  1. Please help me regarding how to connect mobile phone to internet using wifi enabled laptop?

It can be done but will entirely depend on your mobile phone but you need to provide more information.

    Here are some options if:

    1. Laptop is connected wireless, Mobile Phone has bluetooth:

Use your mobile phone's PC Suite and connect it to the Internet via Bluetooth. Most have, otherwise, it can be complicated.

    2. Laptop is connected wireless, Mobile Phone has no bluetooth:

Use your mobile phone's PC Suite and connect it to the Internet via USB.

    3. Laptop is wired and Mobile Phone is wireless.

    This is the interesting part.

Set up Internet connection sharing on laptop (Hardwired to wireless). This set the laptop as a sort of wireless access point. Manually set up the mobile phone's wireless settings to match that of the laptop. (IP, Channel, SSID, Security, etc.)

That's the option I can think of. But if you provide more information, we should be able to come up. I have tried all these setup in a wireless laptop and an N73 and E63.

  2. We need more information about your webserver's setup. If I were to transfer the a phpbb forum from a local server, I would do the following: 1. Install phpbb on the web server. 2. Upload the necessary files (custom templates, pictures, etc.) from the local server to the web server. 3. Export the database from the local server. 4. Drop all database entries from the web server. 5. Import the database from step 3. 6. Perform an upgrade of the phpbb installation. There might be better and easier steps but this is how I do most of the migrations with different CMS's: WordPRess, Modx, etc.

  3. First, I see no point in comparison of Singularity and Multi-Universe. Singularity is like a needle-hole while Multi-Universe is the cloth.

Most people understand that the universe is the totality of all the galaxies in space. However, even if we group all of that we know to exist and place it in a bucket while noting that no other galaxies can be seen for billions or even trillions of light years from our most distant galaxy, this does not mean that we have conclusively identified all of the elements of our universe...given that space is infinite.

I don't think the universe can be seen as the totality of the galaxies, rather it's the totality of everything that exists. (wiki) With the current understanding that we have and the laws and principles that were observed on our universe, we can say that the elements (if you were referring to H, He, C, Ni, etc..) available in the universe has been 99.99% identified.

It seems to me that given space is infinite while suggesting that other universes exist, is it reasonable to conclude that two universes given a large mass collided into one another?

This is a valid point and has already been discussed by the minds behind the M-Theory. M-theory suggests a presence of an infinite number of other universes guided by different laws of physics. Collision of 2 universes triggers a massive ripple, in the membrane, from a single point. (Sounds familiar? The Big Bang theory).

If singularity is a fact, then all things in this universe are one age, and yet the materials that make up our galaxies are of different ages. It is easy for me to comprehend a collision or creating new elements from gathered elements but not from a single element as suggested.

I have a hard time understanding the point of the 2nd statement.

A simple experiment that I can envision is assembling a glass sphere in space free from our gravity and placing a single element while observing the affects over time. I would suggest that nothing would happen. Further if a soda can were lowered into the black hole, would a person with sufficient distance be able to reel it back out or would it have been consumed? Although I dont have the answers, I believe that we have placed limits on our understanding of space.

If such "close" and independent system is just that easy to achieve, the greatest minds of our time would have solved most of greatest mysteries of the universe. It's all about Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle, You can't predict or know everything. As for the glass experiment, that single element is still subject to Sun's gravity, radiation, temperature of the space, et...

From my understanding of the black hole, once it's lowered into the black hole's center, it will stripped into it very basic components (What ever that very basic components might be).

  4. Hi, Adell! I signed up for LTS (Literacy Training Service)to avoid ROTC when it was first offered in 2002. A gratifying experience because I get to teach elementary kids. I can only imagine what you may have gone through with the "little devils." :P The best part was during breaks playing Sepak Takraw with them. Our class was assigned to teach primary studs in Midkiwan, some 1-1.5 hours from CDO. A place where music is equated to April Boy Regino. We get to sing a lot of his songs, and I actually started liking the songs, B) and dance with the studs. The beauty of the experience is the willingness of the students to learn; ours were Saturday classes. I agree with the deep respect for teachers that is cultivated throughout the experience. The patience, the passion and the endurance.

  5. Best Female Vocalists: 1. Aretha Franklin - Beautiful soulful voice.2. Janis Joplin - Jimmi Hendrix is to guitar as Janis Joplin is to vocal prowess. Best Male Vocalists: 1. Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) - Long voice range, soulful and powerful. 2. Joey Ayala - Cool, natured voice. Deeply engaging.

  6. I don't like it. Because it sits between being too messy (which is good) and beautiful (also good) which makes it safe (bad). It feels like the print has an identity crisis. This may be what the artist is aiming for, there's no way of telling. If it was in the late 80's and early 90's, it would have been a great piece. All in all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So if you think its good, go. ;)

  7. Well i think you were intending to write about the Indian music..but it ended up on the note ,focusing indian actress (hotones).ummmm hmmmmm

Now that you mention it, my first post did sound more about actors than Indian music.

Yeah anushkha is doing great at sitar ..she has been dedicated to the work. But indian music is not only about the sitar it has so lot to offer..their is a variety here in music..the instrumental music tabla .flue , veena ,sarod and a lot more. The folk music of the places are amazing and so different.

I think the best drum in the world is the Tabla. It has a unique sound. Correct me if I'm wrong. Its sound changes base on where you place you palm or where you strike the skin, right? I've seen it accompany the sitar.

And the indian movies...i think not all enjoys them...Some make fun of being them so musical and i suppose the movies are more fictitious.

Yes, you're right. People usually laugh at Bollywood movies. I've been told that there are really good Indian movies. I can't find time to search for one, though.

But yes fun to watch...good way to pass the time..We are so emotional beings that most of the movies revolve around the emotions and all..well its fine..as they are more dreaming work and good way to escape from the reality..and get a stress relief ..Watch them for fun :D :D

Movies are reflections of a culture. When I watched The Love Guru with Mike Myers, the Bollywood-like skits really made me laugh.

Our, Filipino mainstream movies, are really boring. It's all about teen love stories or some scary movie. And they use the same plot all over again. It's excruciating to watch.

But the indie scene is different. We've got really good indie movies about our society.

  8. Does Outlook Express send and receive emails when you're wired? If it does, proceed with the next step. Otherwise, there may be a problem with its SMTP and POP settings. Since Outlook Express is asking for your dial-up login, it's best to start by checking on what type of connection OE is using. 1. Go to TOOLS > OPTIONS. 2. On the Options box, go to the Connections Tab. 3. Click the "Change" button. This will open the Internet Options window. 4. On the window, make sure that "Never Dial a Connection" is selected. 5. Click OK, Apply, OK. If the same thing happens, you may need to check on the settings of your Outlook Express. Use the following as a guide: POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)POP SSL required? YesUser name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.comPassword: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows LiveSMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25)Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)TLS/SSL required? Yes

  9. I figure, most of the members here are Indian so I want to ask their opinion on the music of Anoushka Shankar. I first saw her as a child deemed gifted by George Harrison. She's really pretty and I love listening to her version of Indian music. My exposure to Indian music is limited to some Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shankar and Bollywood movies featuring Hrithik Roshan's Krissh and Dhoom (w/c my mom considers the ultimate dream guy  ), Priyanka Chopra (hot ;) ) and Aishwarya Rai (hot ;) ). Forgive my ignorance.

  10. Yep, kababayan. They're really incompetent with crisis management. Or special cases management. I remember a few years back, another hostage drama. A guy took a baby (probably one year old) hostage with a kitchen knife. The police officers were just 2-3 meters away from the hostage-taker. Out of patience, police officers fired several shots to the hostage-taker killing him AND the BABY instantly. Talk about competence. What's worse? It seems that police never thought of hostage situations as they don't have an existing protocol on how to negotiate. Outrageous! From a positive point-of-view, they should start learn from this tragedy. A shame as we can be, we're still Pinoy.

  11. Yes, that's right.

Dual (in our language, Magkabilaan) nature of everything. I think we're better off experiencing some sadness and pain or happiness won't exist- it may not even be required. Imagine a world were all food tastes sweet, wouldn't that be boring? The value of sweetness won't even exist.

Almost all, if not all, religions promise absolute happiness after this life. I'm for no religion, though. Still, I respect those who do. Believe what you want to and live how you want to. ;)

In my opinion, feel the pain for what it is, feel the sadness for what it is and experience joy for what it is. That's my way of drinking from the cup of life.

  12. Definitely COKE! Nothing better than a ice cold coke in a hot day, hot night, cold day and cold night. I'm not sure if it's available in other countries, we have a variation of Coke - Coke Sakto. It's around 200 mL which is better if you're health conscious. Not actually better than water for health buffs, but better than drink 8 or 12 ozs.

  13. I believe it is essential to make friends with your co-workers or team mates. You get to spend almost 40 percent of your working day time with them. It also helps in creating a productive working family in the work. Imagine working sitting at your desk in silence all day long - the stress. However, boundaries should be drawn just like what mahesh2k said. Work is work.I work for a web publishing company and there only 10 of us. It's inevitable that we become friends. In a corporate setting where you are turn into an ID Number, it's different.

  14. Hi there
I joined Xisto yesterday, but have still not received an email with a password. Please can somebody help me?

    Thanks

    Hi, DebraBekker.

Have you tried checking your spam mail? If it's not in your inbox, there's a big chance it was marked as spam by your email server.

Otherwise, try resending the confirmation email. Or registering using a different email address.

    Cheers,

    Neil

  15. Thats some weird news for this week Who knew golf could be so dangerous? Now, its time to take your new knowledge to your club or any place which you hate and want to destory... perfect opportunity. If you are lucky, you won't get sued too!

    Lol.

Really weird news. Spark and boom, a fire? I can't even begin to imagine how it all started. Maybe there's some fire accelerant on that part of the course. Or it could be just plain "malas" (bad luck)

  16. With how we humans are right now, it doesn't need Nostradamus to predict another World War III. When a new power rises (China), the old powers (US and Europe) will most definitely be on the look out. We've seen it since ancient times, rise of Egypt, Greece, Romans, England, France, Soviet, US, etc. Each of these world powers need to show their forces and what better way than war. Now that China has risen to something beyond the West's control, there ought to be another way in a few months, years or decades. It may be one of the many reasons why US and its allies have to leave Iraq. To quench tensions. And also why China recently strengthen its ties with North Korea.Anyway, war is inevitable. It's just sad countries where the battle will be fought won't be within the powers' territories. Some poor countries will be the battlefield and they'll have to suffer. The war may come as early as this year as Nostradamus may have predicted or as late as many years to come. We'll never know but somehow, it has to come. The ultimate war between communism and democracy? Sad but could be true. :(

  17. Woah. Great tutorial although it came in late for me. I recently installed XAMPP in my computer to create a WP theme. It really is very handy and I don't have to wait for the page to load like when I make the design directly on the web server. Currently, I'm designing a new site using ModX CMS. I did have a problem with the ModX's Package Management due to cURL being disabled in a default XAMPP installation. It' easily remedied by uncommenting curl in phpinfo.bat. :P

  18. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) may have that feature on the email address they're providing for free, most does like Time Warner Cable and Comcast. As for a way to check on his Internet activities, there are several software available (for around USD 50) that you can install in his computer to limit or create logs of websites he accessed. On the other hand, Vista and Win 7 already has this same feature.
