Personally, I'd stick with WinAmp 2.91 (which is what I use)...it has dockable windows, double click and they shrink to tiny windows (very useful) plus a good playlist and it's controllable easily via ZXCVB (play controls) and up down left right (volume up/down and jump back/forward in video)...something few programs have :-)

Firstly, find out what codec you need...search google for "GSpot"...it's a program which will open a video file and tell you what audio/video codec is required to play the video and whether you can play it. Next, *don't* download these "all-in-one" sets like Nimo...they install unnecessary codecs that you won't use in your lifetime and which not only take up HD space but they slow your PC down (not much, of course...but have you ever played a video and watched as it takes minutes rather than seconds to play? Now you know why :-)) http://www.doom9.org/ is one of my favourite sources for codecs (note they *also* have some codec packs and you might find the one you want :-) If you're after a specific codec and can't find it, look in GSpot for its FourCC code (the 4 digit ID...like DivX 3.11 is Div3 :-)) and search on https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=BwkjVKfAD8uH8QfckIGgCQ&gws_rd=ssl for it with the word "codec" after...if you still can't find it, post here telling me the FourCC and I'll go look :-)

Neither alternatives are "codecs", they're decoders...a codec encodes and decodes data. Not that this is relevant or in any way important...but I'm a big fan of video encoding (DivX usually) and I hate to see things called codecs when they're nothing but glorified filters :-)

Red Alert 2 is a good game, but I don't like playing it online...for some reason my friend who plays it can get huge armies in the time it takes me to get a small platoon :-)Best online game for me is the CounterStrike/STEAM set...although I suggest you all look out for SWAT 4 coming out from Sierra (advertised on http://www.sierra.com/de/) To see what it'll be like, look at http://www.10-david.com/rg-erdr.php?_rpo=t for SWAT 3 maps and crap (with pics)...it's an excellent game :-)

Yeah, the simplest way to do this is to use an iframe hidden somewhere and a page in that window with the music playing...simply make it so when you click a specific link, it opens in the iframe and opens the file "about:blank"...well, it's how I'd do it anyway (if I dared actually play music in a web page...it's so n00bish :-))

Wanna see something wearable that's worth it? How about a TV? :-) http://www.nhjapan.com/error.html http://www.nhjapan.com/error.html Also, I found 2 pens at Maplin... http://www.maplin.co.uk/?doy=24m11&ModuleldID=& is a camera (Ł300) and the other one is in their catalogue but not on there site and is 128MB of memory in a pen no thicker than a normal pen (not ballpoint...think of the slightly fatter ones) with a USB plug inside...I'll get the info if people are interested :-)

Not just that, I remember my workplace having LCD monitors...we had them on almost 24/7 and LCD burnout was an issue for some of them...they just can't stand long-term use as well as CRT monitors... ...and as mentioned earlier, refresh rates on LCD limit what you can do with them. Personally I'm happy with my 22" CRT monitor...plays the games I like at a nice resolution and without ghosting :-)

Personally, I'm hoping to buy this: http://www.nhjapan.com/error.html http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ TV, DivX *certified* MPEG 4 compression and a video player/recorder...as far as I can see it records from TV only with the docking cradle, but 60GB of HD space is well worth it for that price (under ?400) :-) Another one (and this is the one which piqued my interest in this) is: http://www.maplin.co.uk/?Modulerce=4&doy=24m11& Says 2.2GB HD but the maplin catalogue says 20gb..and that's ?250 with VAT included while the first is ?317 without Personally I am saving up for the first one :-)
