1. i thing never we can forget our first lovend what abou you?

Notice from BuffaloHELP:
Xisto request that you contribute with quality and details when making a post.

I don't think I'll ever forget my first love, and although they were probably the best memories of my life, the memories of my relationship with him are slowly disintegrating. I only have a few memories of him and I together, and most of them are from out break up. My first love occurred during year eight of middle school. Yes, I know what you'll probably be saying; 'thirteen year olds don't know love,'. But when you experience love, you know it. And I definately knew it. He made me feel wanted and needed. That's probably what made me fall so deeply in love with him.

Unfortunately, his love for me died after almost a year of our relationship, broke up with me, and five days later was in a relationship with a older girl who was known... for.. I'll simply say having multiple relationships with multiple partners. :P

I had plenty of pimples as a kid. One day I fell asleep in the library. When I woke up, a blind man was reading my face. - Rodney Dangerfield

We used to play spin the bottle when I was a kid. A girl would spin the bottle and if it pointed to you when it stopped, the girl could either kiss you or give you a dime. By the time I was 14, I owned my own home. - Gene Perret

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes. - Billy Connolly

Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. And there are 5 people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother Colin. Or my younger brother Ho-Chan-Chu. But I think it's Colin. - Tim Vine

Haha very nice quotes. I quiet like these four :P

3. well i used to skip almost every class especially algebra but not anymore becausei realize that my education is a major part of my life and i refuse to fail but my
english class is boring as f**k.. have you ever skipped class? :P

I haven't.. or at least not intentionally. Once I was sitting outside the secondary block for recess with my friends. It was beautiful and sunny so we were just laying against the warm stone wall - chilling out. We hadn't realised the bell had rung and turned up to class about half an hour late. That's honestly the wost I've ever done!

That was when I was in a country school, so there were only about seventeen people in my calss... and you actually got noticed if you were missing from class then questioned about your whereabouts. Haha.

4. Does anyone else here totally hate school?Your thoughts?

No, I don't hate it. In fact I pretty much love it. I love the feeling I get when I accomplish something and I'm recognised for my strengths. Sometimes I don't enjoy it, I'll admit. When I have an English Essay due, a few Global Issues Assignments and Maths to complete it would be so much easier for me to just give up and not go to school. But then what would I do? Probably sit at home on the computer all the time. School gets me off the computer and out somewhere I can enjoy myself. School is aslo a great space to develop friendships. Where else would you have six hours to spend with your friends?

When ever I feel like giving up on school because it feels to hard for me, or I feel to pressured to accomplish high grades I always remind myself what school is really for. It's to train us up so that when we leave school we can contribute to our community, our national and perhaps our globe. So if you're failing or struggling in school, really, it just means you're not ready to go out into the world and that you just need a bit more training. A little off topic I know, but then again it's my thoughts on school.

5. I've been at Xisto for quite awhile now, and have never figured out how to get pictures to post in my messages, so as it's a rainy yuckey day today, I thought this might be a good time to try to figure it out.

So, if there isn't a really cute picture with this message, will someobody please explain to me how to ad the pictures.
post-44799-1234378069_thumb.jpg

ok great, I finally got that to work.
It's a girl by the way. Our very first kid this year, born on my birthday, I thought that was pretty cool.

Aahh! That's one of the cutest things I've ever seen! I adore kids! B)
Actually.. I adore anything that's a baby :P

6. Well, I saw that the movie was coming out and thought that I would bring this up in a topic. So, how many of you have actually read this book (series, if I am not mistaken)? I have yet to read it, but from what I heard it sounds interesting.
What exactly is it about? Yeah, I know that there are vampires and the like in it, but is it worth reading? Should I get the book, or wait until the movie comes out to watch it? Some people that I know said that they liked it, and it was a good read. But I don't know.

I haven't been reading a whole lot of other books lately, besides ones on spirituality, so I want to know if this is a good one, by any chance?

I've read them all, and I've got to say they are VERY impressive. I'd highly recommend you read them.

There are four novels, although I should probably say bricks because they are huge :P, in the Twilight Saga; Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. They all follow the life of a girl named Bella (Isabella Swan) as she moves to a small town in Washington called Forks where she lives with her father. She meets Edward Cullen, a gorgeous and mysterious boy at her high school and basically the books erupt from there. Stephani Meyer's writing style is highly captivating and even the most simple things are made highly enjoyable. Everything about the Twilight series makes it more realistic, especially the way in which Stephani has linked events in the novels to real life events.

Seriously, if you want to read the most amazing book ever- Read Twilight.

7. Eye Movement:
1. The eye starts off at the top left of the website. The top left of the website is the suggested place for a company's logo.
2. The user then zig zags down the page, starting from the top left. The scanning ends at the "fold" where the page ends on the user's screen.
3. User then goes to top right corner, a good place to put some action, such as search, or navigation.
4. Goes to middle left of the screen, usually were navigation is located.

Wow! That is really interesting!
I never thought that much about the precise positioning of things on a web page, such as search engines/navigation etc.
Thanks for posting! :P

8. Roaming anywhere you want your Sims to go? That's exactly what I'd love to see! When I got the Sims 2 I had no idea how Maxis could improve the game anymore... but I suppose there's always ways to improve. For anyone that doesn't have the Sims, I 100% recommend you go out and purchase one!

9. Howdy, as most (I doubt anyone would know) of you would know, I come from Australia, the country of... heat, meat pies, kangaroo boxing, etc. Yeah anyways, I would like to meet some other Aussies here on Xisto forums. Post here if your an Aussie, or was born in another country but now lives in Australia for over 3 years, or was born in Australia but moved.

Hello,
I'm from South Australia, born here, lived here my whole life- been to every state and territory except Tasmania. Where abouts are you from? If you don't mind me asking.
Though I personally wouldn't call Australia the country of meat pies... but that's only because I'm biased seeing as I'm vegetarian. :P

We get quiet a lot of warm weather here, though there's generally a healthy amount of rain during the winter- though not too much.

10. Ok. Me and the Mrs. have been boggled by this, and i swear...i can google it or ask yahoo answers..but a discussion is always fun..besides..I can earn some credits! :P

Biologically speaking, a male needs to fertilize a female in order to reproduce, right?

But when you see any tv shows or ads with a chicken coup.....their just chickens laying eggs in a barn, sitting side by side, laying eggs that go down the chute into a basket to be collected at the end of the day.

Where's the rooster? I would think thats why a rooster's sub-name is a *BLEEP*, right?

So me and the mrs. were laughing all night.

Any thoughts?

Chicken Eggs are exactly that- eggs. Basically they are the chickens period. Without the males sperm to fertilize the egg no chick will develope within the egg, however, just like us humans the egg will still leave the chickens body through menstrual cycle.

11. what books are you reading this month??
I'me reading THE WATCHMAN, by Robert Crais.

What about you guys??

I've just finished reading the Twilight Saga. I've pretty much been reading some short novels, Forget Me Not, Walking Naked. At the start of the month, or there abouts, I was reading a bit of Dan Brown; Digital Fortress. That was very interesting.

12. Ok, that sounds really really tasty, but help me out here. How much is 80g of butter in cups/ounces? And what is custard powder? I've never heard of that one.
And of course, 180 degrees celcius, that come to ??? in degrees farenheight?
I am going to assume that vanilla essence is the same as vanilla extract, right?

80g of butter is about 2.8 oz
Custard Powers like a cornflour starchy thing. B)
Yes, Vanilla Essence is the same as Vanilla Extract. :P
As for the temperature, don't ask me, I am from Australia so I have no idea how to convert to Farenheight- because I never use it. Try searching for a convertor on Google.

13. Most important thing is reviews. Because a camera can claim to do "so many megapixels" or whatever, but the image quality can still be junk. A camera with less resolution might have much higher quality at the same resolution as a camera capable of higher resolutions, but you'd never know that if you didn't ask someone or read reviews online or in consumer reports or whatever.

I'd definitely agree with this. Reviews of brands are one of the most important things to look at primarily. I've bought a few products from major brands that have relatively good reviews and the products work very well. I also look at how common the brand name is, although it's not something you should really base your options on. Popular brands can sometimes be better quality or operate better.

Then I'd also think about what you actually want the camera for. If for example you're going on a hiking trip and you need a digital camera to take with you may need one with longer battery life and one that is light weight.

After that I would look at photo quality, but that's me personally, because I like to have good quality pictures. But that really depends on what you're after.

The shop assistance's should left you get them out of the cabinet and provided they ave batteries in them you should be able to have a fiddle/play around with it.

Hope you get a camera you like! :P

14. Its much funny topic i am posting here. But Many people have problem with it. My question is if you drop your cell phone in toilet, what do you do ?? You have many options like Put your hand in toilet and bring cell phone out, Ask to some bring out your cellphone and lastly leave your cell phone in toilet(Note: It may Jam your toilet). If you have good solution after that you can reply this post.
Suggest anyone what to do after dropping your Cell phone to Toilet. and Express your opinion if you have. hehe

I would go and get the tongs and fish it out.

15. Its been a while since I made Jam Drops, but I was flicking throug the recipe book and I saw them and I thought I'd share them with you! In my opinion they are best with apricot jam- especially home made! My grandmother makes a delicious apricot jam that works perfectly with the Jam Drops! Let's get started then! You'll need:80g unsalted butter1/3 cup caster sugar2 tablespoons milk1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence1 cup self-raising flou1/3 cup custard powderAnd ofcourse your jams!1. Preheat the oven to moderate 180 degrees celcius and line two reasonably large cooking trays with baking paper.2. Using an electric beater, beat the butter and sugar in a small mixing bowl until the mixture is light and creamy.3. Add the milk and the essence and beat again until well mixed.4. Sift the flour and custard powder into the butter mixture and mix to form a soft dough.5. Roll two teaspoons (or larger depending on how big you want your biscuits to end up. I usually go small because they are easier to eat) of the mixture into a ball and place it on the tray. Repeat until you have used all the mixture.6. Press a hollow into each ball using the end of a wooden spoon and fill each hole with a quarter of a teaspoon of jam.7. Bake the biscuits for 15 minutes and use an egg slice to transfer them onto a wire rack, once cooked, to cool. And there you have it! Remember that if you have used more than the two teaspoons advised to make the biscuits you'll probably need to make the hollow you put into the biscut bigger than the end of the wooden spoon- unless you don't mind the edges being quiet dry in taste.Enjoy! :P

16. I love cheese harrison858, so I always put plenty in. But I'm sure it wouldn't be too cheesey.. :P

Hi Evolke :PThanks again for posting this recipe.
I've given another try to the bechamel sauce yesterday, i removed it from the heat just as you told, and it was great! not lumpy at all! But only when I put it in the oven I remembered about the bread crumb thing... but there will be other occasions to try :P

Its my pleasure! Im thrilled to hear that it worked out for you! :D

17. My Budgie Problem

I've owned my budgies for about eight months now and I've noticed that one female budgie, named Perry, has a swollen cere. It looks like its turning a reddish brown colour. I do not know what has caused it. I've been reseaching it on the internet trying to find out what it is but so far I've been unsuccessful. Are there any experienced budgie owners/breeders that know what may be the causes? What is the cure? Is it some sort of blood mite or parasite?

Here are some pictures of Perry that may help you out, I'm sorry I couldn't get any close up images but the budgies aren't tame enough for me to catch them. (I've got more images that I'd like to show but Photobucket is refusing to upload them... for some weird reason)

This picture was taken yesterday:

The cere on one of my other female budgies, named Dominos, is begining to sort of break down inwards or sort of deflate. I'm not sure if she might have accidentally knocked it against somthing or if its a type of mite, or maybe she's hurt herself when she was bickering with one of the other budgies.

This picture was taken yesterday (Dominos is the budg left):
