I already see me opening my mouth going bad, but...I've attempted to create three different things with Fantastico, one was a PhpBB forum, another was a phpwebsite, and I forget the third, but when I attempt to access the site/admin page, I get a 403. Now please, someone give me the answer so other people can say "Obviously!!!" and point and laugh.

almost. after you upload it, in another browser window, go to your forum and in the address bar, replace index.php with install.php (or whatever the file is named), click "go" and it will run the install for you. then you can delete it

so what i do is in the file manager upload the install.php file to the file name of my forum? like for exmaple my forum name is "forum" i upload the install.php file in that file? is that all?

both of those have the same answer. in both cases, those files automatically update your database for you. you upload them to the root directory, run them (ie go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (change that address to your actual forum address with the filename at the end)) after you see that all the updates were ok, you delete the files, preferably before you do anything further in the mod

This has been mentioned a couple of times before, but we do not yet know admins feelings on the matter.

I've been using .tk for years and have never had a problem. Newer accounts take longer to 'make' than upgrading or changing for some reason.

Server staff who actually own the servers prename the strange servers names, so its basically not up to us, not that we think a server name should actually matter .The way our servers are managed and used ensure that free hosting doesn't clash with paid hosting, yet both get excellent service.

Ah. So it is a 403! Alright, if you can't get to your home page, go to the file manager and set the permissions on your public_html dir to 755. For instructions on how to do that, read the sticky in the Hosting Support section.
