  1. I like Green Day. I don't love them but I don't hate them either. If I had to pick the best CD that they've done so far, "American Idiot" wouldn't have the number-one spot. "Dookie" would, though. :PMy big problem is that I'm 25 and am already sounding like my parents. Urk. I didn't think that I would EVER say, "Yeah, well, music was a lot better when I was a teenger." The horrifying thing about this? I'm right. Back in the 90s, when grunge and alt rock ruled the day, I could actually tell all of the bands apart. Now I turn on the radio and honestly have no clue. Half of 'em sound exactly the same.Oh - and metal in general is awesome. I'm not a huge fan of anything that Metallica's done since "Load," but give me Pantera and Ozzy :DAnd don't get me started on that emo garbage, either. If I have to hear Bright Eyes one more time I'm going to give their lead singer something to cry about.
  2. I smoke additive-free cigarettes - and have for several years. Back when I started smoking, I smoked Camels and then Marlboros. When I made the switch to the additive free smokes, I spent a few days feeling pretty darned sick because my body was no longer getting the formaldehyde, ammonia and other garbage that go into most cigarettes.I'm trying to quit, but it's tough. Even though I'm "only" smoking plain old tobacco, my body is still addicted. Additive-free tobacco might not be as bad for me as the other cigarettes, but it's not GOOD for me either. If switching to the no-garbage-added cigarette helps somebody kick the addiction, then that's great. But I would caution that person to not put 100 percent faith in it because, like I just said, these smokes are addictive too.As for the chemicals that many cigarette makers put into their products: these additives are only there to keep people addicted. I actually did a boatload of research on this topic a few years ago for some reason and remember a little of what I found out. One of the more appalling discoveries: the cigarettes that are marketed to women often include chocolate and other additives because, hey, that's what we women types really like. Thus adding another component to the cigarette addiction.
  3. Thanks, TypoMage. What's your favorite King book? I'm partial to "Dolores Claiborne" and "The Stand." I really enjoyed "On Writing" too, though - King's almost better as a nonfiction writer than he is as a fiction writer
  4. I don't buy the toothpaste around here, so whatever's in the bathroom works for me. It's usually some sort of gel toothpaste.I prefer Sensodyne, though, as it deadens my bad teeth a little bit so that I can eat It's darned expensive, though, comparatively speaking.
  5. My first system was an NES. I didn't get one until they'd been out for a few years, which was very annoying to me because other kids in my neighborhood had already beaten Mario Bros. by the time I got my system :PI still play NES sometimes. I really like Tetris and the Mario Bros. series of games. Oh, and I can't forget Zelda, either. The first one, that is, because Zelda 2 just stank.
  6. For music, I prefer iTunes. That answer might change, though, as I'm getting a little tired of the resource hogging that the latest version seems to be doing. I'll probably give WinAmp another try. I haven't used that software in ages (years!) and really couldn't even tell you why I stopped using it.
  7. Hi, everyone. I just thought that I'd go ahead and introduce myself before I jump into the forums :PLet's see...things that you might care to know. I'm a quarter of a century old and am a senior in college. I'm studying English and creative writing, but I'm actually taking this semester off. I didn't flunk out or anything like that - I was just burning out and figured that a break would help. I think that it's working because I'm about ready to go back and finish up already!I love reading just about anything - mostly fiction, though. If I had to name one favorite author, it would be Stephen King. Haha I'll bet some of you thought that, because I'm an English major, I would give a *classy* answer *grins* I'm also a freelance writer, so I get to fire up the word processor just about every day. What else? I love almost all types of music. I'm learning how to play the drums (I'm very new to it, so I know next to nothing at this point, hehe). I also knit, watch football and baseball and really enjoy old-school video games (NES and SNES).
