hiEverybody seem to think that php is so easy that even firsttimers can easily work it out.I have plenty of html experience but know nothing about php so when i decided to try my hand on a simple form, i started looking around for tutorials. Trying to understand without knowing the lingo, gave me a monster headache so instead i downloaded some of the scripts and programs from hotscripts. Needless to say that none of them worked. In the end i 'borrowed' a script and tried to adapt it and finally after 3 days of trial and error i got it working. Hooray i'm a genius!!! Seriously --- it doesn't appear to be difficult, once you've got the gist of it, but guy's - cut the newbies a bit of slack.

Before posting some tutorials please insert software named in Subject column .... :wink: like Thunder(Photoshop) or Photoshop: Thunder...etc..

Hyper Text Meta Language () is the most basic. but it is extremelyinfexible and can be learned by anyone in a small amount of time. The way i learned to do Html/Php was to start with some basic html then some basic php and built each one up at the sametime. ( i found FAQ's unhelpfull though. i didn't want to read php's lovely complex documentation =P so i scraped a few commands and syntax off the top and experimented.) A friend i know tryed to learn php without even thinking about html. his sripts were fine used in the command line on his redhat box. but he struggled to put it on a web page when combining it with HTML. ('coz he was trying to be fancy and write html on emacs without even knowing a line of HTML lol). HTML first / PHP afterwards is the best way foward. but if you have done some perl / python / C varients give PHP a whirl first, then you can laugh at HTML =D.

The gmail is beta version yet. What after?I have a comun problem, lots of people and lots of sites registrations know my current mail adress, that was provided by my isp. But I believe I'll be changing isp soon, and I might keep changing isp like once per year, because broadband isp's here are changing service conditions all the time. This means I need a more stable email, that won't have to change every year.-Gmail seems nice, but do they have smtp and pop access?-They still beta, what is the probabilitie that they will continue the project and keep the service?-Will it keep for free after beta? I have experienced some good free email service that used the people to betatest, and when they have a final version they imposed a 'pay-or-die'.

Sorry, i just read the other posts, and i seems that people think spam comes from hotmail, hotmail doesnt have spam. it doesnt, and i cant, it says it in the user agreement, it wont give you spam, it is illegal if they do.

I admit that 1 gig is better than the old hotmail server which was 2 meg, lol, but i couldnt change anyway, msn managers cant change, , but now msn is uping it to 250 meg i think it is, and that should have already taken place, i dont know bout aus but in amerika it definately has.shows it is better to register .net in american name. Now with 250 meg, i dont need to delte anything, i think that 10 megs is enough for what i need, what do you think?

I dont like google, lol, so i dont really care, but alot of that was interesting, i would also like to point out that rankings at msn are done by ratings, members that use alot of sites of the same thing, are chosen to rate sites whenever they goto them, google doesnt have that i dont think.
