you might see my point of view a little bit better, great independent film that has really hit it big.
  6. my boss sunk to a new low today. So I know how to weld, and am pretty good at it at this point, to start with.A machine broke today, actually a steel plate in it cracked. This part apparently costs five thousand dollars to replace. WOW thats alot right? Well for all of maybe ten bucks I could weld it back together (I say ten, since I make nine an hour, and it might cost a dollar for the electricity to weld it, and the wire I would use up)I say hey boss, want my two cents on this? No he says, but I told him anyways, to which he replies I don't think you can weld steel this thick. My certification test is to weld two pieces of one inch steel together, this is three quarter inch. Easy as pie. Oh well, if he wants to spend that five grand, it's no skin off my back.jerk.
  7. on some of the computers that I have used, it really slowed me down. couple that with the lack of compatibility with some programs, and it makes it a really tough operating system to get used to. Aside from that however, there are always bugs in a new OS, like XP for instance. It wasn't really a 'preferred' OS until like SP2, and at that point the majority of people started switching over from 98 and (ugh) ME. That stated, I have used my step mom's computer, which has Vista on it, just to surf the web and whatnot, and it really is a nice operating system both in looks and performance, as long as you have the equipment to run it well, and aren't attempting to use anything that is not compatible with it.
  8. Hey all, I'm just starting up a forum on my hosting here, and I was wondering, how do people here feel about having multiple skins?I think just having the default skins that come with the forum and maybe one or two added on that match the style of the forum a little better, but what do you think? Should I have a dark/light added on, in addition to the default skins? and should I leave the forum default as one of the included skins? or something that fits in with my idea of what the forum looks like a little better? thanks for your opinions
  9. hah its funny that you said that, my girlfriend was being particularly rude to me last night, and when I started calling her out on it she said it was just because she was pmsing bull lol

  12. Ok, so I just got a job as a general maintenance person in a laser cutting/machining shop. First day, I painted all day and was told I would basically be a janitor. Today, my second day, my boss asked for a bit of help taking apart a machine. I stand there for an hour while he fiddles around inside of it before he comes out swearing and cursing that he will have to cut the bolts because he cannot find where to put a wrench. I think wow, my boss is the head of the maintenance department, and can't figure out how to take out a few bolts. So I say are you sure you will have to cut 'em? At which point he tells me "If you are so smart why don't you do it yourself?" Needless to say, I had all four of his problematic bolts out in 5 minutes, 8 tops. So my boss must have decided then that I was worth at least my weight in gold around there, as no one seems to know much of anything about machines. Turns out he was the maintenance guy at a bank before he signed up for this gig. Later on today he asks me, "So, you know how to weld hmm?", to which I reply "Yeah, I go to school for that". So he tells me great, we need a welder around here, we have a welding machine and stuff. Again I think, wow how can this guy be maintenance and not now how to weld? Especially in a machine shop! Well, it gets better. I asked him what kind of a welder it was, and he told me Lincoln, which is just a brand of welder. Wow I think again, maybe I should get more specific. I ask whether it is MIG, TIG, or ARC, as those are the main 3 types of welding, and he says "I dunno, it's got a tank of gas on the side of it though." It turns out that it's a MIG welder, and it also turns out that my boss is a complete moron, and mostly all he does is change lightbulbs. So, I have decided I'll stick it out here, because at the rate I'm moving, I might just take his job.
  13. Thanks sheepdog, I have heard that using a can and some hose clamps would work, but I wasn't really sure. It was my grandma that told me, and shes a bit senile so can't always trust what she has to say. Thanks
  14. Personally I play Championship Manager 2008, but thats only because I've tried out all the 2007 versions of the 3 major games (FIFA manager, Football Manager & Championship Manager). I was considering buying Football Manager 2008, but after trying out the demos it was CM all the way, I really didn't see much improvement in this years Football Manager, but the new Championship Manager has been given almost a complete overhaul, especially to the match engine. To all who are a bit skeptic, I invite you to give Championship Manager.
  15. its amazing I think, that google is so powerful, people can say anything about it and most will believe. Next, we will hear about google making a computer that sells for ten dollars, and people will all be searching for where to buy. Google's secretive nature and near internet omnipotence give people the impression that it can really do most anything.
  16. thats pretty much what i would do, maybe not a cow head but still a good plan. bet he doesnt do it again
  17. The one thing that will bring users to your forum is unique content. If you have a forum that is just like ten other forums, then the users are going to be split between those forums and yours. Find a niche, get a hold on what the users want, and make it something worthwhile for them. If you give your users information they need, they will come back. Give them something to look forward to for visiting your site, some useful tools, anything that will give people a reason to use your forum and not someone else's. basically the advice I am saying is, without a loyal user base, you really can't go into a general topic, your forum will look empty. Stick to a few specific topics and categories, then build your forum as you attract users.
  18. wow, I have heard the celery was a negative calorie food, but some of the others kind of shocked me. Thats really cool though, because I love some of the foods that you listed, and well pineapples are my favorite fruit, so I guess I am in luck! thanks for the post
  19. I do alot of things for a living :oI just landed a job today for general maintenance in a laser cutting plant where they cut metal pieces for airplanes. Mostly its just cleaning, painting, some basic machine maintenance. I also have sold cars, been a machine operator a few places, and within the next few months will be finishing up school for welding and metal fabrication, as well as earning my certification for 4" vertical mig welding. Eventually, I would like to go on to be a machine repairman, as I love working on machines and figuring out what is wrong with them. The problem around where I live is that most major manufacturers are moving their plants overseas for cheaper labor, and so job opportunities are dwindling. Because of this I have to go through a staffing agency to find anything decent, and well they usually take a good chunk of my paycheck for the first 3 months.
  20. Hi, I am driving a 95 Ford Escort, and well to be honest it needs some work :oI don't make very much money, so fixing it myself is where I am headed, and I'm pretty good mechanically, can weld etc, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. I also have a 94 Mercury Tracer, same car, with a blown motor so I have spare parts. The slight problem here is, well, I don't know a whole lot about cars, never really worked on one, and only had my license for about 6 months so haven't had much of a need so far.First problem I have, my exhaust is broken. The problem is, it is one piece all the way from the motor to the muffler, which costs about 180$ to buy. The problem with the exhaust is that the end of the flex pipe is rusted out, and it has broken so it is not connected to the rest of the exhaust. My question here is what is a cheap quick fix, and what could be a more long term fix, but still on the cheap? Secondly, I believe it is called my shock mount, but it seems to have rusted out, and my rear passenger shock is kind of sticking up into the back of my car. Is this something that i could simply weld a new piece of metal in to hold the shock in place? Or would it take a little bit more than that? Also, I have noticed that my car seems to sputter some like it isn't getting enough gas whenever I am in gear but stopped using the brake (It is an automatic). Also, it will sputter and almost die if I am accelerating and then have to brake quickly to a near stop. What could be causing this and are there any simple fixes?Lastly, whenever I am braking from speed (40 mph+) I have noticed that my car vibrates alot. This only happens when I am going more than 40 mph, so if I am going 55 and brake, it vibrates from 55-40, then stops. Is this a problem with my brakes? I have just put new shoes on the rear drum brakes, and the car has fairly new calipers and rotors on the front disc brakes. Thanks for any help or advice you can give me, it is much appreciated!
  21. On the contrary, it seems as though Summoning is quite a costly skill. I'm sorry to say, but it's true. JaGeX removed 'pking' from the game to stop people buying RuneScape money for real life money. If you hadn't played the game for a number of years it would be hard to understand. But JaGeX discovered there were numerous sweatshops in countries like North Korea that were around simply for the fact of getting RuneScape gold and selling it to people. JaGeX said they were banning thousands of accounts per week for breaking this offense. In reality JaGeX were desperate to get rid of these sweatshops and tried many things, finally they decided to go to extreme lengths to make the game better for players who worked hard. To combat the sweatshops JaGeX deployed the following tactics / updates. *Banning thousands of accounts per week *Putting a limit on how much a player can stake in a dueling match *Removing the 'Pking' part of the wilderness *Removing 'Unbalanced' trades by putting a limit on how much wealth can be transferred within a set amount of time But JaGeX also knew these updates would upset and anger the players, so they made some more updates in conjunction with these *Making "Duel Tournaments where players can win up to 64 Million while versing a large number of other players *Making a new 'Bounty Hunter' minigame, where players can kill eachother to gain the other players items, though the area is a lot smaller than what the wilderness was. *Making the 'Grand Exchange' where the economy and prices determine what the trade limit will be, and also where players can put items up for sale and leave the item sell, whilst the 'Grand Exchange' matches them up with a buyer. The player doesn't even have to be there for their item to sell. *JaGeX also stated they are working on a 'Lend Item' idea, where players can borrow items and when they log out the item being returned to its owner

  23. Personally, I use Limewire. Mainly because all I download is music, however, if I'm downloading full albums, programs or movies I tend to use BitTorrent, I find it a bit easier for the larger files.
