Love computers. Trying to build my own, but it's an expensive hobby. And I don't exactly have a good paying job.<br /><br />I do graphics design, I script in many different languages, I've designed various websites, and I'm obsessed with MySpace.com. (http://myspace.com/jtxdriggers)<br /><br />I'm a music kid too. Hardcore, emo, screamo, metal (real metal, not mallcore), and punk rock. I play guitar and scream. I sing only when I have to.
  1. I've already gotten the case. And most of the reviews I've read about it say it has an extremely large amount of room. And I plan to order the motherboard next week. (I told you I'm doing this incredibly slowly, I really need some cash). But considering the size of the case I have, space is not really an issue. Thanks for the tip though!
  2. I have Windows Vista Beta. You had to sign up for the Windows Beta program by a certain date in order to download it. I got to it the day before it ended. From my experience, you have to have some pretty good hardware to run it. I would suggest at least a gig of RAM for a decent speed. And a 2.2 GHz CPU at the very least. There are bugs in it, but nothing too noticable from my view. I still have the download links, and they still work. But by law I'm not allowed to give them out :-\ Plus my registry key is only good for a total of 10 times. And I've already used it twice. You could also get the new version of MS Office Beta that's supposed to come out with Windows Vista. I think it was MS Office, at least. I could be wrong, I didn't download it.But in the Beta Program, you had a choice to download them yourself ("them" being the x86 or x64 versions), or you could get them to ship you a disk, but you had to pay shipping. I have download links for both x86 and x64 in 4 different languages. If you haven't seen any screenshots, it pretty much looks like the newest version of Windows Media Player. Except some things have transparency levels.
  3. I plan to get a $900 cpu. AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 2.80 GHz Dual-Core. (I changed my mind from my earlier posts) My case has a funnel that goes directly above the CPU so the CPU fan will flow the heat directly out of the case. But I don't even have my motherboard or CPU yet, and I have plently of time to work on changes. I don't make money that quickly at all. Will the funnel do? or will I have to take the funnel off and work on the airflow?
  4. I'll have 4 fans in the case itself + the CPU fan + 2 on the PSU. The case I have also has a fan controller and temp. display (I'll just leave the censor hanging so I can get the full system temp.) so I can turn them up when I need to.And the motherboard has "overclocking capability" (as if there were ever such a thing)
  5. Once again, I feel like the biggest misfit in these forums.Emery - As Your Voice FadesChiodos - There's No Penguins In AlaskaThe Full Body Karate - You Can't Pull a Fast One on David L. 6. Am I the only one here who doesn't do anything but ride a skateboard? I feel really lame.
  7. Oh. Well I'm impressed simply because I didn't have to pay for an external hdd when I formatted my current hdd. I don't have much that I absolutely needed, so the 2 gigs on Gmail was enough to store it. And I got the files back just as I uploaded them after I formatted.
  8. Chuck Norris went back in time and had sex with his mother. But this is not incest, for only the seed of Chuck Norris could produce something as perfect as Chuck Norris.David Hassselhoff, Selvester Stalone, and Chuck Norris were in a match to see who gets the chair in Heaven at the hand of God. When God asked David why he should get the chair, he replied, "Because I have done good by gracing the world with my presence." When He asked Selvester, he responded, "Because I have done the world good by being a role model. But then God asked Chuck Norris, "What do you think Chuck Norris?" Chuck Norris did nothing but look at Him and say, "I think you're in my seat..."
  9. Yea, but it's much easier to have the FTP-type interface :-\
  10. Oh yes. I forgot to mention that. But Gmail seems to get spammed no matter what, so I don't really notice. But for $50, deleting emails and taking surveys is a small price to pay.
  11. Well if I get an M2 motherboard, I plan to get an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.60GHz Dual Core. Which is really good for AMD.
  12. I'm sure there will be. And with as much time that it takes me to save up the money, I'll probably end up getting a different one. But thanks for all your help!
  13. I'll be honest with you from the start. I use this mainly on MySpace.com. With this extension, you can use JavaScript to alter any page anywhere! You can remove the ads off of specific websites, you can even customize the stylesheets if you know what you're doing! If you've ever been on MySpace.com, you know the annoying home page with all the ads and announcements. Well I have made my own script to clean it up a bit to match my profile. Here is a screenshot of my MySpace's homepage: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I've added some new things since the time of that screenshot, but MySpace is down right now, so I can't take a new one. But imagine, I did that to MySpace, imagine what more you could do!
  14. http://ipodlinux.org/ I have completely transformed my old photo iPod into a video playing, gameboy emulating, scripting machine! Yes, you can actually play uncompressed .avi videos on a photo iPod. I'm not saying that you can play new Gameboy Advance games or NDS games, but the developers at iPodLinux have created an emulator to run the roms of original gameboy games. The controls are placed around the touch wheel. You touch (not press) the upper-left corner for the "A" button, the upper-right corner for the "B" button, the lower-left corner for the "Start" button, and the lower-right corner for the "Select" button. I've been a part of the iPodLinux community for a while, and I've watched it grow and grow. And things only get better If you have an iPod of any kind, from the first generation black and white screened to the latest fifth generation video iPods, I highly suggest checking this out!
  15. But you have to remember, price is NOT the only factor. Reliability, as much as durability, are also key factors. Don't go out and buy the biggest and cheapest hard drive you can find at Wal Mart. Do a little research and read some reviews. Get a nice hard drive that is made by a well-known and trusted company with a lot of capacity. Also look into speeds and such. They do matter, believe it or not.
