  1. There is still the issue of the posts not corresponding to the posts in your profile, generally the posts in the profile are greater than the post of the user inside a forum topic, which is a pretty big issue I think, couldn't that screw with the mycents in the future? Also I think its irritating that when your not logged in, you cant click the "reply" button or "New Topic" button without going and clicking log on first. It used to be that if you were not logged on first, the reply or New Topic button would forward you to the login page, and then back to the page you were previously at.P.S. I still don't like the skin :-p

  2. First of all, me being a professional IP.Board modder and user, I wouldn't use a different logo style for the IP.Board skin. Here is what I managed to come up with for THIS skin temporarilly. (

Now, I have a hunch anwii will probably try edit or delete this...

That banner there is just a test to see if anyone likes it, however others may even do a better contribution then me.

Good luck with re-integrating things though BH and OpaQue.

You spelled Xisto wrong :P There is no L. But it looks good anyway!

My one complaint is the theme, I really don't like it, it seems cheap, tacky, non-professional. If you decide to keep it, I can promise that it shall take me a longgg time to get used to it.

Oh.. just noticed this when I posted.... Everybody's post count is messed up.. When I go to my profile it says I have 1,000 posts, in SM's profile, it says he got over 8,000 posts, and he only has 7,000. What's up with that?

  3. WOW, you are really have a good reasons for not being active here. in fact, if i was you i would took another week resting from that horrible week and not even open the net at all. you are really so busy.
just thinking you did all these activities in one week adding your 300 text messages ;)
    thanks god it finally finished.

Yeah, its been crazy, very crazy. Play is all over now, and it was... a.. success haha.

On top of all that I had to do all my school work, which was... interesting.

  4. Im here ;)No actually hell week for me JUST ended.Hell week consisted of.. Saturday the 24 until Saturday the first.April 24th on Saturday I walked into school at 9:00 in the morning, and left at midnight. I worked on the set for the play, building it.April 25th on Sunday I walked into my school, again, at 9:00 in the morning and left at midnight, again. Working on the set for the play, and at play rehearsal. On April 26th, Monday, I went to school at 7:30, classes ended at 3:00. I worked backstage on the set from 3:00-6:00 then from 6:00-10:30(ranging ending time is 10:30 to 11:30) was rehearsal for the play, which I was on the crew of, and running spotlight.April 27, Tuesday, The same as Monday.April 28, Wednesday, Same as tuesday, but this time I was actually in the spot light booth, but doing nothing.April 29, Thursday, I skipped 3rd period-7th period and went to work on the set for the play, and then for the FIRST TIME from 3:00-6:00 worked on spot cues. And then from 6:00-7:30 was last minute touch ups, and then 7:30 to 9 was first show, and 9:00-11:00 was cleanup. April 30, Friday, Exact same as thursday, but second show instead of first, and was at school until 2:00 am.May 1, Saturday, I walked into school at 9:00 and left at 11:00 at night, we tore down the set, it was strike day. That was my hell week, and now it is finished, I need to begin exam week, and all that good stuff, so I'll try to keep posting consistently, but that above is why I was gone.

  5. no. you wouldn't see any problem with it because it IS convenient. and i agree. you have to meet people BEFORE you text them. but after that, it's texting texting texting. that's what i am hearing from this thread and the people posting in it. we've already discussed how much time it takes to text over 10k a month. that's a lot of time. the only reason people text that much is they have nothing better to do which to me is sad. it also means people rarely turn off their phones when texting that much.

The only reason people text that much is they have nothing better to do? Sorry but you are wrong, at least in my case you are wrong. I text a lot, don't tell me I have nothing to do. I work backstage building sets seven hours a day after school, and i spend 27 hours working on sets during the weekend, and the rest of my time hanging out with friends, and I still text a lot, Don't you dare say i have nothing to do, because that's just offensive when you don't know how much I actually do do. Sorry if I'm being rude I'm very high stress right now, the performance last night had issues, and t here is another tonight and I have to solve the problems.

Just because I text a lot, that doesn't mean I don't have a life, or that's all I do. I also play a sport, whattya know? Thats ANOTHER THING i have to do, Don't tell me I have nothing to do. I play Soccer in the Fall, Soccer in the Winter, and I row for my Crew team during the spring season, I go to Crew camps over the summer, and multiple soccer camps over the summer. Don't tell me I have nothing to do. I also own a website, which I work on all the time that I can. I think you should rethink your statement.. "the only reason people text that much is they have nothing better to do which to me is sad."

  6. i don't agree with that at all. technology is always changing to make people more lazy and unconfrontationable(if i just made up that word, good for me! hahaha)
first there was person to person contact
    then there was the telegraph
    then there was phones
    then there were fax machines
    then there was computers
    then there were emails
    then there were cell phones
then there were text messaging on cell phones.

ummmm am i the only idiot that recognizes a pattern here? just looking at the history, i can think of 1 or two more ways to make people more lazy and without the responsibilities of actually going out of the house and communicating. it's getting bad. and not just with communication. look how much time difference there was between the telegraph and phones being invented. then compare that to computers and text messaging.

Ok, so? Who cares. If you look at that list, we still use all those. It is not like OH there is something new, lets drop the last thing! That is what you make it sound like, once something new comes out the other goes away, all of those things on that list are used quite often still (excluding the telegraph). Nothing will go away, you cant just stop person to person contact, its needed. You cant share emotions, sarcasm, and other feelings over text very well, person to person contact is needed.

Please find me one person who texts instead of meeting people. I don't, I can't think of anybody who does, not even close, I hang out with all my friends who I text, quite often actually. I go to school with them from 7:30 to 3:00 and then I work on the set for the play 3:00-6:00 AND THEN I work spot light during the play rehearsal from 6:00 to 10:30. Don't say people don't meet, and talk face to face anymore. It is wrong. Even my mother, 48 years old, sends about 5,000 texts a month, she just thinks its easier! She still has friends, she eats lunch with people, she goes places to meet people. Texting is just an addition to life, not a replacement.

you know what my theory is? the more people text, the less friends they have and don't want to be bothered by a phone call or a face to face meeting.

My theory is that your theory isn't going to occur. Texting is a convenience, I've gone without my phone for months, and its just something convenient to have, I don't need it at all, but yet i still averaged 10,000 texts a month.

  7. it's not an average of 300 a day. it's an average of more like 325 a day. if each one takes 20 seconds to send, you are spending almost 2 hours of texting a day.
well, at first it seems excessive(it actually is excessive), but you know what? as long as it's not interfering with school and any chores you may have to do, i don't see a problem with it. if i were your parents though, i would be getting annoyed at all the sounds your phone makes when a text comes in though.

i don't know if your stats on how much you use your phone is right though. you may sleep 6 hours, kids are usually in school for another 8 hours so that's 10 hours where you actually have an opportunity to text including the weekends.

it's a new generation evidently and all it really is is another form of communication. i really do hope it's not interfering with other parts of your life though but that isn't really up for me to judge. i thought 100 a day was a lot......but 325? if you maxed out at 12,000 one month, that's an average of 400 a day ;)

let me ask you something. are you the only one sending out that many messages? because if you had to reply to 325 messages a day, i could see how it would take double the amount of time to read each message and reply. so instead of 2 hours of texting a day, that would be 4 hours of texting a day. that would explain better your stats of 1 message every 4 minutes for 18 hours straight on average.

i really have a hard time seeing how this doesn't interfere with other daily activities and responsibilities. so now i now why sotw was delayed. you were TEXTING haha

I mean i see what you mean, but regular people around my age I'd say.. watch a lot of TV, more than two hours a day. I don't. I hardly ever watch TV, so I guess this is my compensation for not watching TV. I do understand the taking twice as long to read thing, makes sense.

Also if you were wondering I've sent and received less than 100 text messages this month just because I have got a very busy schedule. I wake up at 6:00 in the morning, get ready to go to school, I have my regular school day which ends at around 3:00. Backstage work session starts at 3:00, and ends at 6:00 and then rehearsal for the play begins at 6:00 and ends at 10:30 and then I get home and do my homework, so I don't have time for texting whatsoever, and on the weekends I'm with friends basically from friday until monday, so my phone usually dies from the phone pretty quickly. So this month is an exception I guess :P

And that was why the SOTW was delayed.

  8. I couldn't agree with you more. What is the point in a continuous string of hi how r u going on all day? It teaches absolutly nothing and encourages bad grammer and spelling and a good start towards the complete inhability to deal face to face with real people. It is absoluly a huge waste of time and energy.

    You make it seem as if all way say when texting is basically;
    >"Hi, what sup?"
    "Nothing, you?"
    >"Nothing."
    end of conversation
    One hour later:
    >"Hi, what sup?"
    "Nothing, you?"
    >"Nothing."

Its not really like that, I have conversations, talk about matters, what went on in school, things like that. Also, I can deal face to face with real people, I go to school, where I deal with friends, teachers and things like that. I go to backstage where I deal with other workers, Actors, and more teachers. I hang out with friends, where I deal with all my friends, I go to stores, deal with the owners of mechanic stores, and many companies working on sponsorships for a race. I have no disability of face to face confrontation, I can see where you are going, but we all go to school, we all hang out, even though we text a lot doesn't mean you don't see your friends. Sometimes you carry on the same conversation from a text in real life, but the difference is you can add gestures, emotions, and details in real life, so texting doesn't always cut it, I know that.

Now for grammar, I see many people who are beginning to bring the texting grammar into forums, emails, and even real life communication. Now I'm not one to do this, I text will full words, with proper grammar, and I also speak to my friends, type emails, and forums with proper grammar and spelling. Those people

Some years ago, my sms counts at 3,000+ per month. That works out to be about 100 a day. Nowadays, I dont use sms as much. In fact, I have reverted to the good old ways of picking up the phone and pressing on the dials.
With such high usage of sms, the only people who will benefit are the service providers.

I do, also, make a lot of phone calls; sometimes a text message isn't enough to describe something, or explain something.

My texts have cut back a great amount this semester of school though, I am interested to see how many I have sent this month, or last month.

10,000 SMS a month ! i'm not judging you , but it's a lot even for someone at your age!I think i have sent about 20 messages in my entire life , or something , and i have received like 300 messages or so , but they all came from the mobile company , so i don't have the SMS culture but from the other hand , i can see that people like tramposch , have a great way of advertising.

I don't know if you guys see it the way i do , but i think SMS messaging will be a good internet marketing method if used the right way !
10,000 SMS! to 20 different persons , who will SMS another 400 different persons they know ......etc it's VIRAL ! if tramposch and his friends use this the right way , then i think nothing will equal it , not the email marketing. ..nothing !
    Think about it people

It is a lot for my age, It is not like it consumes too much of my time, I have a QWERTY keyboard on my phone, which also makes things more speedy. Text messaging is just like.. people using AIM, how many messages on aim, or msn, or other instant messengers do you send? Or how m any forum posts do you make, or how many forums. This is all just from a phone, think of the forums you are a part of as being your friends, and the posts you make as your texts, some of you do that a lot, its basically... the same thing just from a phone. I don't know how you guys are really all that surprised, I mean I hold conversations with people, if I average 10,000 texts a month, that means around 300 a day, and I am awake for about 18 hours a day, that's a text every four minutes, sounds bad, but if you think about it, its a conversation, you don't send one message then another a day later to keep up the conversation, you know?

I'm not trying to defend myself, but I think it seems like some people have a lack of understanding about texting, its easier, more simple then making a phone call, going to a computer and getting on a forum, and it keeps everybody together, in contact and knowing what happens.

Hopefully people understand, and have more respect for people who text a lot.

  9. wow, a huge number of text messages, about 300 sms a day, i wonder who pay for that ;) but according to your age and activity i think it is normal. after all it is very nice to have a lot of friends that you get along with them like that.

for me the most amount of text messages i received about 50 but only for one day and with a special conditions. other times maybe 5-10 if there is an occasion or something, the average is 2. but still sms is so fun and great way to communicate between people.

My parents do--very grateful! They told me i need to lessen on my texting, its not because of the fee that ensues, but is because they think of how much time it takes out of my life, but what they don't get is that I do this during my life. Also, I have unlimited text messages. It is a very convenient tool for me, contacting friends for homework, or telling homework, sometimes you can't always engage in a conversation in real life, or over the phone, so you must text.

But also Its not just one person I text, its around a range of 20 different people I text, so it is not like I am addicted to very few people, its a wide variety.

  10. Don't laugh.... But I average 10,000 a month, and maxed 12,000 one month.I know what you all are saying, you can just say it in their face and stuff, but really, you can't. That costs MORE money to go drive somewhere and say something to their face. Don't get me wrong, I don't alway text, I hang out with people, I bike, I row boats, I work on cars, I build sets for plays, et cetera. I do, though, text while doing things, so thats where all the texts come from, I am great at texting while doing things. I'm not sure howmany texts I get during the school year, but it cuts down by at least 7/8 of what I usually text, because I don't text at school, I just see it as pointless, and because I don't spend a lot of time being bored, I am always occupied by Homework, Play, or hanging out.If it helps, I am 15. Don't judge, haha.

  12. well what im wondering.. instead of taking it from the database.. take it from the url..What i was planning is just a PHP script that took every URL, each student has a specific url which is specified by a number at the end of the URL, can you make a script that basically.. echoes the page for each student number, do you know what I mean?

  13. <html><head><title>Student Name Here</title><script type="text/javascript">function alertwindow (directory, alerttype, frn) {	w = window.open("/"+directory+"/alerts/"+alerttype+"alert.html?frn="+frn, "alert", "toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=350,height=250");}function helpwindow (url) {	w = window.open(url, "help", "toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=570,height=500");}function helptext (text) {	window.status = text;	return true;}function $(id) {	return document.getElementById(id);}function flipVis(divID) {	if ($(divID).className == 'visible') {		$(divID).className = 'invisible';	} else {		$(divID).className = 'visible';	}}function maxlength( field, maxlimit ) {	if ( field.value.length >= maxlimit ) {		field.value = field.value.substring( 0, maxlimit-1 );		return false;	}}function noNumbers(e) {	var keynum, keychar, numcheck;	if(window.event) keynum = e.keyCode; // IE	else if(e.which) keynum = e.which; // Netscape/Firefox/Opera	keychar = String.fromCharCode(keynum);	numcheck = /\d/;	return !numcheck.test(keychar);}function onlyNumbers(e) {	return !noNumbers(e);}</script><script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="/admin/JavaScript/validate_date.js"></script><link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" ><script language="JavaScript">function newstudent() {	us=prompt("Student name:","");	if(us!=null) {		window.frames[0].document.forms[0].selectstudent.value=us;		window.frames[0].document.forms[0].submit();		}	} </script></head><frameset cols="208,*" border=0><frame src="/admin/students/more2.html?frn=0011472" name="menu"><frame src="quicklookup.html?frn=0011472" name="content"></frameset><noframes><body><p>This page is designed to be viewed by a browser which supportsNetscape's Frames extension.  Your browser does not support frames.</body></noframes></html>

Does that help, I'm sorry that I'm asking so much, I used to know php and stuff, but since school started I replaced PHP knowledge with school stuff knowledge that I don't remember. But i don't know how I would incorporate that into php, what that code is is one student info output on one page.Does.. that make sense :/Thanks

  14. There is a student record system that outputs data for a student, but it only outputs data for one user. Each user has a number at the end of the url.

    /more2.html?frn=0011472

that is the end of the URL, what I want to do is output all of the users (just basically a range of the numbers) onto one page with php.

    Could someone assist me?

    Thanks.
