  1. Opera Mini is simply a great Mobile phone browser which support lots of features like AJAX and stuffs like that which is not supported by the normal WAP browsers. The Orkut website is actually blocked in our college and the Orkut website does not work in a WAP browser. The only solution to this problem for us was Opera Mini in which Orkut.com works.. Hats off to Opera Mini.
  2. I have a Sony Ericsson P990iIt is a PDA phone with touch screen, 2 MP camera, Wifi, Bluetooth and lots more. Its a complete perfect PDA phone. except that it is bit bulky and big.It runs Symbian OS UIQ 3.0 which sucks big time. often the applications running in the background quits without any notification. The OS is very slow. The Operating system is too heavy for for the P990i i guess. This phone is a slight variation from the Sony Ericson P series phones.P series fans will not be saticefied with this phone actually. This is got more of the Sony Ericsson ordinary mobile phone look. Especially the rear side of the mobilephone which exactly resembles a typical Sony Ericsson mobile Camera.
  3. You do not have a cell phone with TV for it. There are lots of Network Providers who provide free Live TV channel streaming for their customers with EDGE enabled mobile phones. There is an huge collection of phones that support EDGE.In India Airtel network provides live CNN IBN channel for free for all its customers with EDGE phone.I have a Sony Ericsson P990i in which i watch live streaming CNN IBN channel with good quality with any buffering. The streaming is very smooth for me when im stagnant in some place.
  4. Location Based Alarms(LBS) Location Based services are applications which provide software soutions which are location sensitive. Location Based Alert is a very useful kind of Location Based Service in which alerts can be set based on your location but not based on your time. So that when you travel long distances, you need not set alarm in your mobile phone based on your expected time to reach, Instead you can set alarm based on your destination and need not worry about the time delays in your travel. Location Based Services are used the most only in mobile phones. Currently there are two different technologies that are used in LBS 1) Mobile GSM Network Signals 2) GPS device 1) mobile GSM Network Signals The approximate location can be predicted based on the network signals from the Mobile tower or based on the CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) known as Cell Info Display in Nokia or Area Info in Sony ericsson. So what basically a Location Based Alarm application does is that it records all network cells that you visit and later use it to set alerts based on the already recorded network cells. So that when u log into the corresponding network cell your phone will ring. Since this does not require any external hardware it is the cheapest location based service you can afford. The only investment would be the mobile application which is an one time inverstment. There are lots of applications to this Location Based Alerts like - Set alerts to notify you to switch to Silent Mode when you enter into the church - Set alerts based on your destination when you travel long distances and lots more like this One such solution is already provided by http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ in which all you got to do is just download the mobile application Java to your phone. 2) GPS GPS devices are devices that gives your exact Location in Latitude and Longitude approximate to + or - 1 M. There are bluetooth enabled GPS devices from which the mobile phone can get the location data through bluetooth and use that location data for Location Based Services. The only hestitating factor is that you got to buy a seperate GPS device in addition to your existing bluetooth phone for this to work. But since the GPS gives you the exact location data it is got lots of applications compared to the alternate solution for this GPS. There are lots of GPS Location Based services provided by various companies Given below is a company which provides such solution http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

  6. No clue what you are asking for. But i guess you are asking for how to display the <a href ...... tag also in your page. There are lots of special chars in HTML which has to be represented with special codes like for space. refer w3schools.com for the corresponding codes for the special characters in your content to be displayed
  7. w3schools.com is the best place to learn any web development technologies. You will have have lots of realtime examples along with an experiment page where you can experiment all your learnings...
  8. These stuffs are all rumours. How can a web product based company suddenly come up with a new mobile phone which requires very high technology infrastructure which google does not have at present. This is surely an hoax. How can a web solutions company suddenly manufacture a mobile phone. Where will they get all the infrastructure them. Even though they have it. They must have officially made an announcement about it. It like saying Nike is manufacturing cars or Mercedes is manufacturing shoes. Notice from rvalkass: Please don't double post. If yours was the last reply and you have something to add, use the edit button below your post.
  9. Thats the most stupid thing that can happen to the world of software and software developers. linux is the most powerful and better OS than Windows and Micrsoft cannot do such silly things to make their product sell. Then can improve their product quality instead.
  10. yeah thats great idea to use linux to learn computers than Windows which is a DUMB operating system. We are not able to swith easily to Linux becase we are used to Windows from the childhood . But the current generation of they use such Linux in their learning stage itself thy will feel comfortable with it and they will use something which is not so DUMB..
  11. MIDP 3.0 is a new Java profile for Java enabled mobile devices. Motorola is planning to make this MIDP 2.0 reference implementation open source. So that all developers can make their hands wet with how Vendor implement their java implementation in their device.
