  1. Yes, all the posts are stored in the database along with all other data.If things go wrong, we just download SMF 1.0.5 again and install and restore the backup. The update will override all your files, but getting 1.0 files is easy, just re-download them.Add me to MSNM if you wish, trekkie101@gmail.com :)

  2. When you upload the SMF 1.1 contents, via FTP (No package manager update available) it will overwrite your source files, this will kill the mods, but re-installation should be a breeze, I only recomended you held off, if you werent comfortable re-adding mods, as you may have to again when the final version comes out of beta, although of that im really not sure.

This mod, if this is the one you mean, yes its 1.1 ready and can be used :)

    http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=36 for Gmaes/Arcade is compatable also :P

The PHP 4.4.0 Compatability Update, is for a slight change, if Xisto updates to PHP 4.4.0 instead of 4.3.11 then theres a line in SMF that needs changed for it to function or else you get a lot of errors, If you update to 1.1B3 though youll be fine without the patch.

Sometimes the mod thing becomes a bit screwey, after the update to 1.1B3 that should be sorted.

  3. Rapco are you hosting credits dropping, like 1 a day or are they just growing with no slowdown? It really should have unsuspended itself by now, but I believe there is trouble with the BIND protocal, it may not be self-correcting the hosting accounts right now, if this continues please make sure and have us informed in this thread and ill chase it further for you :)

  4. OpaQues already given the answer.Astahost has many customers, so to keep the websites running fast and loading at good speeds, theres prioritys on what can send data and at what speed. Obviously accessing data is top priority, so if the server has a lot of traffic to keep it serving at good speed, it allots more of the connection to Apache (The Web Server) and less to cPanel and its processes as cPanel isnt used as much as apache. So you can wait until a lot traffic time, dunno when, but I find early in my morning its high traffic (im GMT (UK)) and at nught its a lot faster.

  5. Thats just chmods gone wrong.Best idea is to install it yourself, ive posted a guide for installing SMF, just follow that but differ on the forum system and certain details on install, its basically the same process, but you may need to chmod install and contrib to 777 in phpBB once uploaded. Also, try chmodding your foler called TMP in your FTP root to 777, you may find it works then.

  6. 1. The upgrade will kill them completely, there isnt a way of saving them. 2. Either check the thread regarding the mod and usually they have been tested and reported either broken or alive. Else I can set up a test forum for you to play about on, or you can set up a test forum for yourself.3. Admin -> Packages -> Cleanup Permissions -> All are files writable. -> Go4. As above, its now included in the standard install for ease of use.Ill have to congradulate Oldiesmann on MSNM next time I see him :)

  7. http://www.simplemachines.org/ - Convert Today, to a More Secure and Better BBS system :)-Sorry for plug-Right, Another phpBB flaw, it took them about a week to patch this one, and its been public knowledge it existed. And you know what makes me ever madder, is that ONLY NOW have they decided to audit phpBB's security. But I thought they said phpBB 3 was JUST around the corner, what did it do, stop for a bagel? Come on phpBB, either get it sorted, or tell your users to switch.
