  1. Yes, but the computer is not the one who has to maintain the code now, is it?Fact is, sometimes small amounts of speed need to be sacrificied to make things easier for the poor programmer trying to maintain said application. Hell, with computer technology as it is the speed differences would probably be nigh-unnoticeable, as most of the heavy processing power-sucking code is already optimized.
  2. I enjoyed the first half...but when everything went from a great crime-like mystery drama to some weird **bottom** alien shaman etc.etc. story I was turned off immediately. They really screwed the game up.
  3. Heh, at the very least you need more RAM, BF2 is a RAM hog and 1GB is pretty much needed for stable gameplay even at low-medium settings...
  4. I got tired of the series after Battle Network 3. Really, they make little to no changes in each game, and, unlike the Mega Man series (the action games) they just plain aren't that terribly fun after playing them for a while.Other RPGs are far, far better on the GBA/DS.
  5. I recently bought BF2 so I can't really comment on anything in the poll, as I've only played the most recent patch and that's it.Overall, I love it. I was a big fan of Battlefield 1942 (never played BF: Vietnam) and I would have to say I enjoy this one even more. Static stats tracking is a VERY nice addition.Only thing I don't like is the somewhat common crashes on loading that as far as I know only really started occuring a lot as of the latest patch.
  6. You may need to get a new Power Supply if you want to stick a more modern video card in there.Cards like the 6800GS and/or X800/X850 probably won't be able to make-do with only a 200 Watt PSU...
  7. From my experiences with PartyPoker's free $50 you do get the money, but there is one catch. With them, you had to play at least 50 raked hands (hands in which you bet and the house took at least $0.XX amount from the bets). So, if you're terrible at Poker and have no luck you'll lose the $50 quickly and they don't owe you a thing. I did manage to win some money and cashed out no problem. PS. Is it just me or does the site the original poster posted not work anymore?
  8. Yikes. Can't wait until we get that sort of thing for the home market...though there will have to be some serious core management done at the OS level to make it worthwhile (either that, or have the CPU itself smartly manage cores and program threads). I mean, even dual-core processors right now aren't able to really show their power due to the lack of applications specifically programmed to be multi-threaded.
