In answer to your question, yes you must install a server. I would recommend Apache as the server. If you're planning to use PHP and MySQL, you'll need to install them too.y04chs067, That's somewhat old. It runs MySQL 3, Apache 1.3, and PHP 4. I would recommend you find one that's been updated.

^^^u can not edit phpbb as much as ipb i dont know what ur talking about...ipb has direct access to the mainheaders and html templates from the admin panels its alot easier than opening an ftp client to add some simple thing in...
