  1. Well the British government thinks that taking time away from there life is worse than killing them. I personally do not agree with this nor do i agree with killing them. two wrong's dont make a right.I think they should all be sent to work in mines or something that can bring money into the country, and all the money they earn goes straight to the country.I for one would rather be killed that seperated from freedom, my family and all my freinds as would anyone i think. And the government know's this so they use it, even though when your sentenced to life in prison over here that means 25 years at max if your good 15 and if your famous 3.Killing murderers is not the way forward, getting them to work and pay there own way is the way to go. A possibility is to send them so an island where thay cannot escape and have them mine, or do something that can be sold to support themselves and all that is left over after the murderers have been fed and clothed and sheltered goes to the country. Solves many problems like overcrowding of prisons, cut's taxes and many other things.

  2. I must agree that America do bully other countries but for russia to attack millitary bases in europe would just be stupid. I do not like the fact that when countries like to battle, they would rather do it in someone elses country who is not even involved in the dispute. So russia lauch a warhead against American Bases in europe, Come on russia at least be men about this and aim for a base in america.I think it will just end up being another cold war, Neither super power has the nerve to fire a Nuke. If russia fires one, america will destroy them vise versa. Only the small, unstable countires with mad leaders would use a Nuculear warhead. Both Putin and Bush are smart men and know the danger's of launching a missile. Whereas it used to be an arms race to use against each other now it is just to deter the other, but both known neither will launch one.

  3. I did look at the .htaccess but i could not work out if it would protect the pages behind the password or not. If you could clear this up it would be handy as i have played with .htaccess before, and it worked (admittidly i was told that they needed htaccess set up and i just did it. HAd no idea if it would work, and still not sure if it worked)

  4. Yes, there is a method to do this. You would need some php scripting and quite likely sessions or cookies to keep track of those users that are allowed to access the page.

When the page is requested, check for the presence of a session id, if none exist, go to the password page. In the password page, ask for the username and password, if acceptable, set a session-id. If a session-id exists, allow access to the page, else re-direct to the password page.

See if this makes any sense to you:

    session_name ('YourVisitID');session_start(); // Start the session.// If no session value is present, redirect the user.if (!isset($_SESSION['agent']) OR ($_SESSION['agent'] != md5($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'])) ) {	// Start defining the URL.	$url = 'http://' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . dirname($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']);	// Check for a trailing slash.	if ((substr($url, -1) == '/') OR (substr($url, -1) == '\\') ) {		$url = substr ($url, 0, -1); // Chop off the slash.	}	$url .= '/index.php'; // Add the page.	header("Location: $url");	exit(); // Quit the script.}

Read about sessions at the php.net site. http://php.net/

Thank you very much. Now just to work out that in english. PHP was never my strong point. Thanks again for the help, i will play around with this peice of code to work out what to do with it. :)

  5. I am currently doing a small prjoect for a group. We have the main website sorted out but the guys want a site where they can put there funny pictures, a forum and general stuff that we dont want the public seeing. I looked at paying for a secure area on our hosting but we did not want to have to pay more than we already were as it is not being hosted with Xisto.

SO i came to the conclusion of using a simple password page, and redirects. Is there anyway of redirecting users who have not first entered the correct password.

Ill try to explain in a bit more detail. Say my page gets a hit from google or a direct link to a certain page, is there a way of redirecting them back to the password page so they have to enter it, but once they enter it they are free to use the pages but they cant link straight to them.

Say you link to this page from some other site, it redirects you to the frontpage where the password is, you enter the correct password and can look at the pages inside but only if you have entered the password and you can only follow the links on the page no links from outside.

This might sound confusing but at the moment i have only found one site where they have something like this. It does not allow you to go straight to a page must go through the main page first. If you care to see what i mean here is the site Runescape redirect It is the url of a server but redirects you back to the homepage, then only if you go through the frontpage can you enter the server.

Cheers for any help you can provide.

  6. Black holes look like fun, I mean where can you go? If you go through i bet you just appear on the other side unscathed. Just like a hoover that sucks things through. Nice to know what was behind there, maybe another universe with all our alter ego's , Ang on that would mean im tall :) wonderful send me through a balck hole.My theory on BLack holes is weird i know but where else can it go? not even light can escape it but the things must go sumwhere else it would just be a white holes instead of black because there would be nothing there.I thought they were really destructive not creative.

  7. I tryed to do a triathlon once, turned up and saw all these guys in skin tight lycra, and road racing bikes. There is me standing amongst these guys in my swimming shorts and my Downhill racing bike, Needless to say that day would rather be forgotton. So morale of the story, make sure you have the right gear for the job. And never listen to freinds who tell you its a bikeride down a mountain :)

  8. When i saw this in the newspaper a few months back now i think, I was actually outraged. He is a trained soldier just like all our Lads out in Iraq, The guys he would have been commanding would not have been in anymore danger if the MoD would never have raised this issue into public focus. Harry was let down by the MOD and The government for making his posting so much in the limelight. If you were a royal and wanted to join those you have trained with in Iraq, you get all ready to go and then your told a week before your due to depart, Oh harry you wont be in the frontline, you shall have a deskjob. What is the point in even joining? Hew will never have to use his training. He should either be allowed to go and serve with his lads or not be allowed at all and stay in the UK. A desk job is possibly even more dangerous than being out in the field with all those mortar attacks on British Bases in Iraq.

  9. It's a nice idea but i mean, these children are not going to be able to use this computer as in most poverty stricken countries they have to work all hours of the day. After having to do pretty labouris (Not all that great with spelling, please forgive me :)) work all day then just to learn having to crank something learn for 5 minutes then crank again, it would just be so tireing. Would be a nice idea though, i would have to get one just so i can play with the crank.

  10. I was sitting around one night and was looking for something to do and then it got me thinking what is possible on the iternet. I mean the internet is seen more of an acheivment than landing on the moon.People from all around the world find news, music, games, freinds and many more things on the web, but why is it so popular? Is it the fact you could spend your entire life on the net and learn something new everyday? or that most of your life is controlled through the internet in some shape or form, be it bank accounts or shopping. My theory on why the internet is so great is that everyone is linked. You can literaly chat real time to people anywhere in the world where there is the net. Name one other invention that is in almost all houses in the developed world?

  11. Easy Thumbs has been a life saver recently. I have been working with about 5000+ pictures and needed them all thumbnailed and until i found this little beuty i was doing it all manually. Really is a great peice of kit, simple but effective. You can get it at Fookes.

Also i have recently found a site for lots of freeware programs, it basically has databased lots of really useful programs and linked to them. Really simple site to use aswell. Here it is Digital Dark net

  12. Could you tell us on here how we would go about making this money, as some people do not want to have to email some one, only to find out they already knew the way you were going to tell them.

Hey everyone i found this Great idea on the net!

Do you know if this actually works or not?

  13. I find your "addiction" pretty interesting.

Wow i feel like a lab experiment.

I think there is a different sort of adrenaline when doing exetreme sports to other thing's. I think the adrenaline you get when not doing something that could seriously injure yourself, even kill you is nerves or your body readying itself. When doing exetreme sport's your life is on the line so the adrenaline is there to make you worried and tell your brain it's not a good idea.

The biggest question i have to ask, is it safe or healthy to want so much adrenaline, and be close to possible death so often?

  14. I've never heard of someone being addicted to adrenaline. Have you talked to a doctor or psychiatrist about it? Maybe you just like to be active.

Actually i have, and geuss what they told me? To stay in more :S and there trying to telle veryone to be active .

Im glad to hear i am not the only adrenaline junkie out there. I would have been worried if i was.
