  1. Umm dont know really how you got that but anyways.... Awhile ago... when I was absolutletey pumped about long horn coming... I googled to look for some more information on the subject. I got up with an article HERE that said that an average lornghorn computer would compile a 4-6 GHZ proccessor and a 2 gig ram ! *Just think of the possiblilites of Xp running on that sucker ! ). But of course, that was last year... who knows what will lie in hardware at longhorns openeing. Comments? Jud to the MTB
  2. but of course, when you get down to it, the only reason IE got so bad, was because that it was the main brower, the deafault of them. any illiterite computer user wouldnt even realize that there were more browsers to choose from. So , by common sense, a hacker would choose the most widley know browser to hack, because, well, theres more people that are using it. So if firefox begins to dominate the browsers, there will be nothing left of firefox's sparkling sense of virus and pop-up proection. The same story could be compared with a anti-virus software.
  3. I see as firefox as my main choice but its really up to you on what you choose:Firefox is an open-source (Wired mag) Internet browser, thought up by a 18 year old (completed when 19) after many frustrations with Internet explorer. It has a built in pop up blocker that has never once fail me, and is 100% skinnable. It includes TABS, which is a fature that lets you see more than one page in one window. Because of its new scent, noone has bagan to look for a way to deliver viruses thrrough the browser. It has promoted its service by Spreadfirefox.com, which gives of webbanners and free blongs (i think) to spread the word of its arrival. It just recently made the cover of Wired. I think you all know about INternet explorers life enough so i wont go there. Happy descisions, Judson
  4. I can definitley belive that an open source project would be a lot more stable than a regular closed-source(if thats the right word) project. Most of them would be stable because aloth of people can add on features to the project, unlike microsoft or apple. And i could see many people getting it because1. most are free. and 2. there are many variations of the project to choose from. Although i can see that linux, on the other hand, is not very userfriendly, and is widely used for sever purposes only. For instance, I think that Mandrake provides mysql an other major services to help server users start up their site right off the bat.
