    DRIV3R

Driv3r was reportedly released on June 24 this year, according to Atari. Unless something is incredibly wrong with my sense of time, that was just over a month ago. What are you talking about, psp-playstation?
  2. PHP is a programming language; HTML isn't.PHP is powerful and diverse; HTML isn't.PHP is dynamic; HTML isn't.PHP has features such as MySQL interactivity; HTML doesn't.PHP can have HTML imbedded in it; HTML can't have PHP imbedded in it.PHP owns; HTML doesn't.
  3. psp-playstation, watch yourself. Xisto neither condones nor tolerates software piracy. Consider this your only warning.
  4. templest, I think you might want to consider cutting down on your use of offensive language, especially considering that you are a moderator.

    Call Of Duty

This is just a wild stab in the dark, but you could try a computer games store. Don't ask stupid questions. If they sell Zelda video games, chances are they would sell Call of Duty.
  6. Do you even know what the word "explicit" means? Don't you mean: "specific"? Shackman was not necessarily incorrect. 'Explicit', in this sense, would mean 'clear' or 'precise' - eg. 'Clearly expressed' or 'precisely stated'. 'I don't really understand. Could you express your question more clearly?' is perfectly acceptable, which is to the same effect as what Shackman said.
  7. What are you talking about? The packages that Xisto provides are equivelent and even better than many of those that you have to pay money for. All that is asked in return is that you submit a few posts within the forum. If you can't be bothered doing even that, then there is something very wrong with you.And if you aren't willing to contribute to the community, then there isn't much point in you being here.
  8. Doom III on a 1.2Ghz CPU? How did you manage that?

    Gmail

I've heard reports that Gmail was supposed to open today. Apparently, it was just a rumor.I also heard that they stopped issuing invites to users, so those who have an account now are the only people that will have an account until it opens.I'm one of the lucky ones that got invited in early.
  10. Um, ok then...An Internet browser is not 'the Internet'. What are you talking about, MiniMe902?
  11. Making a board as functional and diverse as any of those listed above takes much longer than two weeks, especially if it's only you working on it.whiteFyre doesn't look nearly as good as phpBB, IPB, or vBulletin.
  12. *Wasteful posts removed.jailbox, don't do that again, please.
  13. You probobly could disable it, but I would recommend freeing up some hard disk space. Having too little free space slows everything right down, and can cause programs to fail. One good and cheap way to keep your hard disk free of clutter is to get a CD-Writer and backup everything you want to keep, and then delete it from your disk. You can pickup writers for around $20-50 now days, and a blank CD costs less than a dollar.
  14. NVU is a free WYSIWYG HTML editor, which is reputedly almost as good as Dreamweaver - but it doesn't cost a cent. It's available for Windows and Linux.
  15. <html>[br]<head>[/br]<title>Untitled</title>[br]</head>[/br]<body>[br]<b>Testing Index File For Bloomin Lovely</b>[/br]</body>[br]</html>[/br]Your site seems to be working ok now, grrlfromoz.
  16. Cut him some slack, templest. The guy just needs a bit of help.CodeName_88, as templest said, upload your files to 'public_html' or 'www'. You can also manage your directory-tree from within that folder (ie. public_html/dir1/file1 = yoursite/dir1/file1).Usually, your index page should be called 'index.html', 'index.htm', or 'index.php'.And yes, file names are case-sensitive - if you name your file 'indEx.html', then it won't be able to be accessed by requesting 'index.html'.
  17. Didn't you post this exact same post on another forum, without even trying to change anything?
  18. The idea behind a 88x31 'button' is that it is an image (possibly animated), not a Flash animation. Such pictures are generally intended to represent a site, such as on a 'top-list' or affiliates area etc.
  19. And you're from which planet...? I think that the Xbox has the best graphics. However, considering that it is newer than the PlayStation 2, that is kind of expected. What I don't like about the Xbox is the original controller - it's just too bulky. I grew up on the Atari and the NES (the original Nintendo), then the PlayStation One, so I've always been used to relatively small controllers. Fortunately, however, Microsoft finally saw the light and released the S-Controller, which is what I use. Anyway, the PC is obviously the choice of platforms for the extremely serious (and extremely rich) gamers, because the technology available to easily upgradeable devices (such as the PC) continues to change. One of the ideas behind the Xbox was that it would allow the user to get out of the constant-upgrade loop, and that's one of the things I like best about console gaming - there are no minimum system requirements that you have to meet (with one or two possible exceptions). Anyway, I'm getting tired and starting to dribble and rant, so I'll just shut up and post this damn thing.
  20. I don't think real-time-stratergy's should be played on consoles. To effectively use your troops and resources, you really need a mouse and a keyboard. And consoles (well, at least the Nintendo 64) don't have online multiplayer options. I haven't actually played Generals yet (I fell away from stratergy gaming a while ago), but I do plan on getting it one of these days. It looks pretty good.
  21. I'm not sure about the set up here, but generally, an account comes with a default MySQL username, usually just 'yourname'. So you shouldn't have to create a new user account for MySQL and assign its permissions if you don't want too.
  22. Uh ok, that's a kind of stupid question, and will probobly be considered SPAM.Anyway, 'bandwidth' is the amount of data drawn from the network/server/etc. Eg. if someone downloads a five megabyte file from a server, then they have used five megabytes of bandwidth.
  23. Forums with few members/posts shouldn't have too many forums/categories - it's likely to scare people away rather than get them interested.Honestly, I think there might be a couple too many categories here at the moment (<300 members/2200 posts isn't really a big member-base). But that's just my opinion. In forums where something is being offered (in this case, free hosting), the above doesn't always apply; but in most of the forums I've been apart of, I've tried to keep them small when they were small, and let them grow when they became big.Take for example the 'Programming Languages' forum. There is only just over twenty topics in there, and it has been split into 8 different sub-forums, only one of which has more than ten topics. In my opinion, having a single forum labelled 'Programming' would be a better idea. But hey, that's just me. You guys do what you like, it seems to be running relatively smoothly at the moment.
  24. I think that the name is fine. Personally, I wouldn't have chosen a name with any digits in it, but it seems to fit.Out of curiosity, what does the name symbolize?harad, Invision Power Board 1.3 is free. v2 is not. If you are offering to pay for it, then I'm sure the admin wouldn't mind.
  25. On the index page of Xisto, the very first page you are likely to see when you visit this site, it clearly states that amongst many others, one of the features is PERL version 5.8.1. This would strongly suggest that a CGI-BIN is included.
