I say cable. I defintiely agree that it isn't as reliable as DSL... but I like things to move fast.If you're a speed demon like me, then go for the cable.

I haven't played guitar too much... Well, the best way to start out is to get a certain book (doesn't matter what) that teaches you and stick with it. Once you've done a couple of those, then you can search for guitar tabs from some of your favorites bands from the 'net and practice those.You can eventually start writing your own music (Like me!) once you get good enough.
