  1. Back on the topic, the price of a domain on Xisto via the Xisto Billing and Support porttal is $9.99, which is equivalent to 999 myCENTs. Depending on the quality and type of your posts, this could take around 80-100 posts to earn the required myCENTs.

I got $8.99 for 11 post :P, it should be medium sized and original so you won't get penalized.
With my common post lengths, that same amount can be achieved at around 25-35 post, still roughly lower than your calculated amount.

I also post on short or few lines like this one if the topic was not about code or idea sharing.

  2. Tell him the truth, if he will find out himself he will just dump you for not being honest and cheating. If you will tell him yourself, he may dump you but he may forgive you and let that be a lesson. The outcome depends on how you say it, on how his perception of you and on how much he loves you. If you will stick with your Ex's plans, then I am pretty sure that you will lose your beloved boyfriend sooner. If I was your man, I will instantly dump you for hiding things from me and keeps on cheating on a false hope that we will be together if I won't know what you are doing.Blaming alcohol for everything is a lame excuse, alcohol will always stay inside its bottle unless you take it yourself, pour it on a glass and drink it. Alcohol won't even force you to take more. That is plainly the truth that will never change. It was never the alcohol's fault instead it is on how weak your personality is to just keep on drinking.

  3. There are also times where you will need to install them manually instead of using a prepack software. WAMP have some sort of problems if used with certain softwares. It is a good thing that WAMP was created to give easy access on a working local server but on the end of the day, you may find WAMP as a very limiting software. Even if I have stated that I am using WAMP, I will still install the packages one by one even if I need to use cgywin if I have the free time. I do also have stated that in the long run while stripping things that I don't want and adding things I want, the whole group of server software I installed will look like a WAMP installation.

  4. I have already changed the logo into an image, at this moment everything loads fine and this is going on for 2months now. I am not sure if others are still having a hard time on loading the site. Twitter message was move on the side panel and the slot where it was located have been replaced with a google ad.****I am using vhortex.com now and just waiting to move to a VPS.--------------There was no site update on the contents but if you want to see new contents, just drop by in 1-2 days for new contents. I was more focused on resolving the hosting issue on the past months than on putting new contents.Thank you for the patience. Please inform for slow loading (2mins upward) since I aim to get the fastest loading time that is possible without stripping anything out.

  5. I think what he wants is to make the link to the current open page unclickable. 1. Read the current location using the $_SERVER php vriable array. There are lots of documents available as reference around the web, i am leaving that up to you to search. TAKE NOTE: php.net website documentations are not newbie friendly in fact they are mostly written for very technical people.2. Do a comparison with the list of URL links on your site and the current captured active link. you can use strcmp (you can google for this one too) command from PHP or you can use preg_match (a faster shortcode comparison from PHP). TAKE NOTE: preg_match is a very fast and efficient string comparison but also a pain in the head to understand the first time.

  6. vhortex, could you give some example sites that providing the above service?
Can we consider Twitter as one of those services?

It is hard to give an example due to geolocations constraint, if your location is not supported, the client download won't show up.

To give a head up idea, most clients are written on Symbian Java (this is the OS that was being used by NOKIA and other cellphone companies) and now an increase of clients are being written for android (the operating system created by Google Inc).

Amazon at one time have given me a client download link which I use to change the books that was being parsed as available to me. I don't know if you will have such an option since this feature is Geo Locked. I pay 0.03 USD per download of available books.

    *************

You can use twitter but it won't be secure since twitter is globally free to view and read, unless twitter will have an option to make the feeds private.
The idea of using twitter a a medium to change the config / settings your subscribers expect is to make sure a 1 twitter account = 1 logged in visitor account exist on your website. You will need to setup a cron or scheduled job that will parse the twits on your twitter channel and adjust the correct local account on your site.

  7. Is this instant response service can be accessed by public(free or paid), or each site has to develop their own stuffs? My guess is-- for the general informations, the mobile site can install some kind of script to connect with some service to get the information for the user. for sepecial informations, the mobile site build their own channel? I'm totally blind on this, would you explain more?

For mobile phone access or other similar devices that have a very limited memory and screen size
You can either let the user download a client that will change the settings and the info can be feed free.
The other way around this is a phone receiver attached to a limited access proxy server that will pass info to the real server and that is where the adjustments and processing will happen. The proxy server is optional.

You either need to set up this per SERVER. There are third party services that are either free and paid but be sure that your clients are on the same country as the service you are getting.

Fee can be charged when they send SMS, extra fee can be handled base on how much bandwidth or resource you are using to feed to them the info they are seeking. Delivery to phone maybe charge for minimum amount to cover the expense on sending the info. An example, we charge from 0 and up to 0.50 USD per info with a common charge of 0 - 0.15 USD.

For iPad or other similar devices
You can let them install a browser if the device can support it and this will activate html markups on their side. Android OS, Symbian and Apple devices can be detected and you can already get the screen resolution desired though some android devices may not send the actual screen resolution.

Fee is optional but I recommend that they be free

    *************
Laptops and notebooks and other similar devices

As you know, laptops are real computers while notebooks are a smaller version. Both can handle and accept HTML.

    Fee must be free.

  8. Also with a true mobile website, your visitors are expecting that if they send a message to a certain number an instant response of expected data will return. For example, you want a computer spec and you don't know what the parts are and you can't grab a computer.. you will be expecting to send an SMS command / messages to 1234 like this "SPEC COMPMODEL" and expect that the server will transmit data on your mobile device with the computer spec. One of the sites I have created even allows you to change your geological zone by sending an SMS command with your current geolocation in ISO 2 digit format for countries/states and the daily feed for weather, currency rate and time adjustment will instantly update after a server confirmation replied to your mobile device. (for mobile devices that can send SMS messages)**************If you are not considering this options and only rely on themes for your mobile site then that is not a real mobile website.

  9. A registration fee? You want people to pay to see a featureless, dull looking version of the site? I don't see much coming from that. I recommend if it's that important to have a mobile site, redirect mobile users to m.yourdomain.com, as stated above, then take time to learn and code it your self. Even if it takes awhile, the only expense is time. There is an unimaginable amount of information on the web. Put it to good use. There are also many free mobile phone emulators for this testing purpose. The knowledge you would gain from this would help you in future site building as well. If you want it done right... Do it yourself. I'm sure there are man knowledgable people on this forum that could help with questions you have as well.

Maybe you miss the registration purpose, the registration will give them more feature. I never mentioned that you won't need to create it by hand nor do i suggest that approach. Perhaps you missed the concept about mobile websites, this cover from old WAP text only cellphones up to IPAD mobile devices. There is no standard on what the markup will be and you have no first hand idea on the screen resolution. If you are going to emulators, you are not eliminating the problem but only fine tuning your mobile site to 1 particular device.

A mobile template won't also help much due to the mere fact that it will and will always force scrollbars on your mobile device or the other way around where you have a very thin and tiny website on a larger resolution screen.

Most people wanting info from mobile devices such as PDA and cellphones only want a text base info unless they want to pull a map for easy navigation. The other medium they are expecting from mobile service aside from text base websites and info are PDF files. Practically speaking, for the sites that I have developed with mobile support, the users are indeed paying to have small features activated on their mobile device and if they need the full version and full graphics (though i am not a fan of a heavy graphic websites) they will just grab a laptop and visit the site on that device.

  10. I handle that situation separately. Since both site are equal except the layout.. i just create the same webpage using xml markup suited for the cellphone with database backend. If any services needs a bigger screen such as long capcha codes, i just remove them from the mobile version. One of the sites that I have design judges what page the user will be directed, it is not 100% full proof though but once a visitor have a agent id of a mobile device, he will be redirected to wap.website.com.He can browse stuffs and search on pure text layout and if he want an image, the visitor needs to send an SMS message to the server adding his mobile number to the server so next time he vill visit, images will appear (minimal)It is not profitable (in terms of maintaining the site) to have lots of mobile users but a registration fee may cover the expenses a little bit.

  11. SFTP enables webhost is expensive and most of the time cost 3x-5x the price for the same non-SFTP webhost. On average, 2-3 out of 5 websites I created are hosted on SFTP enabled webhosting and 90% of them have IP locked access. The locked can be disabled but it will help more if they are turned on vs brute force access on the server. The rest are non-IP locked since the designer who are updating the templates being used hyave an ISP with a dynamic IP.I don't know about the samples given but Windows IE have problems on connecting to the SFTP servers while on dos mode, you can use Telnet as an alternative. WinSCP and Filezilla can both connect to SFTP servers without problems and they are both free.I use the old Techcia client which is now known as Techia SSH. The old version is free while the latest versions are paid.

  12. FTP and SFTP are not the same.SFTP uses port 22 as defaul while FTP uses port 21 as defaultOn SFTP connection, both client and server needs to identify each other by using a certificate keyWhile FTP is enabled on default, SFTP needs extra setup before it can be available.SFTP servers needs SSL support while FTP can do without one.Chances are, an SFTP account will be IP locked 70% of the time.

  13. I also want to ask you another thing. There are some images on wikipedia that are completely free like the images from gray's anatomy while there are some images that state that you are free to share or remix the work but you must attribute the original to the author. Now what are the pros and cons of using this type of images

Con is that when the license changed, you must follow and obey it. Regardless how much changes you have done since distribution and modification are different fields. The safest way to get images are those available as Free for distribution and modification with a copy left license. No matter how many times the license change, a copy left license will take effect on the time you get the image. You can also make your own copyrights on the images as long as you left the original author/source a reference and sent a copy back.

The resulting license/copyright is the original authors license with yours on top of it. You can even sell it and have profits.

    ************

When getting images from public domain's, it is hard to know if the images was stolen from other sources.

    ************

Enforcing copyrights on images are way hard to do since each minute, thousands of images are being ripped and stolen without notices to authors. Unless you are very lucky on being spotted, there are slim chances that your image can be found. That also applies to original images being designed by you.

One of my images was in fact being used by 200+ websites by active grabbing. Some was modified due to missing watermarked copyright info on the image header.

  14. Human check capcha's that gives riddles and math questions can be easily be beaten. I have written one which gives random math equation and added a quiz style checking. since i was not really sure if it was working pretty well, i created a cron job on another hosting that runs per minute and parse the info that was being feed. turns out that the quiz questions can be grabbed, analyze later and an answer table can be written for the bot to use as reference. in 9 days i was able to create a bot that not only works on breaking my anti spam software but was also successful to beat 90% of human question and answer patterns. the only code that beaten this approached are ajax triggered human/bot check.

  15. I think you need something like this http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

If you checked it out, there is a sub menu or grouping that i made with categories. For that page alone it can go to
"Coding Tips " or "Online Security" or "Programming". This can be represented by a drop down but i trimmed and styled it down cleanly. There is an equal menu on the side bar which was styled in a way that it will look like 2 deep menu. The top most menu is just a selection on what category will shop up on that particular area.

The extra menu on the top which is "home" and "contact" are the actual pages.

    ***************

Your problem is removing the date part, that can be easily done by modifying the current template and commenting out the date function.

    ***************

My actual menu is between 2-5 menu deep :P
some post are invisible to anyone except to site authors.

The site is still in the process of being updated to match the general public's interest on how data is presented so don't be surprised if things move around on random occasion.

  16. Hello,I ordered Logic Plan and I don't have enough myCents to pay it yet. Today I recived an email of "First Invoice Overdue Notice". What should I do now?

you can either load up using real cash or post more quality long contents. you can also post on Xisto.com the sister site of Xisto.com but be warned that Xisto's site takes a very long period of time before mycents are awarded and sometimes, deduction comes in random though they get resolved in a few days. this things never happen on Xisto.
