Actually, your system always backup your registry everydays. Each time you restart your computer, Registry Checker automatically scans your registry and replaces the registry with the backup if an error occur. However, my computer can't automatically restore the registry because a 'stupid' virus...so I use this:Click on Start->Run and type "scanreg /restore" (without the quotes)Again, I can't restore back because that 'stupid' virus.I know that I can't even use scanreg /restore at SAFE MODE.So this last method 100% work for me -_-Using your boot disk(you can create it by going to Add/Remove Programs in control panel)Insert and turn on/restart your computerFollow on whatever on the screenThen, type "scanreg /restore" (without the quotes)Now, I'm happy!

If you're a little stiff in the finger joints, and sometimes find that when you double click to open something it doesn't work, you may need to decrease the speed that Windows interprets as your 'double click'.Let me explain ...There is a designated time interval that Windows uses to distinguish between two successive single clicks and a double click.Anything faster than the designated setting is deemed a double click; anything slower is handled as two single clicks. In other words, if you allow too long an interval between the 'double click' action, Windows assumes you've carried out two single clicks. You can change the time interval by visiting the Control Panel and double clicking the Mouse icon. Things will be self-evident when you get there...Start, Settings, Control panel, Mouse icon, Adjust 'Double Click speed.Mousing around can be fun sometimes

How To Monitor Your Connection Speed Using System Monitor
yusri posted a topic in General Discussion
How to monitor your connection speedTo open Sysmon, click on start->run and type Sysmon. Please note that not many have Sysmon because when installing, normally you or someone have choose to "Install the most common components(Recommended)" or whatever that sysmon not included. If you have the Windows CD setup, then you can add it by going to Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs and choose Windows Setup tab, scroll down, click System Tools, click Details and check box on System Monitor then click ok.There is so many things you can do with Sysmon not only monitor your internet connection. Play around with the settings, adding/removing different items from the list, resize Sysmon's window, modify the "looks" and refresh rates, view your selections as bars, numbers, lines etc. There are numerous categories of your Windows machine's "innards" that can be "watched" on Sysmon's display (the list below refers to my system):-Dial-Up Adapter-Disk Cache-File System-Kernel-Memory Manager-Microsoft Network Client -

Did you taking too much time to access your favorite sites?Probably the problem is on the server used by those sites. To make sure that is the problem, use Windows PING facility.Ping is a small program, which sends a 32-bit signal to the Web site server. Next, Ping record the time needed by the server to answer it.To activate Ping:Click on the Start-Run menus, type command, and then click OK. Type PING "site name" in the MS-DOS prompt window, for example PING http://yahoo.com/.In a moment, the result will appear on the screen. A result less than 300ms is normal speed while a result more than 400ms is slow speed. If "Request timed out" message appears on the screen that means the Web site server is not responding in one second. Probably it happens because the server is too slow, or designed on purpose not to respond to the ping test, or you forgot to specify your name server addresses in the TCP/IP settings dialog box.

Want to shutdown or restart your Windows automatically at a specific time you have defined before? Just follow these simple steps:Click on start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Scheduled Task OR Click on Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Scheduled Task to open Task Scheduler. In the Scheduled Task Wizard, use the Browse option and navigate to C:\Windows\Rundll32.exe. Click OK and finish the wizard including select the start time (time to restart your Windows). Once it's done, right click on the newly created task, click Properties, and add the following parameters in the Run line:C:\Windows\Rundll32.exe shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx 0x2Make sure the "Start In:" box contains C:\Windows. Also the "Enabled" box at the bottom of the dialog has checked. Click OK and you have finished the job.Note:If you want an automatic shutdown instead of an automatic restart, use the same procedure to locate C:\Windows\Rundll.exe file. And then add the following parameters in the Run line:C:\Windows\Rundll.exe user.exe, exitwindows

How to properly remove programs from your computer:Windows 98 has added a little program that helps you delete applications safely and CORRECTLY. Why correctly?Because a lot of new software leaves entries in the Registry, and unless you uninstall your programs, the excess code gets left behind. Not so tidy. So when you want to uninstall an application, follow these steps:1. Click Start.2. Choose Settings then Control Panel.3. In the Control Panel window, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.4. Under "The following software can be automatically removed by Windows..." select the application you want to remove.5. Click Add/Remove and follow the instructions to remove the application. It will show you dialog boxes to assist you in the process. When you remove programs, you may be asked if you want to remove files called "DLLs". That's an acronym for Dynamic Linked Library file. These are shared by other programs. If you want to be real safe, just answer "No" to the question. Everything but the files in question will be removed. (Everything related to the program you're uninstalling, of course.)This is all very geeky, really. But the time may come when you need to uninstall something. So use this. Don't just randomly delete the files that make up programs, or you'll be in REAL trouble.

Would you like larger fonts on your taskbar buttons? Maybe you're a little short sighted, or just want to mess about a bit:)Here's how to do it...1. Right click anywhere on your Desktop (not on an icon) and the context menu appears.2. From the context menu, select Properties, and the Display Properties window appears.3. Select the "Appearance" tab by clicking on it once.4. Select the "Active Title Bar" from the "Item:" drop down list.5. Adjust the font size, color, bold, or italics using the selectors to the right of the font box.6. Click Apply to see how things will look, then OK to put the Display Properties dialog box away. Before closing the Display Properties window, you can save your setup as a "scheme". Click the "Save As..." button, and give you new setup a name. Then you can select it from the list you'll see under "Scheme:" next time you want to fiddle around a bit.The Save As button will give you a "Save this color scheme as" window... you may not have a color scheme, but any changes you make will be called such. So they should have named this box "Save scheme as" instead of "Save color scheme as"... but whatever. You get the point? You can fiddle with any of the options in this window to create exactly the appearance you desire. Why limit yourself to the "out of the box" appearance of Windows? Go ahead... customize to your heart's content!
