Confessing To Someone You Like
day_armstrong replied to fallenfirebanshi's topic in Dating And Relationships
I did it back in my junior high school (a long time ago). There is this quite and shy girl in my class that I liked. and yes, I got rejected. What she said is that she " already had had someone else". hehe. Anyway, I'll still do it again next time I guess. Why do you ask such a question? Are you preparing for an "attack" right now? -
I guess there is no one has submit anything on Blender and Wings. Well, these two are my tools for my old hobby. Perhaps, there is someone out there who wants to learn 3D modelling (and/or animation) to decorate his/her website, but has no money to buy 3dsmax or maya. Those 3dsmax or maya is such a waste of money, IMO, for only decorating a website. So, here we go! Introduction: Blender is an open source 3D modeller and animator. It is most popular due to its animation and rendering capability. It's website: https://www.blender.org/. The shotcoming of Blender is that, its GUI terrifying for newbies. But don't worry, there is another tool called Wings3D to support each other. Wings (http://www.wings3d.com/) is also an open source, but with advantage of simplistic GUI. It is one of the best user interface I guess. I used to use Wings to create a simple, base model, then export it to Blender for further development or animation. I will start with Wings 3D. Let's say we want to make a simple book model. Due to its geometry (mostly box/cube), I rather use wings than blender. Ok, let's begin! 1. First, download and install the thing, then run it. 2. I like to use Blender 3D interface, therefore go to Preferences->Camera->Camera Mode (Blender), then ok. With this setting you should be able to use hold Middle Mouse Button (MMB) to rotate view, hold Shift+MMB to pan view. 3. Click Right Mouse Button (RMB) to add cube. RMB again to scale it in x, then y, then z direction. Until it has the shape of: 4. Use Edge Mode, select the upper and lower edge of one side then press C. It should produce a dissecting line, then move it in z direction to make it like in the picture. 5. Use Body Mode, then RMB, then select duplicate->y. Move it to a certain distance. Then RMB, flip->y. Then use Face Mode, select upper margin, and lower margin (see pict.). After that, RMB again select Bridge. 6. With the same technique, bridge the remaining part of the inner book. Then, select one side of the book, RMB->extrude x into the book. There should be a small part remaining. Use Edge mode, delete it (hit backspace). Then, do the same with another side and the outer part. The picture should do the job: 7. You can figure out yourself how to finish it. The finished book: Note: you can press W for showing wireframe. It's often more convenient. I stop here first, and see how is the response of the members. I plan to add tutorial for another modelling and simple animation and also texturing (the book still needed to be textured). Upcomming tutorial(s): As far as 3d modelling is concerned, usually, people decorate their website by putting 3d text or 3d logo. Using Blender3D we can make a nice 3d text or logo then we animate it to make it a GIF file. It can be a nice decoration I think. Update: Some part of the tutorial has been already added below. Why don't use phototshop instead? -I feel using 3d modeller it will be a lot faster ( if you are familiar with it of course). -you can choose the angle of viewing to suit your web the best. -you can have relatively easy modification to your model later on. That's enough for now . Enjoy.

It's Civilization III I guess. It's a game which took all of my precious time. Anyway, that game offers you fun by building nation from stone age to the nuclear age.

Can't Concentrate I cant do my homework

Yeah. Just unplug your computer, UNLESS you can commit not to play games or attend forum excessively. The key point is TIME MANAGEMENT. If you can control yourself, then go ahead. If not, then just unplug your computer. Actually, I have been having the same problem as you. I am easily distracted by things I like. but I cannot control myself. I got dragged away and messed up everything.-Don't play long hours game, like civilization, gta, mmorpg, etc. -Go to forum, or anything you like IF and ONLY IF you got your homework done and your subject in the morning reviewed.Good luck! However, in any way you choose, be prepared to take consequences from everything you did. -
2+2=5, Dont Believe It, Check It Yourself

When you cancel the square OR power of two (^2), you violates mathematics. although both sides are square, it doesn't mean you can cancel them. The number squared in the left hand side is negative, whereas in the right hand side is positive. Both side will produce positive value. but, (4-9/2)^2 -> negative number squared, (-1/2)^2 (5-9/2)^2 -> positive number squared (1/2)^2 you cannot cancel the square! That's my answer. It is nice puzzle anyway -
As far as I know, the Einstein theory about time is about relativity (time delation). That is, if you travel with near-the -speed of light, you will experience slower time than others will outside your system/frame (your spaceship or whatsoever). It's just when you go back, everything has changed, faster than you changed. For example, if I go away from earth with speed near the speed of light, then go back, perhaps I only feel a short time of journey, but in the earth time has passed so much more than I feel. IMO, no one will invent such a time travel or time viewing machine. The thing that is possible is that you go to the future but never come back again to the present time. Then, you will live in future of course. For time viewing, perhaps you can send something to observe the future, but how to send the message back? I don't know whether electromagnetic wave experience some sort of time travelling. This paradox explained by rvalkass should logically prove that time travel to the past is not possible. If it is possible, then you can go beyond the power of God. You can always go back to change whatever God has decided for you. my opinion.

The inventor is using weird, yet innovative technique there (by using shapes and colors). Nevertheless, I know another technique that makes this data storage on paper possible. It's about ORGANIC ELECTRONICS -> PRINTED electronics. I am myself currently studying in electronics area. With selected organic material, one can make a conductive, capacitive, or inductive line depends on the geometry printed and properties of the material itself. So this makes it possible for electronics circuit on the paper, plastic, etc. Flip-flops or latches (the basic of memory) can then be built. Not only data storage, you perhaps ever heard about flexible display. click here. This may or may not be true. but by good packaging method (wrapping the module by protective plastic), although it is dropped to water there will be no problem. it won't be easily torn as well. -day

I think you DO NOT need to replace the card. The error message: "The currently selected graphics display driver can not be used. It was written for a previous version of windows, and is no longer compatible with this version of windows. The system has been started using the default VGA driver." It's just a driver problem. Perhaps because you upgrade the windows. For card of $199 and 256 MB, IMO, is quite decent already. like knuckles said just upgrade the driver. You can try: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ download the Catalyst Software Suite, then install. Hope it's useful. -day

I suppose you have the wireless hardware installed. If you haven't change anything in the installation, you must be using kde for your desktop. (thus, my explanation will be based on kde) First, you need to configure your card. Go to YAST->network devices->wireless. Then you configure based on campus configuration. (You may need to approach your campus staff if it's "not usual"). Basically, you need to set the gateway ip (or DHCP if it is), and set whether it is manage or access point. Then, there are two methods actually (that I know) for you to connect to your WLAN. One is using kinternet (you can search it by filling the box in the "start menu"), and the other is dial up (search "dial up" in the box). Using either one, you need to set the active card to your wireless (mine is "eth0"). -In this part, it will be pretty simple- Hopefully it will be useful. -day
