Would it be allowed to have an upload script to transfer text files (homework) from laptop to desktop? Because my printer is set up from my desktop, and most of my homework is done on my laptop. So would this be allowed? Thanks.

Alienwares are good but highly overpriced. For the price of an Alienware you can build the same system for cheaper. Also Alienware is now Dell, so there might be some Dell parts there...

Avast+Zone Alarm is what I use, I don't get spyware or virusesm and avast is much better than Norton or Mcafee, they are just resource hogs. I used to have Norton and Mcafee, with Norton, my computer would take an hour to shut down, and with Mcafee an hour to start up. Also Avast auto updates itself whereas with Norton and Mcafee you get those annoying messages.

I'd assume they are expanding the new Core 2 Duo, the quad core version of the CPU will be coming out soon. Maybe they will have something for the average home user coming out soon...

I keep my desktop on all the time because my desktop acts as a server, but I never keep my laptop on 24/7 because after a while the charger will get hot.

For my email needs, I use Gmail. Its a great free service, that gives you a lot of space for emails, and it has some nice features that come with it such as the chat embedded into the email site, 2.7k MB of space, and tons of more nice features.For Instant messaging, I user MSN Messenger. AIM needs some work, personally I don't like AIM, It has too many popups IMO, and lookwise is ugly

Out of those two PHPBB definitely wins! But PHPBB also has a lot of security flaws. IMO the best free forum software is SimpleMachines. Its very customizable and much safer than PHPBB, also its fairly easy to administrate. So if you are choosing free forum software, Id recommend SimpleMachines

For cheap, you won't get a highend gaming rig, but you will rather have a good internet surfing/word processing box. I got myself a Gateway MX3414 a while back, and it ws relatively cheap; $800. Its a nice laptop that runs games and all my other apps quite nicely But if you only want an internet surfing box Id recommend a cheap Dell or eMachine, although I dislike both brands, they are quite cheap, and good for what you are looking for!

I remember on MythBusters they once tried to make a jetpack, but it was unsuccessful. IMO a jetpack is unpractical, it would be kind of hard to have a working engine on your back, and it would probably get very hot
