  1. A new discovery that was recently founded: If you go to "downloads" within the adrift website then you'll be able to find a link on the bottom of the site page. This link allows you to download older versions thusly having unlimited rooms. You will have less features (such as the battle feature being more limited) and the look is *slightly* different however in the end, the game versions are too similar to actually make a hurting disadvantage to use. So it is within this that I offer a re-rating for those of you who want a fair rating of this site's program. Pros of Old version: More room slots More task slots More character slots More event slots More object slots Basically an entire adventure is guarenteed with the following above *within the old version*. This means you need not worry about how many rooms you should cut off on your next project. Cons of Old version: Slightly Outdated. Battle System is really stupid. *baby battle system you might call it*. Loss of some inserting features (you can't really say too much when putting side info into the slots). Different Screen *the screen doesn't look friendly in any way, if anything at all it's moreso a cmd window*. No wyswig (what you see is what you get) window editor: you have to be quite the html/dos programmer to customize your window content. (not too much just basics of everything). Overall Rating: 4/5 (it really is more or less better than the newer 4.0 version. Give it a try if you don't believe me.)
  2. I agree politics is such a bummer. Especially due to the fact that the U.S.'s history lies in a cesspool in it.
  3. Well I suppose ADRIFT might not be all entirely *puzzle* since it's really part adventure as well, however that depends on the ADRIFT game you play. I was recommended this program for when I wanted to toggle around with coding my own text based game and it turns out that I'm so addicted to it that I have almost completely forgotten with keeping up my own post count there. At anyrate I guess this is a discussion/review really on how decent it is.Review:Convenience: Learning the system is easy, really it's just a bunch of little mini windows in a larger window, each having their own segments. "character, object, task, event, room". IN which character are entities "other than the main character (that character often being declared "you")". Objects interact with the rooms, characters and or events. Tasks are what connect everything together as things *react* meaning that tasks are initiated. Events are somewhat like tasks except you don't type them down when playing, they just happen automatically. Performance: The system is broken into two types "generator, and runner" as generator "creates" the adventure and runner "runs the adventure" pretty straight forward. You type up commands however the unfortunate parts is that if you have a bad programmer then you won't know what to type where as if you have a great programmer you will know exactly to type when to type it. This is often when *hints* come in handy. All in all performance is very easy, as the game runs on low memory and saves up in low memory due to being text based. The plus is that the updated version allows one to program image windows meaning images can pop up if you program them too.Major Downside: The free version only allows 10 rooms max, 25 of everything else. And really good adventures have been known to have at least 20 rooms. The paid version has reasonable ample amount even though it's not worth buying. If you get really good you can still make excellent games with 10 rooms just make sure you have the rooms change within the program so it seems like a new room and ensure in the story line the room changing makes sense.Overall: Very simplistic and easy to use. You'll find yourself playing your own game in almost no time. *unless you are a perfectionist like myself >_>* Rating: 7/10PS: not quite sure if this whole critique/review thing is ok. please pm me if it isn't I'll make sure I put it where it is allowed asap.
  4. You have in no way elaborated on this and why. I'd like to see an elaboration/reasoning for this statement otherwise the rest of your post just seems too descant to be on the board. Also the following below has been proven time and time again. (even though it may be up to interpretation) Heh, who does this remind me of? *smug look @ Bush* Ok now to my real point. Although you seem to have a valid logical point, I'd have to side with Thingcubed here, when I say that change is possible, even though it may not seem that way. We have to hope for the best that the person elected actually get's something done and not someone who just wastes good time only benefiting their own wallet. I don't know about you all but electing a man who was CEO of a bankrupt company to run a country seems like pure idiocy to me. I'll side with someone who has excellent grades, great leadership quality, and isn't afraid to face off to the tyrants "Old Boys Club" that is Congress. America isn't necessarily considered their home to them as much is it's considered great business market. I believe that if the economy continues at the rate that it's going we'll have no choice but to go to recession which means that this next president will be crucial to U.S. economic survival. P.S. I want to hear Obama's plan about the deficit with China... Notice from jlhaslip: Material from other Postings must be inside Quote bbcode as per the Xisto Readme. Board Rules Added them.
  5. O=, wow, it's like you made this topic specifically for me. Yeah, I have serious ocd issues when it comes to the everyday little things such as how my bedroom should look right down to how well my car should be parked. Yes I park my car at least 4 times before I actually am satisfied unfortunately a sad truth. Other activities that I take part in when submitting to perfectionism is how my locker looks at work, how my paperwork should look, right down to timing on what I do , when I do it. That way I can backtrack what I did, or what I forgotten within seconds since I do the same thing everyday. Most days I even know a very accurate approximated time when I am due for the restroom. Sadly I blame myself however I don't see work discouraging such behavior. At the moment it hasn't proven to be unhealthy so I'll continue this process to see if it proves to be worth while or not. However in the horrific event that it should, well, I'll probably come up with a solution, solve this, and report back.
  6. I'm shocked. I had no idea that so many people are discontent with their job such as myself. We really should form some sort of non-union group and pretty much unite for some commen goal that would in some way satisfy our discontent for our slave-labor, I know I'm compelled to do something about the situation that I'm living in, however I feel that school is the only temporary barrier preventing me from doing so. I'll awaite the day I get my degree, the minute I get to practice law...believe me I will and when that day comes, there will be no two week notice, there will be no ahead notice period. There will be no "goodbyes" or "solongs" or even "it's been real". There will only be one thing if anything at all. Me grabbing my check and never returning my security badge (since I lossed mine due to them giving me a faulty container resulting in it falling out of my container during work and them not paying up 250 for a second one, yeah I spent a week's check simply on having a stupid badge that let me work in the vicinity, because of this I hide my newly purchased badge in my pocket constantly because it's my property currently and they won't even get a glance at it at all. Well that's enough on my rant today, I really just needed a second to rant about the idiocy that I am facing at the moment. Thanks for reading if you were, if not then that's alright too. I entirely understand. Thanks.
  7. O= wow I had no idea so many people would welcome me to this site. I feel the warm love already. At anyrate sorry for not replying back so soon as life has been quite busy what with work, school and pretty much raising my siblings (yeah life's taking a toll on me at the moment) so right now I'm pretty much trying to captalize on what needs to be done, one thing at a time. Hopefully everything will resolve itself in the end. Once I have my life straighten out I'll be able to post as many times as you all. =) Btw, kinda sorry that I am so late in responding (wanted to make sure that you all mean something to me).
  8. =), staff, members, thank you for your feedback. I appreciate knowing that this was an error and not anything having to do with my actual account. Also more relief for the fact that I have to have -30 in hosting post credits to be deleted (something I'm confident in saying won't happen). I wish I could reward you all with some sort of gift, but I really am not the great-gift giving type =/, in consolation I'll be contributing very adequate via posting sensibly and actively on your board while working on my site as best as possible. In short; thanks and I'll be around to offer whatever I can to the board.
  9. O=. Thank god. Thanks bro. I sincerely thought it corresponded with my emergency inactivity in real life. This actually gives me great relief since I procrastinated saving everything from the ftp account on my home pc. If the ftp works tonight I'll go ahead and save everything in case I actually do have my information lost due to unexpected inactivity. I'll be on look out when the site get's back up and I'll notify my site members pronto. Thanks for the link. Edit: By the way, it says I'm a newbie now. Why is that when I was a normal member before?
  10. Hello Staff here's my situation: I haven't posted since tuesday and I believe I had 4 or 5 days left today. I had 0.23 Hosting Credits left, yet I posted a few times just today...to recieve 5.88 hosted days again however the following quote is what I recieved when I typed for my site url. Is this a permanent thing? Is there something that an admin can do? Is my database and all my work gone or can I get it back? Is there a way to get it all back? ~ I appreciate all your help. This was an emergency that won't be happening again thanks.
  11. Sadly, however, all those games are not KH III which means we won't be seeing any new additions to the storyline until KH III comes out *if there is one that is*. I have heard rumors, which ofcourse I do not believe, lamentingly I await Sora's return in KH III on the PS3 or on any other system. *I"ll Get it after reviews*. So yeah not much going on now, just gonna wait and see how birth by sleep is going in terms of entertainment and captivating storylines.
  12. In all honesty this hydro-powered vehicle could be great or a devastation depending on what "type" of water it runs on. If it runs soley on fresh water...then well we have a problem because out of the entire world's open source of waters only about 1-2% is actually fresh water and we already need that to survive (most countries are now scarce on that resource in which methods of distributing water is occurring across the globe. At anyrate here is my proposal:If the hydro powered vehicle only uses salt water or "global open waters" then that would be the essential successful idea. (not to be Mr. Obvious of course), also for those of you who feel that fresh water is too convenient, simply make it so that salt water is available in small amounts in certain stores, ofcourse, it being cheap since it's pretty much free. Also a salt watered powered vehicle is perfect since all you need is a bucket and a lake somewhere nearest you, which is what...1 mile if you live in the city and less than that if you live out in rural areas that are in the northwest? Anyways that's my little output right there, it's not super organized but it's there for you.
  13. Yeah yeah, I know, I'm sorta' late comin' in to this convo but then again I usually am, anyways:There are some very good pro's to IPOD, as mentioned however there are highly consequential cons to owning an IPOD as well, as also mentioned above, however one new factor that we should focus on is whether one outweighs the other. Hmm, let's examine this like a see-saw in which we weigh the good vs. the bad. One strong pro is that IPOD is capatible with ITunes which works both on PC and Mac. A strong con is that it's durability is so weak it's to the point where dropping it merely for the first time will screw with the screen interface (as seen on several occassions). These are just basic examples thus far, as I'm sure there are many more that'll turn the tide thusway and which. If we weigh the good vs. the bad in this way I do believe we'll arise to some form of outcome that we can all agree on based on the . Or at least a reasonable consensus. Anyways that was my two cents right there. Hope you got something strong out of it.
  14. Sorry if this is a bit too hasty, however I waited four days and yet to recieve any answer. I suppose this is a phpBB related question?
  15. Okami is actually a great introduction to understanding some of the references to Shinto'ised Ideals such as Orochi *being the devil in a comparison sense towards Christianity (lucifer who had taken the form of the devil), in which Orochi has made many other appearance motifs throughout all of Japanese popculture (shinobi for the PS2, Orochi was a devilish god *one of the four demon gods to destroy*, and in Naruto "Orochimaru" is a centered villain who has the physical attributes of a snake.) In which some of these cultural relevenances towards "good and evil" ideals one is known to be certain of these little easter eggs across the game "Okami". A closer look at the ideal of "Amaterasu" emphasizes the importance of light, in which light represents the ultimate good, the day, the safety, the comfort, the security of light within itself. This game promotes these ideals thus actually conserving the japanese culture in a sense. Even the painted format of the game emphasizes the oriental beauty of japanese design. It's just another of many preserverances that the producers came up with. In fact, Okami is what got me, obsessed as you might say, interested into Shinto and the Japanese Cultural Arts.
