  1. Sounds interesting. Reminds me of a short story I read once.
  2. I've got an iPod, but I want to get an iriver. I've heard good things about them. I definitely won't be getting another iPod. I've had trouble with mine.
  3. SMF is a good system. I'll have to check out the new version.
  4. I use co.nr as well. I've never had a problem with it. The shorter URL is a lot easier to remember.
  5. I use the paid version of AVG. There's only been one virus I haven't been able to get rid of so far. I think I may have done it, but I'm going to get a friend to go through it and see what he can find.AVG is pretty good, anyway. Better than all the other anti-virus programs I've tried, and you don't have to pay for it.
  6. I've used IE7. I found it okay, but a bit slower than my Firefox. Firefox is so much better than IE! IE7 had nothing that Firefox didn't have already ages ago.
  7. The last book I read was "Catch the Lightning" by Catherine Asaro. It was actually an audio book.
  8. As a legally blind person who has used both a cane and a guide dog, I've noticed the different ways people treat people with disabilities. When I was using my cane, people tended to ignore me. No one said hello. I think people just looked at the cane and didn't really see me. But with my dog, it's totally different. People say hello to me all the time. They recognise me, even if I'm not with my dog. They treat me like a person. Now, what I want to know is, why do people treat people with disabilities differently? What do they think when they see someone in a wheelchair or with a cane? I'm still the same person, whether I've got my dog or a cane. It's just that with the dog I don't look blind. I move around more or less normally, whereas with the cane it's obvious I can't see well. What is it about people with disabilities that makes people nervous?
  9. I had a lot of trouble with depression and a few other things up until recently. I guess at some point you've got to get over what happened and get on with your life. I think getting my dog was the turning point for me. She gave me a reason to get up in the morning and get out of the house. I had to make the decision to try to work through my problems, though. No one else could do it for me. I've been trying to face a lot of my fears, the ones I think I can handle. It's actually been a great experience for me. I think I forgot what it was like to feel normal!
  10. I love hot baths! They're the best thing in the world. So relaxing.
  11. I used to wear glasses, but they didn't help my vision much. I guess it was because I'm used to the way my eyes are and when I wore glasses I was more likely to trip over or bump into things. I just stopped wearing them because even if they did make things a little bit clearer it wasn't worth it. My sister tried contact lenses and didn't like them, so I didn't try them.
  12. I'm kind of average. I've lost a lot of weight since I got my dog. I've started getting out of the house and walking everywhere instead of getting someone to drive me. I think that walking is one of the best things you can do to lose weight.
  13. I'm going to try some of those things! I never seem to get enough sleep.
