  2. fair enoughWhen i was in china a couple of years ago there was so much diversity! - from the modern and in many ways western scenario played out in peking, to the much more traditional situations closer to the mongolian borders. I also noticed an increasing mix of communism and capitalism.Russia also had a similar situation - from the rural areas near lake baikal, to the increasingly western citys of moscow and st petersburg, the many who were fiercely opposed to communism along side the many remaining communists. I walked in a rural area with a guide past some nice houses - to which my guide genuinely responded by saying they were all owned by people affiliated with either the government or the kgb.Its strange how russia and china - two huge landmasses and populations, can hold so much diversity under one single system. That single system cannot please everyone - but a system is needed or things degenerate into anarchy.

  14. I changed mine a bit and now and also I use preg_match, it now looks like if(preg_match("/^[a-z][a-z0-9_.-]+@[a-z0-9][a-z0-9-]+\.[a-z]+(\.[a-z]+)*$/i", $email)) I think I will settle on this as the method although I will work out the minimum values, as that's my last resort for this, far from perfect but it does meet most problems I have seen. I will also try and see if I can find any performance difference in converting to lowercase and removing the case insensitive bit, escaping the characters or enclosing them in braces as it's just a small thing for now. If you look at cryptwizards code, the only problem I can see is on the end \.[a-z0-9\-\.] which will say blah_this@abc-def.com.au to be valid, but it also allows blah_this@abc-def.....com....au.. to be valid too. After every dot, it's probably a good idea to check for a letter or number, but not if it's in the first part before the @ sign. The last bit of an email, usually falls in the line of net, biz, com, org, etc but you can also get com.au, co.uk, etc. I believe there's no dashes in this part so I assume it's safe to leave those out. If there ever was a problem brought to my attention about this I would fix it promptly, but for now, I find my code fitting for it's purpose. I have thought about client side checking, but I'm still left using the server to verify the rest of the data, so decided to do the whole thing server side, it's all built into my validator class so it's probably best to try and keep the code altogether than to partially split them between client and server. I also have less trust in client checking than server checking, considering that if I did do client side checking, I'd still use the server to verify it again, which means double the effort. Thanks for the pointers though. Cheers, MC
  15. I was wondering about its title . . . Half Blood Prince is grammatically incorrect; it should be Half-blood prince . . . but, this might've been done intentionally, for some kind of evil pun . . . But I can't think what.

    my site

I'm here, but it's not me you're looking for. You should really try to contact admin, let's hope he sees this thread.Your idea of this website is really great and i love it, but as I said, I doubt if it's legal. And music is very risky at the moment. I heared of someone who had to pay 10000s of dollars just for offering some downloads of music on his website (a small website). I know it's not the case for you. If I were you, I would send an email to some music companies with a question if it's legal (use a hotmail adress and don't mention your website). And if it's legal, put a lot more music on it and maybe buy a domain. It's worth it. It's really a good idea and if it gets bigger, you will make a lot of money with google ads if you use them to pay for everything. If it's not legal, don't advertise it too much and don't transfer the website to FNH and hope no music company will notice it.
  20. I know I am not a moderator but, this is a style request topic. lol
