I am looking around for a 3D-program preferably one of good quality. I've tried the demo for Cinema 4D and Maya PLE. I was wondering if a) anyone had advice on what to look for and if anyone knows if there is any sort of demo version of Lightwave availible.

They only will look bad if the people that made them are too lazy to properly code them. Firefox renders w3c compliant pages perfectly.

I looked around, and I didn't see another topic about it, so i figured I'd start a new one. If I'm retreading old turf here, just delete it...Anyway, I have a little over 400 gmail accounts, so whoever wants one, let me know and you got it. I have no need for all of them, and I'm not gonna try to sell something that is free.Hell, I might even give you more than one if that's what you need.Just send me a PM with your email address.

Yeah, I got an ipod as well -40 gig.Unfortunately for me though, I paid full price, but ti was worth it, especially when I was still living in NYC. It was perfect for the subway commute every day. I still use it at work, but not as much as I used to on the train rides in the morning. they're definitely nice to look at and easy to use.I have nothing bad to say about any other MP3 players out there, because I never used any of them.

Notepad. It's still by far the best code editor out there... not that I ever use it anymore.I use Flash on a daily basis, because that's what i get paid to do, but occasionaly I'll use Dreamweaver if I have to do something a little different.

Hands down, right now the best browser is Firefox. One of the main reasons it's the best is something that you can't actually see, and that is the secure code that's used to render pages, the UI also makes for faster downloading of pages, which is something that would be more noticable if you still have dial up.The built in pop-up blocker is excellent too.Another thing that makes FF great is all of the extension you can add to it.Right now I have about 12 that I use, but there are WAY more if you want to get crazy with them. you can also skin the browser, which some people like to do.Finally, tabbed browsing! I usually have about 9 or 10 tabs open at a time. It just makes everything so much easier then constantly opening windows. The only thing I would say that will give FF a run in the future, is the new google browser. They recently hired the old lead developer for FF, so you know the browser will be very similar.

I have Studio MX 2004, but I only really use Flash.I don't really like Freehand MX, or Fireworks MX -I'll just stick with Photoshop and Illustrator for my vector and rater programs.i hardly ever use Dreamweaver, but it's good for what it does, and I'd rather see someone use that than just using Photoshop and imageready to make bad static web pages. But yeah, I basically do all of my web design with Flash.I don't know about anyone else, but i can't wait for "8-ball" to be released.

What's up people, I'm Akewz.I'm a graphic/web designer(go figure)Who mainly works with Flash.I have about 13,000 + mp3s on one of my hard drives, so it's safe to say I'm a big music fan.just to play along with the rules... I'm a 28 year old American male.I've lived all over the U.S., but recently settled back in my home town of Philadelphia.I don't really have aspirations, because I'm already living the dream.

In the words of the great David Cross: "I'd rather listen to the death rattles of my only child, then listen to them"Seriously though, I'm not trying to be a *BLEEP* or anything, I'm just really not into them, and I have a pretty eclectic music taste. But I understand that it takes all types, and really my opinion of music is no better than anyone elses.

Bloc Party - Blue Light.Although, my sig pretty much keeps a running tab of what I'm currently listening to, because i'm sure everyone really cares about what I'm listening to at any given moment...ok, maybe my sig isn't actually doing what it's supposed to do.

Depending on what you're trying to achieve it's not hard to learn HTML at all, everyone suggests w3schools because it is indeed a valuabe site to remember. Just having the HTML/XHTML reference by your side helps. HTML is the way you lay out a document, it does not involve designing the graphics, it works on how it will display it.I still suggest learn all you can from w3schools, thing is, they keep to W3C Compliancy, don't bother with learning proprietory code that limits you to only a certain browser.Other ways to learn is just by looking at other people's source codes, yet this doesn't guarantee that it's w3c compliant, unless of course they say that it is. But with messy codes from other sites, you can attempt to clean it up, simplify it more, etc. Looking at HTML templates is a good way to learn too.Learn XHTML with CSS as this is replacing the HTML standard and would be better in my honest opinion.Make sure to view it in as many browsers as you can, so you can see if there's any display inconsistancies.Cheers,MC

Last time I checked no one bothers to hack or write viruses for Macs, so the answer is a big, meh. I run it for the tiny level of security I get and the fact that it isn't another big program taxing my puny PPC G3 processor. What about the bad plug and play support in general in windows, where everything requires new drivers to be installed, whereas Macintoshes come with a standard set of USB and Firewire drivers that works for almost all plug and play devices. I know about the task bar. I am forced to use windows occasionally, like at school, and I have a windows computer at home that I used to use as part of a render farm and occasionally mess about with GNUstep on. And no on a Mac the desktop is not for launching programs. Maybe in pre-OS X you'd keep a few aliases out there but most program launching was done from the Applications Folder inside the hard drive directory. In OS X program launching for the programs you use everyday (Safari, Mail, iChat, etc) is done from the dock. For Program you only use occasionally there is the application folder. What I meant by my comment was that the dock reduces unnecessary clutter on my desktop. I have used Stardock and Mobydock when I skinned a Windows XP computer for a friend to look like OS X. The quick launch is still just plan not as good, in my opinion, as a nice OS X dock. And about the "show desktop" does it work by just hitting F11? Is there anything like exposè that instead of tiling windows it actually replicates what was in the screen shot? Thank you for having this conversation few people actually will talk about this just go "I've only used XP so it is good." However I have a couple more points to make. First off, have you ever used a Macintosh running OS X? If you have then I'll give your points extra credibility, but most people I find who say "windows is better" generally haven't. Lastly, there is another thing that distinguishes OS X from other OSs. It is the Apple Human Interface Guidelines. Basically it is a set of voluntary guidelines issued by Apple that help programs integrate their apps fully with the GUI (made especially easy with Objective-C and XCode/Interface builder) so that you never need to learn new controls when going between apps. There are no unexpected funny buttons that are different between apps. As an example, programs as diverse as web-browsers and chats within Video games can get access to a system wide spellchecker, or when I open up my RSS reader I can look through it just like looking through my music on iTunes. This is what I like about Macs they are built to be used by humans to meet the user's needs, not to makes the user meet the computer's needs.

The thing about The Shining is it was based off the book by Steven King but it was really different. The movie is fantastic I love Stanley Kubrick and everything he touches turns to gold. But Steven King hated it because it was so different and he wrote his own screenplay years later and made a mini series! haha oh what a dummy...
