  1. I've been receiving this errors for months and it seems not get get fixed... I'm using Windows XP SP2 Home edition...

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem and needed to close.

I've tried whatever I can do, googling it, reading almost everything possible and this error seems to be keep poping out everytime after I get my computer started and my sound driver seems not to be working after that... I've even tried the hotfix provided by Microsoft and kept my laptop up to date with the Windows Update and this error seems to be popping up every now and then and my Media Player seems not to be working! Now even my web browser seems unable to load pictures and pages correctly and I even had a hard time loadig Xisto! Anyone has any idea how to solved it?

  2. Its better to place quotations on every attribute so as to conform to the standard now... Using lower caps maybe more of a help... So maybe you can put something like

    <frame src="images.html" noresize frameborder="0" name="IMAGE"/>

    <a href="images.html" target="IMAGE">Pictures</a>

Maybe this would solve the problem, and also try to get your html pages validated with the standard to be able to work on all browser...

  3. I started learning them from books I borrowed from the library, and then I came on the web and search for tutorial, and I found w3schools.com which they mentioned, its really a great site for beginners! And then I enrolled into my current course and studied html too which put my html skill to the test and they now teaches the standard XHTML tags which are very hard to conform to... But nevertheless, I've gotten myself distinction from that particular html modules, which I easily pass! :) But, that was thanks to w3schools tutorial which really simplified things... Whenever I have a doubt about html stuff, that's the first site I'll turn to, and not even my lecturer I will turn to...

  4. Don't have to really worry about the speed... I'm using IE 7.0 RC1 which is almost the same as you are but just not the google web accelerator but it still runs faster than without the GZIP enable... Its always better to have it enabled than disabled, and I'm pretty certain that it will work well enough with hosted on Xisto...

  5. I think its possible since I have installed phpBB3 in my Xisto host and I have configured GZIP enabled and its working perfectly fine and when I tried with GZIP disabled the pages just don't load well and sometimes returns an error... Why not you try turning on GZIP and see if there's any change in page load?

  6. With GMail's features, it is not difficult to see which email service is the best, but I think a lot of us are sticking with hotmail because it hosts our MSN Messenger accounts, at least for me. Does anyone know a way to use MSN Messenger but with a google account? For me, I do not need so much space in the face of 2 gb as I do not store many files online.
Regarding the idea of GMail storing your deleted files, it could be because they can retrieve it for some reason or another the user wants the file back. But I have no idea how they are going to achieve that.

I'm using a gmail account for MSN Messenger, you just have to sign up for a .NET passport with your gmail account, and you can sign into your MSN Messenger with your gmail account! I've been using gmail for over a year and it still works great, only that spam mails are a trouble sometimes, but it has been great! And using it with my MSN Messenger works great, and with some addons and script, I'm able to check for new mails and notify me with new mails with MSN Messenger! Thumbs up! :)

  7. vBulletin is actually the leading forum software up to date... Just imagine it, when a user comes into your forum and see the professional layout and the organisation of the vBulletin skin, they will get the hang of it and sign up...And as darran has said, vBulletin has almost all the important mods and hacks that are usually needed in a forum board, which althought IPB has it, vBulletin does it better! vBulletin are always up to date to the lastest and most welcome technology and to my knowledge its the first forum software that comes out with the AJAX features which makes it so popular that IPB follow suit, which may be out at IPB 2.2 or something, I couldn't remember...

  8. Nope, it doesnt work... I've tried my files with the correct filename and it still returns me the same error... I've tried files with the correct filename and here's the log:

Command:	STOR DSC00304.JPGResponse:	553-Can't open that file: Permission deniedResponse:	553 Rename/move failure: No such file or directoryError:	Upload failed

I guess i roughly figure out what's wrong, the folder that I'm not able to upload to is created by a certain php script I'm using and perhaps that causes it... However, how can that be solve?

  9. When I'm uploading with my ftp client filezilla, it shows me this error:

553-Can't open that file: Permission denied553 Rename/move failure: No such file or directory

I remember experiencing this error before but I couldnt remember how to solve it, or if I'm able to solve it... I've tried out and it seems that folders with the .htcaccess are not affected by this and I've even try it on folders with CHMOD 777 and still get this error... I did a search around the forum and it didnt bring me any result and even tried google it and still the same... Any ideas how to solve it?

  10. Alright, to choose the right board for your needs, you just have to follow some guidelines...vBulletin: Its a very professional board and its the best for business forum if you're running a business that are attracting lots of buying customer..Invision Power Board: Its a very good paid boards that are not professional looking enough than vBulletin but are the most flexible board with the number of modification and hacks available for it..phpBB: The only free board that can match up to the standard of the paid ones.. However, the Olympus version of the board is still in beta and the old version still has lots of security issues...

  11. I use both hotmail and gmail, but mostly hotmail serve as my private mail box while my gmail account serve as known to all and the number of spam message received increase everyday... Gmail now has nearly 3GB of mailbox spaces and its the perfect mail service for anyone that receive loads of spam everyday... However, hotmail serve as a rather good service for me now since they have the live mail beta now and are offering anyone using the beta with a 2GB of mail spaces, both works like a dime! For messenger service I'm using MSN's Windows Live Messenger... They are currently the best and the most used messenger service and are almost unbeatable... I use my gmail account as a .NET passport and serve as my msn address... Live Messenger is getting lots of new features and current the new 8.1 version of WLM is underway in beta and out new soon...

  12. Ok, thanks... Is it possible to create a catergory feature where we can group those pictures into different catergory and then perhaps the catergory shows some of the thumbnail of the pictures inside the catergory, that would be perfect... I'm looking foward to it, hope it will work like wonders lol... :)

btw, the actual hoverbox image gallery from the sonspring site did not have a problem with that css thing and it works perfectly with IE7.0...

    http://host.sonspring.com/hoverbox/

  13. I believe it does work... When I click on the thumbnail, it brings me to the full size page of the particular image... Lets hope the IE team fixed it... Perhaps I'll drop by the connect webpage of Microsoft and drop in a bug report or feedback on the IE7.0 beta section...I dont really know what's the main problem with this script that allows IE7.0 to display it incorrectly but could someone explain further which is the main problem causing it so I can post up a bug report and the production team may solve it...

  14. I'm using IE7.0, perhaps that's the problem... I'll have a little try on my FireFix browser and see if there's any prob...

Here's a screenshot of the problem I encounter, the hover doesnt really stand out from other pictures, and get cover by the thumbnail of others...

  15. You can always have both installed, but what I can say is that Windows Defender is a good spyware scanner, but not a good spyware removal... I have NEVER successfully remove any spyware or virus using the Windows Defender at all and always have to go for other alternatives like using paid anti virus software or have to reformat my entire computer...
